I can handle more weight with bicep work than tricep work. Do you suggest keeping the same weight and thereby undertrain biceps, or superset using 2 different weights?

I am in my 50s and do similar exercises as part of a whole body workout, 2 to 3 times a week. Personally, I would start at 2 times a week (alternating days) and after a few months, 3 times a week. When older, rest for the joints and muscles is highly important.

@@musicman7297 unfortunately, you have posted this deranged outburst on another thread that does not contain that comment to which you are referring. To respond, ask any surgeon which upper resistance exercises are riskiest for older adults and cause the most pec strains and tears and they will most likely say to minimise flyes and #1 being bench presses for those older and/or those newer to training. Thousands of pec tears in North America occur each year. In fact, doing light rehab using these exercises is good but no surgeon is going to recommend doing flyes for older beginners on a bench. Most will most likely suggest doing on the ground where range of motion is limited when weights get heavier relative to strength.

you keep baby-stepping us and talking to us like we have never seen a gym. The "bicep curl only-guy" is a myth and you know it. The 1st thing you are told by anyone, to the point it is a constant. is you work your triceps for arm strength / size, not your biceps. i've been harsh, love the channel just finding it a bit "pre-school" only. I'm past needing to be baby talked. i need to be pushed.
