    Nice videos both have good info. Read through the manual for the app, you can set waypoints by touching google map or by drawing a path on the map by going to settings and Expert Mode. It also lets you set some defined settings for the waypoint flight. In Orbit it looked like it was smother after you paused and restarted but didn't stay on Orbit long enough to be sure. Thanks

    App and FW updates have fixed the camera in orbit mode, and you can do offline waypoints. Still would like to see POI within waypoints.
    Best drone with amazing waypoint function is the ANAFI. They did a good job on that app. Autel says it is giving it's SDK to third parties (I assume Litchi) for developments. I'd still prefer Autel do their own. You need more videos to show off the 4K 60FPS. Then people can really see how good this camera is. The OA is what is it, and for some that is important. To me, when I buy a camera drone, OA is not as big a deal, in fact I disable them on most drones to conserve battery for flights. Even MA, M2P and others with OA on have crashed, so there's that too.

      @urbanx3922 Před 5 lety

      Yeah the zoom and the wheel, I wish could be mated together, more permanently. I really think it could be more fun, without the couple of little quirks. I do have calls in to Autel about my concerns. They have also heard from others and the engineers are working on things like programming the bottom buttons. Not disappointed, side note, I own the M2Z and love. Used to have the the Mavic Air, and this is way batter in my opinion.

    Another great review of functions. Wish it didn't get prop in camera shot, a little annoying you have to change your angel to "fix it". Hope you remember landing pad next time to see if that helps it find its home point better. Believe Mavic still did better RTH but no one is perfect - for the price you want it to be though :). • @RonaldBrown59
    @RonaldBrown59 Před 6 lety +1

    They Waypoints work similar to DJI, where you have to fly the wait point mission first and record it. Maybe they will make Litchi for the EVO, where you can use Google maps to set your waypoint missions. At least they include the VR function in the app, which DJI doesn’t. Good review Dustin.

    • @DustinDunnill

    • @mattball7341
      @mattball7341 Před 5 lety

      @@lindisopaj Autel said they are releasing to third party app creators. I assume Litchi, though I prefer they redo their own. If they make the waypoint feature as good as ANAFI, that would bring a lot of pro fliers their way. ANAFI has a really nice waypoint design.

  • @didactylos4diddy474
    @didactylos4diddy474 Před 6 lety +1

    I'm pretty sure they can smooth out the orbit and they should if they want to compete
    The waypoint system I suspect was set up to satisfy someone who wants to film 'cinematic' videos rather than set waypoints for exploration/survey type flights. If I have to spend time flying the route to set up waypoints I'd rather fly and film the track manually. (It may suit others though).
    I'm less keen on this quad as a result.
    That's a pity because the camera is really good.
    The zoom will definitely start the "privacy" campaigners frothing at the mouth but that is, in itself, not a bad thing :D

      I did a recent follow up review "after 6 months" but didn't see the option.

      @@DustinDunnill multi monitor is something i'd like, if live deck is out or we know details by march, evo might be my top end for a new drone, i know live deck outputs 1080p hdmi, but if it can output 720p hdmi, then i can run fpv on a vuefine, with maps on phone and avionics on controler.

    Wow. Pretty impressive quad. Now if they could fix the few issues Dustin has pointed out (namely the rear sensors in non-beginner mode) I will heavily lean toward them when the time comes to replace my Mavic air. It's about time someone gives DJI come competition. I thought maybe Hubsan was for awhile but I haven't heard anything out of them for awhile now.

    They do have extra batteries available despite the website still saying they're "coming soon", click on that image and you'll find it; however, they recently sold out.

    Hi Dustin, is there a height limitation for flying the Eco? Does it block from flying above 400' AGL?

    Dustin, I got the EVO last week. On Friday I picked up an XSP for a really good price. After using the EVO APP and then the XSP APP it really seems as though they might have tried to reinvent the wheel in some regards. Why couldnt they simply use the XSP app and all of its features plus the new ones for the EVO? Like the waypoints etc. And as always an awesome review. Been waiting for yours. Thanks again.

  • @DannyFyffe
    @DannyFyffe Před 6 lety +7

    You can use the app and setup waypoints offline. You missed that part.

    If you do a range test point your antenae down instead of up.i easily got out to 3.5 miles with antenae pointed down.pointed up I got weak signal warnings.i could of easily flown further but was worried about battery getting back.good luck keep up the great work

    • @jeffmccoy2873

      35mph turn off obstacle avoidance which in doing so is like sport mode on dji

    • @DustinDunnill
      @DustinDunnill  Před 6 lety

      I may play it safe at 22mph setting with sensors off. If I remember correctly RTH is that speed also.
