Being from the Bay Area, so you know how the newspapers San Francisco Examiner and San Jose Mercury News celebrated the 20 wins? Well, it didn't make eithers front page and the sports section had a huge half page picture of the Giants where they lost. In the bottom left hand corner was a black and white picture of the win with a less than 500 word article. The hate for the A's is real. This is why no A's fan will EVER celebrate a Giants win.

I'd legit give up my left nut to work for President Bartlett. Or even President Martin Sheen acting like President Bartlett.

I love how his wife presents a simple sampling of snacks and it's accepted before they both leave by Pitt. Such a great scene that brings normal etiquette into play. Pitt's constant snacking during filming really normalized this scene and made it realistic. Every professional accepts a snack in the sake of goodwill.

I've played a lot of baseball growing up. I don't understand how would it would be so difficult to go to a different position? Catch the ball. That's what you have to do right, no matter what position

My favorite thing about that scene is the hug he gives his wife. He was depressed thinking the one thing he did his whole life was over, but was given a lifeline.

Movie madness....this never happened, other than a phone call. But the realization to Scott that he didn't play 1st base and was replacing a MVP Jason Giambi...well...that was very real! Worked out for sure as Scott played until 2008. It does bug me how they portrayed Scott here.

Honestly this movie doesn’t get enough love.

The trick of the scene (handing over the knife to Charlie) is very, very clever and psychological. Charlie is still in his former mindset (getting the perfect knife for the President) and before he can grasp the significance (being handed over an object in lieu of a son) it's all ready off to the next meeting (and no time for getting too emotional - so a certain etiquette is still preserved). Brilliant. Also foreshadowing the relationship with the presidents daughter - which would make him a son-in-law :-).
