Controversial but "The Unknown" needs to be in EVERY workplace, to blame problems on and and lighten the mood. I work in retail and it would be so nice to just blame problems on a court jester-like figure, instead of arguing with co-workers or calling a manager when customers complain.

I think that relationship can be parasocial, and maybe we should discuss more ways that people online can set boundaries for community interactions. I work in events and specifically was a head rigger for an arena show- it’s 100% our job to work with the promoter to know where the curtain line was set so we can build the set accordingly. On the odd chance that it doesn’t work out (every building has its problems) it’s the promoters job to kill those seats. That’s all just malpractice, honestly, and honestly shocking that they wouldn’t just relocate anyone who complained, seeing as how there were seats available. Bad promoter, bad building management, bad security policies…

I 100% understand where Jarvis is coming from about festivals. When I was younger and went to festivals, I’d make big playlists where I featured at least 2-5 of each artists biggest hits so I’d know at least some of their songs.

I take lamotrigine for seizures and the first thing I notice if I change/miss a dose is that my brain feels like it's lagging slightly. Like my body starts doing one thing and my mind isn't quite caught up or vice-versa. Mood stabilizers kinda suck ngl.
In regards to the gatekeeping of music, I was wearing a Blink 182 hoodie on the bus and this dude came up to me and was like "pff you're too young to even know blink 182", while I literally had to pause listening to blink to take my headphones off and hear him. Also I'm 24, it's not like I'm a kid or anything like most people my age know who blink 182 is. I will truly never understand music gatekeeping.

just wanted to say to jordan that i TOTALLY get the lamotrigine thing. im on a few medications for a combination of disorders (woo) and lamotrigine, only closely followed by strattera, are the absolute worst to go through not even a day of regularly taking it. the physical withdrawl(chills, nausea, vomiting, migraines, brain zaps, mental fog) sucks ass. glad ur tapering down, and i wish the best for u in ur mental health journey! ❤❤

In the UK I’ve managed to never pay above £75 for an arena show (GA) and I’ve been to arenas and stadiums in London, Manchester and Nottingham. I think part of it is stubbornness like I will categorically not pay above that because I know that is an artist hiking up prices but I saw bring me the horizon and Florence and the machine for £45 face value (£60 with fees) in the last year. Imo >100 should be reserved for festivals only and im especially critical if it’s the home country of an artist playing too like you don’t even have high tour costs

as someone who's been obsessively following the fall out boy stardust tours (2023 & 2024) it's very endearing to hear abt your experience at the concert!!!! like yeah the dog puppet & visuals ARE crazy!!!! it's great!!!! you should look more into the 8ball segment; last year they debuted a ton of their old songs that had never been played live before during the 8ball segment every night. that shit was CRAZY

I went to the 2our dust show in Portland and the set list was so fucking excellent. I loved that the lights matched up with the album cover colors for nearly all of the older stuff, especially the blue lights for Take This To Your Grave songs.
Also I gotta say-giant animatronic snail was not on my list of expected stage decor, but I sure as hell appreciated it! (And the dog of course) 32:36
Funny story about wearing "merch" that doesn't apply to actual interests: My husband got a shirt that said "army" from a second hand store. He is also disabled and has a limp. One day, while wearing the shirt we were exiting an ice cream shop and a man basically sprints across the room to open the door for us. Then as we exit he says "thank you for your service, sir." I immediately stare directly at the ground hoping my husband does not correct this poor well meaning man. Instead he says "Oh, i got this vintage." The interaction ended with some awkward eye contact as everyone processed and then getting out of earshot where we both burst into uncontrollable laughter.

When it comes to early 2000s CRPGS I don't think you can get any better than Planescape Torment (Which is also remastered in the same way as BG1 and 2). One of the greatest RPGs ever made and probably in the top 5 greatest stories in games (highly recommend playing on the easiest difficulty though cause the gameplay is uhh... not really a reason to come back to these games)
I think some people being mean about the oompa loompa lady thought she was one of the scammers? Like before it came out they were all hired actors that were also scammed, I think she was the only person people online saw that worked the event. I’m not positive but I think that’s what could’ve happened

I know exactly what Jarvis is talking about in the sense of feeling like you didn’t do your homework when you don’t know songs at a concert. That’s how I felt at the Jonas Brothers concert. I’m an OG Jonas Brothers fan so I knew like 90% of their music catalogue but I really didn’t know a lot of their new stuff and I felt like I didn’t prepare enough?! It’s just hard being late 20s and trying to keep up with new music and life!

I tend to listen to the podcast in the background and occasionally switch over to watching for like a 10 minute break. I looked over at 34:45 and nearly gave myself a hart attack because of Jordan's tattoo, it was funny in retrospect, but I was so terrified.
