Since my 10 year relationship/marriage ended (mutually) I have been completely numb and uninterested in romantic ideals and marriage. THIS WEDDING is the first thing to break that feeling... I'm sitting at work trying to hold back tears. Congrats on both finding something real and keeping it real

My parents only knew each other for three months before they eloped. They are different races, and my mom’s family did not like my dads (because of race). They were also poor, so they got married at the courthouse. 28 years later and they are the happiest couple to this day. Five kids, three dogs, two birds, and my dad has a wonderful job now. The two families get along wonderfully now too!
Weddings aren’t everything. They’re just a display. A big wedding doesn’t mean big love.

This makes me so happy. That is exactly what a wedding is about. Not fancy locations, expensive ceremony or big dresses. It's about love. About marrying your better half and be with them for the rest of your life. You can be happy without all that big fancy schmancy stuff that everyone makes you believe you need to have to be happy. It's not about the surrounding or the clothes. It's about two people loving each other. Because if you do, then it doesn't matter what the rest of the ceremony looks like. I wish you both a long and prosper life, with love and health surrounding you and your loved ones ❤️
So weddings are about family and friends, making sure they had a celebration to remember, where they eat and dance and do traditional things.
I'm sure they're still going to have a "big" wedding, but if not, I'm sure theyre happy no matter what. :)

@@THEnoaliens No... That's your idea on what a wedding is supposed to be. Not everyone likes tradition, you don't need traditional things to have memories that'll last forever. And not every wedding needs to be a huge event, what matters is everyone had a great time and it was about love not money. Honestly, if you have to spent thousands of dollars to be traditional to make your family happy maybe it's better to not invite them. A wedding should be about the people getting married not the guests. To assume the family and friends didn't have a good time because it wasn't traditional, huge and expensive is a problem on your part not theirs.

True, normally if you're Chinese you're expected to hold a wedding with lots of guests and many tables of expensive hotel food serving them.

@@3freezeen yep.. being chinese means you pay upwards of 50k for a wedding including the dress and everything else.
I eloped with my husband last year in December and it was very beautiful with only my dad there to take pictures and give me away, we then drove 3 hours to the mountains to take pictures and after we had a 2 week long honeymoon staying in a remote cabin, exploring mountains and the little towns where we got married. It was around Christmas time so everything was 10x more beautiful. I definitely think more people should elope, it's more magical!!!! Best wishes xoxo

Its so nice to see people getting married for love, I know some girls want the big fancy wedding and the idea of this always freaked me out because it is such a common thing nowdays to go over the top. Honestly that was so flipping awesome. Untraditional never looked so good 😍 this video just oozed true love! Just goes to show that you don't need the expensive dress, the big fancy venue, the expensive decor, the huge reception party to have a special wedding. I've never been one to want to get married purely because the thought of having the traditional big wedding terrified me, as I'm super introverted and have major social aniexty but this showed me that I don't need all that at all, so if I find the right person in the future this is the route I'll be taking. I've seen huge Disney weddings, amazingly expensive ballroom weddings, and have never cried over one, but this one made me cry. It was so refreshing and wholesome way to spend your special day. November was a really shi**y time for me and a lot of bad things happened in succession, so to see so much joy happened at the same time for some reason a) made me cry (good cry) and b) gave me the first real spark of hope I’ve had in a while. Dunno why it’s a total stranger eloping but I just feel your guys’ vibe. I also moved halfway around the world to model when I was 20 and it makes you see things so differently. You guys are so perfect together and I know I’m gonna find someone just right for me too. (My poor cat will just have to share the bed)

My parents didn’t have a grand wedding despite how they both came from well off families. Everyone knew they were getting married, but only their best friends went to the wedding. My mom wore a pretty white suit and a carried a nice bouquet. They could have afforded a much grander wedding, but opted on something incredibly small and simple. Weddings don’t really matter in the long run, and if the wedding being grand or being simple holds a different level of significance to the people getting married, then the likelyhood is that they shouldn’t be getting married. You don’t have a wedding because you’re getting married. You’re getting married so you’re having a wedding.
I’m getting married this year too! We’re literally having our parents and siblings at the wedding and that’s it. I love the idea of just a simple small wedding. You guys looked wonderful by the way ❤️
