    Nice Review of my favorite Watch, I cant get enough of it! Its now over 4,5 month on my wrist, and you dont get bored of it. It is a fantastic masterpiece of Japanese Engineering, the fact that this is a g Shock and it is tough, its probably the watch you can wear your Whole life. Its worth every penny.

      Hahaha that was during the uncertainty of 2020 and retailers were seriously hurting and interest rates were at rock bottom so there were so many deals to be had out there.

    The Forerunner is a great vehicle - I often think of the full metal G Shock is to regular Casio what Lexus is to run-of-the-mill Toyota. The Titanium models and MRG, well that’s the Toyota Century. This steel one is incredible. Like Toyota, the QC is always incredible no matter how inexpensive the Square.

  • @ripperx444
    @ripperx444 Před 2 lety +2

    Your 4 Runner is classic! I have the 2021 SR5 premium with the TRD Pro parts. Rims, exhaust, blacked out emblems, the trd pro skid plate and the side steps. Amazing car and in 2021 Theh finally put HID head lights in. I also have this watch in steel, black pvd and the bling master in “gold”

    • @joshswatches
      @joshswatches  Před 2 lety

      Sounds like you’ve got a classic yourself there! And I know I missed the headlights by a year, but it’s okay. For better or worse I bought it in late 2019, and then in early 2020 went to work from home and so right now it’s only got 10,000 miles on it. And LOVE your collection! I added the gold after this and wish I had jumped on the virtual armor version when it was readily available. Thanks for watching and sharing!!

  • @kevinleighuk
    @kevinleighuk Před 2 lety +3

    Thanks a great review. I have 3 of these metal G Shocks in gold, chrome and rose gold. I love them all as watches I can just put on and go, unlike my mechanical watches that need setting. The vintage look appeals to me having been around when quartz watches first appeared. I agree that up close their quality is excellent especially the bracelet. It’s one of my favourite parts. It’s incredibly comfy on. My gold one has the reverse LCD which is cool tho not quite as legible as the traditional black on silver background of the other two. All mine are made in Japan which is nice too as it’s where the better quality assembling is done.

    • @joshswatches
      @joshswatches  Před 2 lety

      I agree with everything you’ve said here! Not long after this I got the gold one as well and absolutely love it. And actually since getting that one, I’ve barely touched the silver. I saw today that Hodinkee has the new special edition Titanium Virtual Armor for sale and man it’s gorgeous but I personally can’t stomach the $1,600 price tag.

    • @kevinleighuk
      @kevinleighuk Před 2 lety +1

      @@joshswatches yes, the titanium one is expensive and doesn't appeal to me. I like the shine of the rose and yellow gold and the chrome. It's part of their attraction. I am not going to wear them anywhere that they will get bashed up. If I really wanted to do that I'd get a cheaper plastic G Shock or frankly not wear a watch at all. And I have other titanium quartz watches anyway which I prefer. One is the new Bulova Lunar Pilot limited edition for the 50th anniversary which not only looks great but has a super quartz running at 262Hz for excellent accuracy (though not as precise as watch that syncs every day with an atomic radio signal of course). And the other is the Omega X-33 Skywalker which has wonderful history and looks amazing on the wrist. It's expensive which puts people off given it's a quartz but on the wrist it's the most legible analogue watch I have out of 40 or so mixed quartz and mechanical pieces in my collection. But for a quick lightweight watch for casual wear the G Shocks suit any occasion given my choice of colours. They're fun watches. The Bulova and Omega are more serious watches.

      The Oceanus is a fantastic watch!!! Casio durability and technology with JDM Seiko built quality! Can’t beat that!
      There’s a newer version out as well, the S200 I believe, which is stainless steel and I’m 99% sure adds Bluetooth like the newer G-Shocks as well.

    Nice video, i love this watch ,and and a few days ago I find a good deal on the GMW-B5000PB-6ER and I added it to my collection. I am not a big fan of negative display but this one is much better and the colors are amazing. I think the finish on this watch is very good ,on par with the Oceanus. The titanium ones are even better but they are very expensive for me, they are for collectors. I don't want to keep my watch in the box, I want to use it and don't care about some scratches.👍👍

      @joshswatches  Před rokem

    Hi Josh,
    Thank you very much for your nice review!
    I just have one question: it is possible to cancel the function of auto synchronization? Or every time that it gets signal will use the local time.
    Thanks!

    • @joshswatches
      @joshswatches  Před 3 lety

      You are most welcome! And yes that’s correct, essentially it will look at your local time setting (GMT +/- X) and when it receives the UTC radio signal (GMT) it will take that plus your settings. Now, keep in mind you have to be within range of one of the broadcasting stations to use it, so places like Hawaii are too far from Fort Collins, CO or either of the two Japanese broadcasting stations, and that’s why there’s Bluetooth sync built into these also.
      Hope this helps!

    • @luvi4637
      @luvi4637 Před 3 lety

      @@joshswatches Thank you again Josh!! Very interesting, but it is possible to deactivate at all this synchronization or the watch it self doesn't allow you to do it?
      Thank you and best regards!!

    @veeraldogra5684 Před rokem

    Hey! thank you so much for the review! I noticed you have an Oceanus model as well, how does the all metal gshock compare to the Oceanus in terms of fit and finish ? I keep hearing that the Oceanus models are finished like watches that are twice its price, is that true for the metal square as well ?
    Thank you

    • @joshswatches
      @joshswatches  Před rokem

      Hi! Thank you! The Oceanus is a level above this watch for sure. All the tolerances and gaps are tighter and the finishing is finer on the Oceanus. But the Oceanus is trying to be a luxury watch where the G-Shock is trying to be a G-Shock if that makes sense. 😅 That doesn’t mean it’s lower quality but the mission is different. Think about like a Toyota truck versus a Lexus luxury sedan. They cost the same amount and the quality is there with both but the truck is more rough and tumble and you’re maybe less inclined to baby it. Hope this helps!!!

      @veeraldogra5684 Před rokem

      @@joshswatches Thank you so much for the reply, it makes a lot of sense,
      is the build quality of the Oceanus as good as they say it is? Does it compete with watches twice its price in terms of fit and finish?

    • @joshswatches
      @joshswatches  Před rokem +1

      This one is hard because it depends how wide your wrist is (some people’s are more oblong than round). Go try it on before you buy (or buy from somewhere you can return) as the lug end like pieces don’t actually move.
