- There is so much more to say than we could fit in this video we hope to cover it in more detail in the future. So a little bit of context, we started planning our elopement half way through planning our big wedding. We were finding the planning really stressful and it kept taking away from our time together. We had always played with the idea of eloping however I (Naomi) was the one that really pushed for it in the end. Marriage is meant to be about us coming together. Although we love our family and friends we are the people who will need to live together and be accountable to each other. It is easy to get side-tracked however always do what you want - people will get over it. If they don’t, did they really have your best interests at heart? Are they really the right people to be in your life? Elopements can be hard but at the end of the day you have to do what is right for you.
Naomi is Zambian and Jack is British. We are newlyweds very much in love and we are excited to share our journey with you on youtube. We got married in June 2019 at the ages of 23 and 25.
We post new videos, 3 times a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

What did you both study at Uni?
We had a baby and eloped in our living room two days after the birth of our baby. A year later we had a big wedding which was great. We’ve been married now for twenty nine years. Wishing you a long and happy life together.

My husband and I eloped, it was the way we preferred...we both have fairly large families, but, we just didn't want any negative vibes....it was just the sweetest day ever, my husband said he loved it.
For the mere fact that I don’t want to dance for everyone at reception (I’m African) and have people give out speeches about me while I awkwardly sit there, eloping seems like the best option for me
That's what my wife and I did 34 years ago. A five-day process culminating in a 15-minute ceremony done by a judge and witnessed by his secretary. Followed by a two-night honeymoon. Good luck!
I definitely want to elope! Honestly, just my husband and I somewhere surrounded by nature. I don't see the appeal of a wedding, and I have the kind of parents who would make it all about them, the people they want me to invite, what they think is best, and it would ruin the entire experience for me. There's really nobody I actually want there other than my husband (obviously lol)...I'd rather us have the moment to ourselves, untainted, and spend the money we would've used on a wedding on a honeymoon and a home.

My husband and I eloped in Hawaii without any family or friends because my husband’s dad didn’t approve. We had a great wedding and honeymoon and have been married for 15 years. His dad is still a challenge but I stopped trying to win him over and I’m happy with that decision.

You two are such a cute couple. I can totally relate to your story. I could never picture myself having a big wedding either. My husband and I eloped in Maui. Even though my family and friends weren't able to make it to the wedding I wouldn't have changed a thing.
I wanted our wedding day to be about us and not worrying if everyone that was at the wedding was ok, were they doing what they were supposed to do and making sure everything was running smoothly.
My husband and I stayed in bed most of the day and then got up around 1pm or 2pm. We went our separate ways to get ready and met back up on the beach for the wedding around 5pm. I've always wanted to get married barefoot and that's what I got to do. I absolutely loved our day.
Even though neither one of our parents said anything to us I believe they were unhappy about not being able to make it to our wedding.
We plan to go back to Maui for our 10th anniversary in a couple of years and renew our vows.
Your wedding sounds so beautiful! I love how chilled it sounds. Big weddings really can be stressful! I think it's nice that you did something you and your husband could cherish forever! Thanks for sharing your story with us we loved reading it! 💕 I think even if they are happy in principle it's always going to be a little difficult for those close to you but it sounds like they respect your decision.
