Great job Kurt!!! That was a lot of work, but you can tell already that it's going to turn out awesome!!
It amazes me how well you balance everything in your life. Between work, being a husband and father, metal detecting, fishing and crabbing, and then editing and producing for 2 CZcams channels! Absolutely remarkable! I really appreciate all that you do, and thank you!!
Thanks John. I appreciate the support
Kurt you rocked it. Instead of buying a new or better boat you fixed your old faithful. Waste not want not. Can’t wait to see the new carpet and seats you have planned for her. Keep up the great work..
God bless back at yea.
Looks like the hard part is done! I love it when I hear a random A-Team reference 😂
The end is in sight. Your getting closer to enjoying fishing and boating with family and friends. Keep up the great work Kurt.
Thanks!
Bro! I sweat from my head like no other on the planet. Thanks for the sleeve hack
Haha! It definitely helps. Not as absorbent as a sweat band bit it works in a pinch
Your craftsmanship is excellent. Thanks for the vid.
Thank you!
Am about to start mine on my 16 ft bayliner capri. All the floor needs to come out.
Yay! The floor is in! You look whipped bro. That is a good kind of tired. Looking forward to the next one.
It's funny watching the video. Cutting out all the running around the house with the wood. I was definitely whipped
That Looks Fantastic Kurt it's turning out Great. Can't wait to see you fishing out of it.
Hats off sir
One huge step closer. Nicely done. Thanks for sharing and take care. ✌
Thanks for this Kurt. Never knew what went into reflooring a boat ! Looks like your doing it “right” nice’
As a retired shipwright, nice job Kurt !
Please place your respirator in a sealed zip lock bag when your done using it . It keeps the carbon more active . Replace your cartridges when needed . That’s the safety officer in Me . Stay safe !
Much appreciated! Thanks
Just stumbled upon your channel. I plan on doing a similar project. Not sure how difficult the process is, but you might think about creating a playlist that includes all the videos related to your restoration. I’m sure folks would enjoy seeing all that content in one place. Cheers.
Thanks! I plan to do that soon. Good luck!
Nice job on this important step. Looking forward to the next step. Very cool video series. Thanks for posting.
Lol good job! Made me laugh a few times 😂. Came to see how hard it is to replace a boat floor… looks like a lot of work. Way to get it done!
Thank you for the support!
Great job and video...loved the Spidey-section, too! Awesome work and thanks for sharing.
Awesome job Kurt good to see you using a mask too .I am one of the safety people at my work.
This is gonna be a thing of beauty.
What an elaborate job you did ! Looks like a professional did it Kurt , WOW it's Amazing and should last you Many Years , Props to you my Friend !!! Dirt Hawk Ya'll !!!!
SO EXCELLENT KURT!!!... LOVE IT!!! GOD BLESS YOU...
Excellent work my man! Be rippin lips in no time!! 🤘
I have the 21" version but the same exact boat and will be doing the same thing. Thank you for doing these videos I'm going to follow your exact plans.
Good luck with your project!
@@MentalHealthDay82 I may not go as far as you did. My seats are all in great shape and the floor plan works for me. I like how you ditched the carpet in favor of the fiberglass and coating with non-skid paint floor. One question I have is; how will water drain to the bilge with your floor being basically water tight and did you consider adding deck drains to allow water to flow to the bilge?
@@MentalHealthDay82 I was just wondering if you ever finished this project? I finally started my floor about 4 weeks ago. All the rainy days are really slowing me down. New floor is in, edges and seams are "peanut buttered" and the 6" tabbing is complete. Hoping to get a layer of glass over the deck this week. I'm going to sand, skim over the high spots with some compound, prime and paint. I'll finish it of with some EVA foam board.
Looking great Kurt, hell of a job man!
This has become quite the project and learning experience. You'll be ready to do everyone's boat on the block. LOL Nice work! Doing it right once, is better than numerous times poorly. :)
Definitely one of those things I hope to never do again. Haha
How u like me now? That humor bro got you a new subscriber.I have a Bayliner 20 foot and am putting the floor down. Thanks for the motivation
Good luck!
Nice work spidey
Proud! Nice work. Merry Christmas!
Thankyou for sharing. You're so funny! Lol The problem I have in 93 Chaparral is the entire center had no studs or subflooring to attach the new floor.
Wow. Great job.
Great job. Enjoyed it.
Looking good!👍🏻
WOW!!! An amazing video Kurt. Awesome info shared. I even learned a few things. Thanks Bud. Keep up the How To videos. Hope you and your Family enjoy the Holiday Season. Merry Christmas
Thanks! You too
Looks great.
Great vid! Learning a lot!
Nice good for you you do it yourself!!
awesome series man, im about to start on my own project in my boat!!!! picked up some tips and tricks for sure!!
Good luck!
Great looking job. It all fit great.
Thanks!
Dude great video. I'm getting ready to start doing this to my boat. How many days would you say it too to completely replace the floors. I'm just trying to get an idea. To restore the whole boat I am thinking it will be years but you made this look easier then I thought it would be. Thanks bud!
Hard to say. I did it when I had time too. It wasn't hard work. Definitely time consuming. Have to start somewhere. Good luck
It looks like you left a strip of the original floor around the outsides? I’ve been wondering how people tie into the side walls
Hello sir nice work
Hi Kurt, Starting my own Bayliner rebuild, I was wondering how much of the Marine grade plywood should I order? By the way I love your Videos, funny as well as informative. Thanks😎😀🤙
I wanna see from the beginning of it
Maybe next time you can put that peanut butter in a bag and cut the corner so you can squeeze it out
Great job. What wood did you use? Marine grade plywood or pressure treated?
Marine grade
Just gutted my floor now, this floor looks amazing, still have a lot to remove, the floor was done wrong way 😢
Did you use marine plywood or just treated plywood? Looks nice
Marine
Do you have a link to part 1
Did you price out Penske/Coosa composite board before settling on marine ply? Any pinhole breach in your resin encapsulation would never become an issue. Although the work that you put in is far and away better than what Bayliner did at the factory. Eat your lunch
Yeah. It was out of control expensive
Clean up the ground and take your trash with ya why? Cuz all holes matter! Haha I’ve been a sub for yrs an yrs now!
Thank you for the support
Why is there no peanut butter at the far edges underneath the floor?
You have it on top of all the stringers and bulkheads.
Hey Kurt , did you fabricate those wooden pieces yourself or did you use a template by chance ? I am doing the same project , thanks !
I used foam board as a template. That way I didn't mess up my wood if I made a mistake. I talk about it on the video prior about my plans
@@MentalHealthDay82 thanks , didn’t know there was a prior video , watching it now ! Thanks man !
What type/brand of epoxy resin did you use??
Where you buy marine grade plywood
I am about to do my 92 Rinker Captiva Floor, I would love to reach out to you for some help and advice if you would be willing!
I got a question instead of the “peanut butter” can’t you just use fiber glass filler or long strand filler for cars ???? Isn’t it the same concept ????
What’s the ratio of resin:silica:fibers??
Do you think Kurt noticed the 'flaw' in this video? :-)
What's that?
@@MentalHealthDay82 flaw = 'floor'. English humor can be tricky ;-)
Your last floor piece went down with the grain the wrong way. It will dag under weight compared to the other side
that is a lot of work. days. and its mid summer. materials are expensive now. At least working with epoxy you do have to rush like a mad man
Hope you using dust mask protects your lungs from that powdered fiberglass
