Watching from the future. LOL Sadly Autel still unable to match DJI's drone capabilities.
Looking back, glad I waited for Mavic 2 Pro.
The fact that you were still getting a high frame-rate live video feed from 3.5 miles way just blows my mind. I've only ever owned two drones. One is one of those palm-sized micro toys with brushed motors, and the other is a cheap Walmart drone with a 720p camera on it also with brushed motors. I would dream of having something like this someday.

That was amazing. I love the display and all the information you get in the software. Not to mention the options you get during flight. That was really good. Thanks Dustin. I didn't see the first video, but this drone is fire.
Wow. This thing keeps getting more impressive! Autel will be a serious contender for future purchases if they keep this up.
Dustin, I received my Autel EVO Rugged Bundle the other day, and was inspired by your range test! Naturally, I had to do my own range test, and got 3.2 miles out! It wasn’t quite as long as your flight, but I had to fly over some transmission lines, and lost video and RC connection. It did an automatic RTH, and landed within millimeters!!
What was your battery percentage on landing? 👍
Hi Dustin, when my EVO landed, it had 7% battery remaining. Not as close as yours, but close enough for me (lol)!
EVO cam is better than Mavic Pro 1. The pro is also mostly plastic just like the EVO 🤔
@@donaldmartin4620 at least be halfway convincing that you've actually touched either an Evo or a Mavic P2.
I get it, your DJIs Chinese promo team and havent learned to use Google Tlansrate yet, maybe just fly a drone, any drone, for fun, then you can seem believable at least.

I have a DJI Mavic Pro Platinum and I like it very much.
However I have been interested in the Autel EVO as well. Your range test was very impressive and you had me on the edge of my chair to see if you were going to make it all the way back to your home base. The 3.5 miles out was quite impressive and even though it looked like the EVO would not make it you took over and got it back to the home launch pad safely.

Good distance test Dustin, I have never flown my Mavic that far and I want ever need to fly this one that far either but it is good to see that it has nice range.

Great range test Dustin. I was really impressed with the range and signal strength. The RTH was a little short, so you might have to factor that in on long distance flights and low battery situations.

Dustin's range test is still the Gold Standard...And these test videos make those of us buying USED Drones well informed. As long as they remain reliable, drones of this caliber will be useful, and increasingly they are the only affordable choice. .

Is there a place in Cent. Fla that you fly? I live in Orlando and Barber park and Turkey lake park are the only "official" places I've found that allow people to fly.
nitnoid24 I live in Rockledge so the beach is always an option. I have visited a few of the airboat establishments along the St Johns River. I primarily fly at a local park near my house.
Wow! Pretty brave, brah! I went 2 miles (total) from the beach out into the ocean and back with my Evo and I was having heart attacks. My wife was standing there and said to me you're not buying another drone if you lose this one. But I still have my mavic pro. LOL! Anyway, mahalo for the video. I feel bettah now that I bought this drone.

Awesome great flight I haven’t been able to get my EVO will be getting it in a couple weeks I also noticed as soon as the EVO went into return to home the signal bars jumped up to 4 bars immediately that’s pretty cool and damn good range I personally think 🤔 this is a very nice aircraft for sure adding this one to my collection Thanks again Dustin

Michael Nichols - Signal jumped because the aircraft climbed 60ft... must be a min altitude it flies at when rth is activated.

I just lost my Mavic Pro after 8 months of hard flying. I was holding off on replacing until the 2 comes out. Ive completely been turned around on that decision. Autel Evo is my next drone. Impressive test showing us the capability. Thanks so much for posting this video. Happy flying!
Yes, I was feeling the same way. Autel Robotics are Innovators, Everything from Modems/Routers etc right through to now it seems very high end Drones priced quite well given the 4k@60fps is just insane. I'm pretty sure This will be my next Purchase. Cheers from Western Australia!
I will receive my evo in a few days. I have the spark, mavic pro and an xk x350. Looking forward to flying this one as well. I have been out 3 miles with my mavic without any issues.

Great video. You really did push it to its limits. I have to admit that is great distance, I didn't expect that. But I do have to point out that as you flew over wide open land with no one or nothing in sight for miles, you mentioned a few times that it was not a rural setting, lol. If the flight times were anywhere near what they advertise I would definitely purchase an Evo.

The drama of waiting for the return to home to activate peerfect As always great great chatty description. (best if when you read this one use race driver Jackie Stewart voice accent) The rubber gimbal mount is a bit rubbery bouncy yet the video verry stable....LOL

Pretty amazing drone. I even like the color. That was pretty close as far as any left over battery, but by golly, you made it. Probably a good thing you forced it on the end part. Also the fact it shoots in 60fps, 4K, I'd say, it's about time DJI had some real competition. I'd like to see how it holds up over a few months or so, but this thing might just be the cat's meow. Been testing the Evo against the Mavic Air in signal/Range in here in city of Beaumont Texas. So far it isn’t even a contest ... The Evo wins hands down . I’m not sure what kind of Wifi the Evo is using, but it’s rock solid. I’ve gone out just over 2 miles with the Evo without any issues . My Air can barely make it a quarter mile without giving my WiFi problems .

Only 36ft above launch point and 3.5 miles out I can't think of any place that I could do that with my drone other than off a mountain... Wow does that thing hold a connection.
