  • Smarty has not officially launched 5G. However, today suddenly the 5G sign popped up on my phone and it was somehow connecting to a 5G band. These speeds are good but cant wait to see what the speeds will be like when Smarty officially launches 5G.
    Also recently my 4G speeds have increased alot from 10mbps to around 50 to 60mbps on a usual day to day basis. Its nice to see Smarty working with Three and improving the networks around my area.
    This video is the second 5G early release speed test on CZcams!!!

    Just to clarify this video was taken a few days before Smarty officially launched 5G. The speeds on the video are great considering I don’t have any close 5G towers in my area. So the people who may say the speeds are very slow considering its 5G. Now you know why.

      @@broski4851 I have not tested it yet. But Smarty did officially launch 5G yesterday…. I will be going to a 5G area and will test it for you definitely 👍🏻

    It bonkers to think of those speeds coming through the airwaves beating my ADSL good and proper, I just wish the ping or latency was less to take advantage of things like cloud gaming etc.Will head to Cardiff soon as I know the sweet spot to get the ultimate 5g coverage :D

      Ahaha! yeah make sure to do a speed test and make a video. I was surprised that Im even getting 100mbps download as I live in a area where there is no 5G coverage 😁…

    Obviously you will get superfast speed because smarty is powered by three
    Cons - slow internet means slow internet in some areas

      Yes Smarty is a MVNO network and is owned by Three, it also piggy backs off the Three Network towers.

    Three must have enabled your area for 5g coverage

      This speed test was taken before Smarty officially launched 5G. I spoke to the customer advisor they said they are doing a few tests but gradually the speeds should increase over time. So yeah your correct. My coverage online is still showing “not available” for 5G. But its probably a new installation.✅

      Don’t worry mate. 5G will be soon everywhere. It is still rolling out to many places. Give it a few more years. It will be coming. Especially that the government has announced that they will be shutting down all 3G towers in the UK by end of 2024. This means it will be replaced with 5G networks.

    I keep my 5g off on my EE sim. It's a terrible gimmick, completely useless. I use 4g+ and i get an average speed of around 300mbps, i live in north London.

      @mazz2001  Před 2 lety +1

      Hahah 😅 don’t worry, 5G infrastructure is still improving and expanding give a year or 2 it will improve. But yeah thats some super fast 4G+ (LTE advanced) speeds you are getting. You must have a 4G tower right next to your house. Lucky 😎

      @@niteblaster1 Thats super speeds. You must be very lucky! Im still using the closest 5G tower far from my house and thats like nearly over 2.5 miles away. Keep in mind this speed test was taken a month before smarty officially launched 5G. I saw multiple Three Engineers in my area, Im hoping they would be installing a 5G tower in my local area soon!

      Also keep in mind this 5G speed test came out before Smarty officially released it. This was a testing stage during this period some users was able to access the network.
