    Yeah 25/35 gearing is what the 1100kv motor should run. I think I tried running 25/30 on the HW Max 5 and 1100kv motor combo since that's the only spur gear that I had at that moment. My Max 5 hit thermal very quickly. So I went back to 25/35 gearing. Great video as usual. They should have added a support at the end of the motor TBH

I already ran into an issue with that little support piece that goes on the end of the shaft. The motor mount extends above that slot where it goes a little bit. I can't believe it, but actually destroyed a wfo 25t pinion over the weekend running a dirt course hard. My mesh was fine so that's not it. My theory is that heat and friction from continual usage such as running circles on dirt track hard over and over contributed to the break down. Most people are bashing and not running continual power. I'm now greasing the pinion and spur and running the larger cover to minimize the amount of dirt getting in there. Anyone else try greasing these gears to minimize heat and friction?

    @SebastianLong Před 2 lety

    You know, the X-Maxx shouldn't need the upgrade to 1.5 mod as it SHOULD come with them in the first place. I've seen 1/10 scale RCs with 1.5 (can't recall what it was atm) and most 1/6 scale and up come with 1.5. I know my Losi's and Arrma do. I don't like how that gear is relying on a small drive pin. You'd think it would have some kind of spline system like the outdrive going into the diffs do. I've have way too many drive pins snap off in multiple RCs. One specific I can remember is the drive pin sheered of in my rear axle on the UDR. Couldn't extract it out of the axle and it took out the axle housing and the aluminum foh disk brake hex. Have them break on my Super Rock Rey axles a lot and I bought 100 extra for it.

    Right now I’m running the xlx2 with the 1100kv hobbywing. I got B&m gears 20/35. Wonder what I can gear it up to? I was thinking keeping my spur 35 and going 25 pinion. One thing about b&M is the gears aren’t too strong. I already broke a tooth on a spur gear and I now replaced with a WFO 35spur gear.

      Well Vitavon has 20/30 and these 25/30. For the smaller 1100kv the 20/30 would be good. I like these 25/30 though.

    Man that's great! I have have the same Vitavon Setup now with a Leopard 58113 V2 1050kv! 😁😃
    Will change from 25/30 to 25/35 because of heat issues with the Max5.
    How tight do you align the gears? Do you leave some space between the teeth or do you set them close together?

      Did you ever switch to 25/35 gears? I have 1100kv motor with mamba x with 25/30 gears. Haven't ran it yet. You got me worried about heat

    Thinking maybe doing the 20/30, but Ill need to get this motor mount too right?

      I didn’t put a GPS on it. I’d guess maybe 50-54 in a grass field.
