If you ever sell the boat these videos will probably increase the value by quite a bit.
It will probably be the last Bayliner on the water. 👍👍
You are rebuilding much better than new construction out of the factory.
Haha! Thanks
Theorizing that if the Bayliner factory had been this "nitpicky", your very good work may not have been necessary. No matter, I really enjoy learning how it is done!
True that!
I have the 2000 Bayliner Capri 1952, and I also had the soft spot above the fuel tank. I cut it out and installed my marine plywood that I encapsulated with fiberglass. Fit like a glove. Now I an finding the same soft spots as you found, but not in the front or under the seats. This winter I am going to gut it like you did and install a new floor from behind the seats to the aft battery boxes. I like what you did with the floor, but I am not a captain's chair fan, so i am going to leave the fold-down seats. Excellent videos. Kepp up the good work.
Awesome! Good luck with the project
Great bedtime video. Looking great Kurt, should be a grand boat once again, once you’ve finished. Enjoying your step by step process.
Appreciate the support! Night
Thanks! Great morning video. God bless.
Thanks! God bless
I just got the floor up on my boat and found wet foam and rot. I'll be doing a similar job and i can't thank you enough for shining a light on what I'm getting God bless and thanks
Good luck!
Frankly I love watching you makeover the boat. It’s very interesting to see. I think your doing a Hell of a good job.
Thanks Susan
I've really enjoyed watching your excellent videos from which I have learnt a great deal in support of the works I have planned for restoring a sailboat. HUGE THANK YOU, and best of luck for all your projects. Cheers. Alan Yardley
Love hearing that. Best of luck to you!
What a great job that you are doing on this build Kurt! Attention to details is key to any job of this size and sort! Thank you for sharing and teaching us all!
The boat is coming out great Kurt! Cant wait to see the end result!
Looking Good Captain Kurt!!! ⚓🚤 🌊 🌊 🍻
Put down the metal detector, and just start repairing boats!! lol I love this project. It's coming along nicely. 👍
Hahaha
That looks GREAT Kurt now if they would have only put this much effort into it when they built it. I can't wait to see how it turns out.
So fun following the progress!!
Moving right along Kurt!
Learning on the fly. Love it. If you wanted to fill small voids like that with more control you could use the spray foam that comes in a can. Meant for filling voids around door and window jams in a house. It fills small voids with more control and precision and then your other foam batch would just fill up to it. But I am sure you will do just fine with your current plan and design. Love the video series. Thanks again for sharing and being creative and willing to try cool projects. This stuff is inspiring to others and empowers people to be resourceful and repair things themselves. Love it.
Appreciate you showing all these steps. Interesting to watch. And like yourself, I'm very detailed also. I def can relate to how important it is to take your time, measure twice cut once.. etc etc. And in the end it's going to be a solid finished product. Looking forward to the next step.
Thanks!
Looking good man! You got some wood working & fiberglass skills!
Nice work Kurt !
I love your videos. You have t ok deal with all the same little issues I did but stoll made it work. Love it
Thanks!
Great job! I am actually looking at the same bayliner for sale around here that needs the same thing done, so your videos are a great help in planning. I would attach the sandwiched reinforcement to the box then drill holes all the way through and use t-nuts and bolts to attach the pedestal. That way they are more secure and can be taken off later.
That would have been a great idea
Nice work Kurt. God Bless.
Your very talented. Thank you for sharing.
Looking good!
Thanks David
Looking great. Attention to detail is definitely key to this project and you look to have that mastered. Take care ✌
Looking good great job
Waiting for next video!
Why do I get the feeling you are a football coach? 😂🤘🏻
Haha! Don't know. Never coached anything. I do love football
Awesome job Kurt go eat your lunch!!!!
Very cool project. What are the 2 plugs at the back of the boat beside your left arm right at the beginning? I have a 2001 and dont have those.
I'm wondering why didn't you use Composite PVC as you did for the johnboat. You would have avoided the effort and cost of applying the fiber glass.
Thought about it but didn't think it would take the abuse
Great job very time consuming
