You mean like clips? Not sure about that one but not sure why you would want to. The clip less body mounts on the truck double as shock towers and removing them or switching them to something different would effect durability significantly. If your having trouble with the clip less system I recommend practicing. It gets way easier and is very effective. Hope this helps!
@@RCMANIAC-YT do you do hard bashing with it? I've been getting really mixed reviews. Some people seem to love it some people think it sucks. Has it been working well for you? I also run trenchers and I have an 1100 KV motor
HEY BRO, JUS SAW UR CHANNEL AN SUBBED. CONCERNING THE BELT DRIVE; ISN'T THE CONSTANT STRESS PULLING ON THE MOTOR FROM THE BELT GOING TO WREAK HAVOC ON UR BEARINGS THO?! HAS IT CAUSED U ANY ISSUES THUS FAR? I MEAN IT SEEMS COOL ENUF IN THEORY.. .. AWESOME VIDEO BRO, THANKS FOR SHARING!
But there is one really big let down for belt drive is that it has this flex, and will have this lagging feeling, the power is not direct feeling anymore, luckily it is not drastic, according to my testing with wfo gears, and wfo belt drive
I've had mine for several months now and haven't had to replace yet so I'd say several months at least but I wouldn't be surprised if it was more than a year!
It depends I personally would say it's worth it but there is the downside of if you really give it some juice then sometimes the belt will slip but it sounds cool drives smooth and works great for 98% of normal driving
The difference is gears can break as for this a belt may break after a long period of time but it is much cheaper to replace, also in my opinion the sound the belt makes is cooler then the grinding/clanking of the gears. Now the only downside to a belt is depending on how powerful your motor is you may run into having a little belt slip. Hope this helps, let us know if you have any more questions!
I'm not quite sure what u mean, if your referring to the grinding the shaft then yes that's what your supposed to do, second, yes this belt drive is specifically made for the car...
@@RCMANIAC-YT good for you, every comment leads to different opinions. Mine is i think its a stupid mod, other people might like some don’t simple as that. You post a video, YOUR viewers will comment and thats what you get. Lol
I honestly like how my 1.5 mod gears sound. AGGRESSIVE and ready to tear up through anything 🤣
Haha yeah they sound great too!
New to Traxxas and went for the King. Great vid! and great alternative! 👍
Great Choice!
@@RCMANIAC-YT different question. do you know if I can use traditional body mounts/ posts with hooks on the XMaxx?

What if you have to adjust the belt ?
what is the thickness of the shim platforms under the motor?
That’s dope
What about stepping on the thottle trigger. Probably not as snappy as direct gears
Nice video, just discovered your channel, thumbs up and subbed!
Appreciate it man
hello can you count how many teeth there are on a small gear and on a large one. Thank you.
Great job man.... I'm considering giving belt drive a try... I have the 800kv in my xmaxx with wfo mod 1.5 d bore gears
The mod 1.5 gears are great although so is the belt and the belt sounds really cool!
@@RCMANIAC-YT wonder how the belt would be with 800kv?? Btw I just subbed to ya man 🍻 stop by my channel sometime ❗
hey mate! does someone sell a ready to use belt drive kit for the stock motor? I do not have any grinders or anything to modify parts...thank you!
I'm sure u could find one somewhere, I don't personally know of any but it might be better to go buy a file and just use the normal set up
I feel your pain using those tiny Allen keys. Get some good drivers man! And a electric driver it makes it so much easier!!!
Nicely edited mate!
Thank you!
Such a wonderful presentationo,, howw did u make it ??? :)
Great video!!👍💪
Thanks!
Where did you find the parts to do that it so smooth I love it

Hey are you still running this belt drive? I just ordered one because I can't seem to keep the mod 1 gears from stripping no matter what I do.
I am yes
@@RCMANIAC-YT do you do hard bashing with it? I've been getting really mixed reviews. Some people seem to love it some people think it sucks. Has it been working well for you? I also run trenchers and I have an 1100 KV motor
Yes I do and it works great u may have to tinker around with it a bit to get it dialed in but yes I believe it works great
@@RCMANIAC-YT awesome. Good to hear. I got the feeling that people that have problems with them probably just aren't setting them up right.
Yea I'm thinking that's the case!
Is that a stock moter
really cool. just curious where you got the belt things?
Wfo racing

You got my like at the roundabout I hate them things
Haha!

Thanks bro! As far as the bearings I'm sure it does add a little stress but I'm yet to have any issues! I highly recommend 👌
Nice video! What is the benefit of a belt drive? Is it more efficient or just quieter?
It looks cool sounds cool, dont quote me on this but I believe it's more durable then standard gears, and its cheaper to replace then upgraded gears
I'm wondering the same thing...and what the cost would be to do it.
$50 from WFO:

But there is one really big let down for belt drive is that it has this flex, and will have this lagging feeling, the power is not direct feeling anymore, luckily it is not drastic, according to my testing with wfo gears, and wfo belt drive
I believe they still have it just out of stock
Very nice ❤👌
Thank you!
I saw people also doing this with the stock motor......is the beltdrive in itself an upgrade?
Yes I would say so, the gearing ratio is a little higher so it does go faster but it's overall pretty great
@@RCMANIAC-YT longer lasting than cogwheels?
So after 11 months, what is the verdict? Is it worth upgrading to this? How is the car control? Notice any differences?
I would say so! I would highly recommend if you have the stock power system still then upgrade that otherwise yes its worth it!
@@RCMANIAC-YT what size pullies are you running? And can you give me the belt size (part number)? I want to see how much it will cost to replace them.
@@RCMANIAC-YT where did you get your belt conversion?
I enjoyed a great video let's be friends. 🤗
우리 친구 해요. :)
Is xmaxx stock?
👍🏻💪🏻💪🏻👍🏻
What type of motor upgrade would you do next?
Max 5 and 1100 or 800kv motor
1100kv will wake that monster up .
Yep just got max 5 and 800kv also now at 25/30 gearing so stay tuned for that video!
Cool video. What set up did you use? And gear ratio?
Stock 8s motor with max 6 but I'll probably swap with HW 800kv and max 5 as far as gearing I'm not positive but it is a fairly aggressive ratio
What sized rollers did you go with here?
If u mean the pulleys it was 15/25 but I've now gotten the max 5 combo and am now running 25/30
If u mean the pulleys it was 15/25 but I've now gotten the max 5 combo and am now running 25/30
@@RCMANIAC-YT Exactly what i meant. The Max 5 with 56113 800kv motor? Would like to know what kind of temps you get out of that combo.
I don't have a fan on it but so far I haven't gotten it to overheat, it gets fairly warm on a hard run but not to hot
can it still do wheelies if i belt drive it?
Absolutely
It'll do standing back flips
Stock traxxas motor still?
Not for much longer but yes, definitely a little aggressive
How long does the belt lasts?
I've had mine for several months now and haven't had to replace yet so I'd say several months at least but I wouldn't be surprised if it was more than a year!
@@RCMANIAC-YT ohhh I think that's better than a mesh gears right?
What’s the ratio?
15/30, a bit aggressive for the stock motor but doable, my stock motor is gonna get a hobbywing swap soon so it's fine for now 👍
So is it worth it?!? You never gave a review or opinion of it
It depends I personally would say it's worth it but there is the downside of if you really give it some juice then sometimes the belt will slip but it sounds cool drives smooth and works great for 98% of normal driving
Why run a belt vs gears?
The difference is gears can break as for this a belt may break after a long period of time but it is much cheaper to replace, also in my opinion the sound the belt makes is cooler then the grinding/clanking of the gears. Matter of fact why dont you upgrade your x maxx to a submarine lol😂😂😂
My guy… why you hatin. Ever heard of a belt drive x-maxx before? News flash it’s a thing.
@@RCMANIAC-YTnope and will never be.
Your crazy! If your actually serious look it up, definitely a thing
@@RCMANIAC-YT no need to. Thanks blocked and muted 😂
I don't get you man
that is quieter
Yep
So pointless and it weaker then the straight cut gear setup.
Not necessarily true
I did that with intention of switching power systems to the max 5 and 800kv and it works great on that set up
First off you just weakened that shaft, second that shit is not made for belt drive lol good luck tho for you ingenuity nonsense

Why would anyone mess with a good drive system already? You’re introducing complexity and an unreliable system into the xmax🤷🏻♂️
