    For anyone watching this that hates when their Xmaxx body pops off, I have a solution. I bought some black latex tubing for slingshots, tied it to the inner roll cage at the base of the windshield and just in front of the rear latch system. Do that on the left side and the right side. When you put the body on like normal you can reach up under and grab the tubing, pull it down under the Center of the chassis and hook it on the opposite side rock sliders. This will create a cross cross under the chassis that won’t let your body pop off if you tube is tight enough.

    It's nice for people that don't have multiple rc cars but for me personally I didn't buy my xmaxx for handling corners at high speeds I'm all about straight on big jumps Back flips and skate parks Xmaxx has a high center of gravity with its chassis design so no
    Matter what it's always gonna be more likely to
    Roll But I feel those longer arms will have more of a chance to snap on big landings So for now I'm sticking with my stock length Especially since I have other cars like the kraton Notorious Maxx with a widekit Etc

    The problem that I have found with the wide kit is that if you want to use m2c’s extended hubs which let you have a steeper steering angle and also make it wider for those who don’t want it too wide, it will litterally be ugly to look at because of how wide it is. And since I am a basher I don’t think the wide arms are good for hard landings. Another thing is that the shocks positioning on the arm is a lot more towards the middle which puts the arm under an even more snapping force when landing hard. I have broken more than a few arms with it, I also thought it looked cool until I didn’t. I don’t have a wide kit any more.

    you can’t compare crap with a wide kit and 80 wt. oil versus stock width and 30 wt. oil. Oil alone makes a huge difference on an X-Maxx. You broke your arms because of the thicker oil. Hinge mounts take allot more force with thicker oil.

    I'm really glad Traxxas finally put out a wide kit for the Xmaxx. It's pretty clear that it's more stable, what I really want to know now is just how durable it is. I have a feeling the extra leverage is going to cause it to fail easier than with the stock arms and lets face it- Traxxas could have accounted for this with stronger wide arms but then they wouldn't sell as many spares... I have a feeling it's going to turn out substantially weaker than stock...

    • @TheFatAssCat
      @TheFatAssCat Před 2 lety

      Back of the napkin maths gives about 11% more torque on the hinge pins from the added 30mm of leverage. So not a substantial reliability hit for the gained stability.
