You will not see white sand beaches here, restaurant reviews, beach parties, selfies or Japanese knives. What you will find is factual information based on decades of sailing experience.
My channel is specifically meant for one thing and one thing only, to help YOU find your new to you fancy-dancy yacht of your dreams and get on the water in the fastest, most time efficient manner.
Don’t get caught up in looking at old boats! I focus on mostly newer vessels, built in 2000 or later because I want you to spend as much of your time as possible sailing, not practicing your restoration skills on an old boat attempting to bring it to its former glory.
You want to take advantage of the amazing newer technology and modern hull designs when it comes to sailing. This is going to make your vessel far easier to sail solol or short handed and make them far more comfortable and efficient to live aboard full time or even just weekenders without buying more boat than you need.
I offer a wide variety of services including consulting where I will take you through the entire process of how to budget properly, choosing what vessel size will work for your needs, what type of vessel, I will help you shop for vessels, determine offer prices, schedule surveys, talk with brokers, teach you how to do your own pre-survey, walk you through hiring the correct surveyor and help you avoid all of the common pitfalls that you will find when purchasing used sailing vessels.
The consulting does not stop there, I will be with you every step of the way and long after you have purchased your vessel as consulting also comes with lifetime access to the members area,.

I would not pick up a catamaran if I am looking for a budget sailboat. It just does not work in my brain. However, if you are always on anchor... maybe, but I do not want to pay the marina fee for a cat when I am on a "budget"
In Europe, prices are coming down a bit as well, it is good to see, to be honest, many Jeanneau sun odyssey 36i hit the market in the past few weeks around the UK and Greece around 60-75k.

Happen to be over on a sailing channel, I know you hate them but he had something very important to us all I think. SSL -- Rick Moore in the last few days interviewed a person who's boat ended up with a run away motor that caught on fire and sunnk his boat... something I think we all should be ready for. 🤙🤙🤙
I bought a hole in the ground but was great for around the great lakes. Going up to the 50k mark is what I plan on spending to build a boat. I have time, labor, saw, and a forest. 7 years till I retire and stop doing marine services and construction for others. I am building a cottage this summer so can sell current house when finished. Then I can start building a boat. Too many people sell every thing to go sailing. I want a place to go home to if the boat sinks. That catamaran looks worse than the old C&C we had. I wouldn't trust it on Lake Superior.
Looked at 2 " dumpsters " yesterday $8000.00 a piece. Just goofing off dinghy riding. Almost insulting some one would think another that dumb, or just a shyster him/ herself. Sound truthful advice here. Maybe one day the dumpsters around will get parts salvaged and cleaned away from waterways, anchorages, reefs and boatyards. A very good thing you're honest and solid here. Sailing is somewhat addictive, see people sell themselves living on a nasty boat being drunk all the time motoring 95% of the time--- sad.

I would avoid a beater boat at all costs. I'm an older guy and I don't want to spend years in the boatyard fixing things. Especially with the difficulty of getting things now. But for some people, it might be the right move.
How do you work around getting the $20,000 sailboat? If i was going to get a cheap sailboat, how can getting a cheap sailboat work for me? Not sure if im saying this right.
