It must be weird to be the mayor of a city like DC. Normally the mayor is the top elected official in town but in DC you have the President of the USA living in your city let alone all of both houses of Congress.
There's a TV show called _The District_ about the police chief in DC trying to update the police and reduce crime rates. It touches on some of those issues. It's no _The West Wing,_ but it's pretty good. Stars Craig T. Nelson, who you might remember from _Coach._ The Pilot czcams.com/video/rqzxEu6B17o/video.html
Lmao jesus this fucking take. Politicians aren't elected to be your friend, mate. I know for a fact that you don't introduce yourself to, and strike up a friendly conversation with every single person you have ever stood next to, so why should we expect something so utterly asinine from elected officials? It makes me roll my eyes every time I see politicians making nice and kissing babies, because it always seems so cynical and insincere - however it evidently reels dumb fucks such as yourself in hook, line and sinker.
@@Lightscribe721 Basically I agree with you, although I give the "take" a little credit because frankly Charlie was giving him goo goo eyes, and if he'd been paying a hair more attention he would've picked up that Charlie obviously wanted to say hi haha. But yeah it would be weird if he went around going "ey, you from DC?"
@@michaelt3779 a politician is going to introduce himself to EVERYONE who has direct access to the President. It's absurd that this Mayor would not introduce himself to Charlie.
Charlie seems more star-struck than he did when he was interviewing for his job.

Not only that. But unlike other cities, Congress has supreme authority over Washington DC and can override local laws.
It's a necessary evil to ensure that the capital exists as truly neutral ground for all parties and groups; at least in theory.

Joe McKim Well, every city has an undesirable element.
Plenty of mayors get overshadowed in their capital cities by governors too.
I would think Charlie would have met the mayor after his police officer mother was killed in the line of duty.
Could have been a different mayor
@@jameskessler2588 Charlie said that he voted for him twice. Implying this mayor has been in office more than 4 years.
Dr Webber was a Mayor??!!!
It’s Richard from Greys Anatomy
The thumbnail still cracks me up😊
Yah, Josh shoulda done the intro 🙄....writers blew it.
They need to save TV time, they cut normal behaviors sometimes...
High and mighty politicians.
Should have noticed Charlie from the start and asked live in DC. Notice that it was Charlie who extended his hand first.

@@jerodast yeah but when you're standing outside the oval office about to talk to the president, you're probably a little distracted.
@@michaelt3779 Haha, yeah "there's always a bigger fish" - Charlie has a crush on the Mayor, but the Mayor's about to see POTUS :)
