    Are some great cars. However, what has happened to all of the cars that used to be 4 speeds. Also, bracket racing is boring. I remember when Stock, Super Stock, used to be whoever got to the finish line first won. Fortunately there are other racing organizations that have heads up racing. NHRA sucks! Too pricey, too many rules, too political.

      @ChaseMeTV Před 7 lety +3

      Bracket racing is where it's at. All heads up racing is, is a competition of how deep your pockets are. Not sure what about bracket racing pissed in your cheerios, but your disdain towards it doesn't make much sense.

    • @rogerbeutler5671
      @rogerbeutler5671 Před 7 lety +4

      I guess it depends on how you look at it. Bracket racing is fine if that's what you're into. However, for Stock, Super Stock, & other classes in sanctioning organizations like the PSCA, ADRA, etc., the outcome of a race shouldn't be determined by the fact that you ran a thousand of a second quicker than the dial in.

    • @ChaseMeTV
      @ChaseMeTV Před 7 lety +4

      So it should rather be determined by a car running a thousandth of a second quicker than the other car? Or even further, whose car is faster which can be determined before running the race? If you prefer seeing who has deeper pockets, go for it. However, I'd prefer actual fair competition.

      I don't get heads-up racing even if I apply the fairness-to-pockets argument. It just seems to a be a timing thing. R/T and timing at the finish line. Nothing at all todo with a car, might as well be two guys clicking a stop watch twice. I personally don't watch racing to see what human wins, I want to see how bad an engine combo can be or what the best ET in some class can be, and the more open the class, the better. I want to see deep pocket guys go all the way. Currently my favourite class is PDRA Pro Mod where they hit mid-5s in doorslammers nearly without rules.

      Had to read this several times to understand what you were even saying. You referred to bracket racing as heads-up racing. Which is actually what you were saying you liked. Bracket racing isn't heads-up racing lol.
      Bracket racing isn't a good spectator sport. However, when it comes to competition bracket racing is where it is at. If you like knowing what setup is best, that factors HUGELY into bracket racing as well. Not sure what your personal experience is with bracket racing, but it seems to be far from an accurate depiction. I understand the enjoyment of heads-up classes, specifically for spectators, but they aren't affordable and most races can be determined without even racing. However in bracket racing, anyone in any car can beat anyone in any car at any time. Also the way you described bracket racing made it sound significantly simpler that it actually is but I'm guessing that is due to a lack of experience haha.
