    One card I find works really well with Suships is Xyz Gift. If you control 2 or more Xyz Monsters, you can use it to discard 2 Xyz Materials from monsters you control to draw 2 cards. I use it all the time in my Utopic Future deck since it’s a great way to gain advantage while making use of Xyz Material that would go to the grave anyway when I summon a Utopic Future.

    When Cimo made his video on Suships, he was actually able to read the kanji on the Roll Specials trap card, and he predicted that the next cards would be Urchin and Icefish. And what do you know, Konami actually managed to foreshadow upcoming cards in a clever way. But since those 3 were the only ones on the card, it’s still a mystery as to what the next ones will be.

      Hoping for another Rank 5 (with an effect monster to go along with it of course) and maybe a Rank 6 "true boss" monster that you can slap ontop of the others, personally. That and a new spell/trap or two just to round out the backrow (that'd be 4-5 new cards, bringing the archetype up to 13-14 cards total).

    I only noticed now, but am amused and pleased by, the existence of a FIRE Thunder monster who seems to be reminiscent of heat/volcanic lightning. And, quite frankly, I like it. A few more things to ponder about the lore:
    *Everybody* who sees Clavis thinks he's Avram. Is there something there, or are they just blonde? I mean, I've heard someone claim Garesvet looks like an Orcust, and I can kinda see it, but only kinda? Is it really Kingdom Hearts, where all of these worlds _would_ be independent, but Clavis is drawing from all of them? Actually, that might be plausible; Batosbuster has a Millennium/ancient Egyptian eye on the little ammo container on the side, and Ansya-Labolas looks very familiar, but I couldn't tell you what from - maybe Myutant?
    I... don't think Lock takes place after returning from being Transfurmine. I think it takes place right after Battle, where Clavis has won (the monster that's dissolving has tentacle hair and is much more hunched over than Tranfurmine), but he has what looks like it might be an Evil Eye embedded into his hand, along with a pattern of cracks much like those Tranfurmine has on his hands. I think the horn by Clavis's head is appearing, not disappearing, hence Mafteah's shock.
    What's with Clavis's right hand? In Bound Magikeys and on the original Clavis card, it rather distinctly looks like either a full-hand glove or a prosthetic hand that's strapped on. In Lock, he's not wearing any gloves at all on either hand (but still has that Omnitrix thing, which _isn't_ from Mafteah, since it's on the original Skyblaster). On Weparthu, it's _slightly_ similar, but the hand looks really weird, and his _left_ hand looks like it's made out of water. I think we really have to figure out who/what Weparthu is. (Also, I don't think Weparthu's eye is red; I think we're just seeing it through a ghostly targeting reticule/HUD.)

    • @GoldenNovaYugioh
      @GoldenNovaYugioh  Před 3 lety +1

      I can't say I have a lot of answers for this, but I DO think that the events after Lock - Lock show BOTH the aftermath of Battle AND Clavis coming out of the Transfurmine mode. I think Clavis became that big monster to fight off whatever the Battle creature is, and then transformed back after the, well, Battle. So I think all the things we see on him, (the veins and the big horn on the opposite side of their head from the POV) are the last vestiges of Transfurmine as they come out of the transformation.
      I can't really parse their expression, though. Exhaustion? Regret? Hard to tell right now.

  • @BramLastname
    @BramLastname Před 2 lety +9

    Suship not being able to discard is a bit of a pain,
    But I think they'll get a Cucumber ship in their lineup,
    And who knows, maybe that one discards a material to discard all material of an Xyz monster.
    (Yes that's really gimmicky, but so are most of the cards in the archetype)
    As for Magikey the idea they might be connected to evil eye is cool,
    But as you said there might also be connections with invoked or other archetypes,
    So maybe it's actually a Darklord with a Yubel equip card, likely not, but still possible.

    Transfurmine could be a mistranscription from the Japanese... It could also be written as Transfulmine. "Fulmine" means "lightning bolt" in Italian, and given the fact that the monster is holding one and is a thunder type... Well it could be.
    I know that it doesn't mean anything, buuuut...

    • @BILOUUU59
      @BILOUUU59 Před 3 lety +4

      Makes sense! Though after more thoughts, this name is actually super easy to understand :)
      1) Trans" like "Transformation" as we can see Clavis returning back into his human form in the artwork of "Magikey Lock - Lock" which means he TRANSFORMED into this monster.
      2) "Fur" like "Furfur" a demon of Solomon's Key, which Magikey is obviously inspired from.
      3) "mine" like you said, Italian for Thunderbolt, because this monster IS Thunder-Type and wields a thunderbolt. Could also come from the French verb "Fulminer" which can mean, "explosion" (this monster is FIRE Attribute remember) or "burst in rage" (again, Clavis transformed into Tranfurmine to battle the unknown Lion-like monster), amongst other meanings.

    I want to talk about Weparthu's effect, specifically "you can detach 1 material from this card; make your opponent send their battling monster to the graveyard"
    I also play MTG and the way i read Weparthu's 2nd effect i read it as such : this targets the player, to sacrifice their battling monster. Weparthu does not say "(Quick Effect) detach 1 material; destroy the monster battling with Weparthu".
    If my reading is correct then Weparthu can bypass shit like Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon or Blue Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon AKA "This card is not affected by other card effects" monsters AKA bypasses the target immune cards via affecting the player instead as long as they have the right attribute in their GY....... HOLY SHIT

      Maybe it's just me, but dam that card really wants a lot for an effect that's almost the same (if not worse) as catastor.

      Use refined ritual art (dawn of magesty) and a normal monster from hand to summon lv4 ritual. The ritual searches the field spell which in turn searches the tuner (or lv8 ritual) and mapthea. Summon the tuner, activate effect to sumon normal monster from the gy, go into sinchro and set battle or one of the summon cards (using the other tuner as tribute). Or use mapthea to summon lv8 ritual by sending the lv 4 ritual + a normal monster from deck (pick the best attribute). Depending on your hand you can end up on a full board and a stacked gy ready for action.
      Pre-preparation of rites can search refined art, manju of the ten thousand hands can do that too and search the level 8 ritual. You can also summon the level 8 ritual with refined but it gets shuffled back into the deck during the opponent's end phase.
      You'd want to have at least 4 extra level 4 normal monsters asides from Clavis.
      A wind (luster dragon), a fire (metalfoes gold diver), a water (megalosmasher) and an earth (gene warped)
      Glavis is dark and the tuner is light so you'll be covered with just these 4 at 1 and a playset of Glavis.

    really hope this archetype gets more support, I love all the different kinds of summoning and the character theme, but without haliq/auradon engine, its just really hard to keep the resources and board running, not to mention the clunky ritual stuff and search magics needed in the deck.
    I hope they get a link monster or some support cards to either ease the ritual summon (which is the start of the combo) or recycle the components used to special summoned better to prepare for a next turn play. quite often I find myself ending up with nothing on hard or not the right stuff to keep the game going, not to mention hand trap interupts
    While the effects of the boss mons are not bad at all, they lack self-protection to stand long enough on the field to generate enough advantage, and after emptying your hand to summon them theres not much you can do next turn when your opponent likely wipes the most of them. it feels almost like an untuned version of Skystrikers

    when I see these new Magikey cards are interesting addition to buff up the archetype... but also the impact of the story... In my opinion, Clavis was trying to get or tame Transfurmine but it appears he's failed because its too strong... so the Maphteah manage to stop and lock the beast... after that, Maphteah sees a little worried about Clavis after he seeing him some strange after the battle... and I think he's been posssesed by some unnamed force during that battle...

    • @BILOUUU59
      @BILOUUU59 Před 3 lety

      That's an interesting point of view! Personally had a different one
      The blue lion-like monster on "Magikey Battle" and that we can see collapsing on "Magikey Lock - Lock" isn't actually Transfulmine, as both monsters have a completely different mouth structure, weapon and hairstyle, with Transfulmine having the exact same than Clavis.
      So I think that Clavis transformed into Transfulmine (hence the 'Trans' part in the monster's name) and their battle ended in "Magikey Lock - Lock" where you can see the monster has died and Clavis reverts back to his human form with fiery scars left from his transformation
      But the 2 monsters could still have a relation! maybe Mafteah helped to channel the form of the Blue monster in order to let Clavis transform? (explains why Mafteah is glowing on the art of Battle)

      Either way, Transfulmine is 100% Clavis as they have the same hairs and all Extra Deck/Ritual Monster of the archetype depict Clavis in some way or have Clavis interacting with them
      (Ritual : Clavis Summons weapons, Fusion : Clavis Summons Beasts, Synchro : Clavis mutates/transform into something?, Xyz : Clavis gets possessed by a Spirit)

      Example : Magikey Lock - Unlock shows Clavis opening the door where Ansya-Labolas resides, so basically it's the Fusion Magikey Lock
      Which would mean that Magikey Lock - Lock would be the Synchro Magikey Lock, because we can see Clavis reverting from Transfulmine into his human form
      Because why a random monster be treated as a Magikey and support the archetype? it doesn't make sense, the blue monster is their enemy not their friend so if Transfulmine was really the blue monster why would it support Magikey

      @@BILOUUU59 maybe i can believe with that.. if i combine my theory with that particular scene... maybe Maphteah transforms itself to his spirit form and tune with Clavis to become Transfurmine... then after that battle, they de-sync to their original forms... but something happen to Clavis that affects him after the battle with that mysterious creature.. within the time, he was possesed by that spirit...

    • @BILOUUU59

      @@darylmendoza5650 makes sense as Transfurmine needs a "Magikey" Tuner + a Normal Monster as material (so Greater Magikey Mafteahl + Clavis)
      And in Transfurmine's case, to gain his effects he needs monsters with 2 different Attributes, which means Mafteah was included in the transformation (just like with the big Ritual/Fusion)
      So yeah the Mafteah helps with Clavis transforming into the Synchro theory seems right :D
      but why the possesion part? I mean, it does look like Clavis is in bad form, but to say he gets slowly possessed isn't checkable
      he just look tired from his transformation, if we'd get transformed into a big fire ogre that shoots lightnings we'd probably be tired as well lol
      But we'll have to wait and see, maybe you're right!

    Magikey have 4 different way to summon extra deck monster, and different from pendants on the ack of summoning.
    Summon by Ritual, and form of any gun form.
    Summon by Fusion, and summon any mythical beasts.
    Summon by Synchro, and mutant to a more powerful state.
    Summon by Xyz, and being possessed to become more strong.
    They are 72 demon in the lesser key of Solomon, so let put 72 and divide it by 4 that equals to 18. That means we will see a total of 18 monster, with different styles, for each of the special summon, lists above.
    (edit note: I miss coutulated the maths for 72÷4 to being 8, not 18 you know see. My apologies for the miss count.)

      just imagine this way of thought with let's say, Madolche (let's make a monster that represent every single dessert that has ever existed!), Burning Abyss (every single character AND demon of The Divine Comedy) or even Blackwing (EVERY SINGLE WINDS)
      1 of each is already enough

    I hate that the Suships have no pay-off on their own. They make a lot of card advantage but Urchin's negation being at such specific phases make it useless, and they have NOTHING to detach materials. If they were Machines, at least you could use Barrage Blast, but they're not ! So.. realistically... This archetype seems made to turbo out Utopic Future Draco while not losing any CA... It even detaches the materials when you make Future. I can't believe it was not made on purpose. It's a deck made to spam big Xyz like Zeus (with all the battle shenanigans of the Urchin and Roe Xyz) and Draco, instead of being played by itself. In a way this is fitting : the Suships are VESSELS to carry another purpose... they're simply carriers and supply of food for another...
