10 years ago.. I was 8. I used to beg my mom to take me to my cousins just so I could play gears of war 1. On the release date of gears of war 2 I sat in my room all bummed out.. but my mom got me an early birthday present Xbox 360. Gears of war 3 I worked my ass off for the gears 3 Xbox (my Xbox broke two months prior) got it at the midnight launch. And then judgement I got at the midnight launch (also won the Gamestop held tournament and got the season pass free). And now gears of war 4 I can purchase for myself with my own money and pick it up.
It's just an amazing feeling and I hope many gamers get to this feeling with any game.
Also I'm curious. For horde mode can you select what gear you want to play as? Or are you assigned. Because in judgement they did that, but in three you had the choice

I gave up halfway through the video, not because of the reveiw or the reviewers, but because whoever is playing has absolutely no idea how to active reload.
What a messy review, there's no structure, it's just two guys chatting about gear of war 4.

I bought a Xbox360 just for gears of war, and yes I was willing to drop money for the console just to play the game at the time. With less time on my hands and better things to spend my money on, I feel like this game is worth getting a XboxOne for.

I am thinking of getting an Xbox One S as well. PS is really testing my patience. I can forgive Xbox for introducing payed multiplayer to the scene.
Callous Kunth I guess, I didn't have XBox in those times, Xbox S is super, especially with my 4K tv, Forza Horizon 3 looks awesome and on my old HD tv looks great too! I'm getting the GOW4 aftertomorrow, 4K player in the XBox one S is the best out there for that price! Don't get me wrong PlayStation has very good games, but not in this generation except Uncharted 4, I guess Blood Born and ect. But most of it it's remasters! I guess it looks like there are very good games coming out till 2018, that's why I will pick up the PlayStation 4 Pro soon, my last PlayStation was the PlayStation 2, so I will have a lot of new stuff to play with all the remasters. They both are good, that's why I want both! Quantum Break was awesome on the XBox, doesn't matter what critics say, was something very different, all I wanna say XBox One S is a god damm good counsel for that cheep price, I got the Halo edition with all five Halo games even I'm not to much in to multiplayer shooters, but it's a really good console man!
dukuls79 I agree with most of the things with what you said, except about Quantum Break. That game was short and was a downright disappointment. The story was so bland, and it felt like a poor attempt to copy Infamous: Second Son. And Windows Store is a pain in the ass to navigate, and downloads regularly fail. My QB download went smoothly however.
This is the first Gears game where I don't want to play as the humans in multiplayer. I want to play as the DeeBee's. They look smooth and the shit

just got it n I'm install in now. can't wait to play. I think they promoted gow master collection way more. played 1 & 2 fully then got 3. wasn't able to finish cuz my xbox got stollen so I'm not up to date wit story. I saw master collection n was kinda mad it wasn't a new game, just all old games. til I saw this n had to get it.
Does anyone know if it has offline bots like the previous entries? Every once and a while my internet gets disconnected so i play multiplayer offline with bots on insane difficulty and its just as fun as normal online play.

Just beat the campaign, it's a total midfuck and it's so good. The online is the best online seen in a Gears thus far, and horde is equally fun as gears 3, but more intense. So badass seeing this come out of a brand new team.

I always wanted Gears 2 and 3 on pc as I don't have any consoles. But seeing as this and the first one (or ultimate) are the best in the series and also the ones that have pc releases I don't really mind. Although it would be lovely to have gears 2 on pc

Yes it is worth it! The latest one that came out is really good, definitely worth buying. Also if you buy is now you will also get gears of war 1,2,3, and Judgement for free with your purchase. Theres a lot of BANG for your buck.

Gears of War was the first game I played on my Xbox 360 and I've played every gears game after that and Iove this series so much but now I can't play 4 because I decided to get a Playstation
So happy with the game. Loved all the previous gears of war games. But I wasn't expecting much from gears 4, has really surprised me so far. Graphics are too good to handle

Really loving this game. The graphics are stunning in 4K and HDR. I am a Playstation 4 Pro owner but very recently an Xbox One X owner too. I love the machine! Hoping the X will be a succes because good competition is healthy!
I get the robots are badguys, but they are COG yeah? Shouldn't they be on the good team?

SPOILER ALERT!
The Robots/COG are replacements for the remaining human COG to serve and protect from future threats so that the humans can focus on repopulate and rebuilt because of the massive human losses during resent wars but because of mysterious human disappearenses the remaining COG/desserters are accused of the disappearenses and forced to fight back against the new COG and find out whats causing this disappearenses so that they can prove their inosence and stop the real threat :)
The new characters are the proof they didnt really get what makes gears so popular. The original super macho sweaty tattooed scarred testosterone bombs who had great chemistry and some depth worked very well .But these overly generic PC chracters are just boring. Now instead of the clint eastwood like badboy marcus we have a calvin klein model instead of the beast cole we have just a token black guy and instead of dom we have hipster beenie girl it just sucks.And basically they made two minor upgrades gears 3 ten thousend miles better.

I recognized a few scenes as well. The buzzsaw scene where the projectiles are being curved towards the locust is the standout scene that I recognize.

Considering one of those is a remake and the other was delayed into this year is sad. Keep pretending gears is average. I liked the game but it was a little repetitive and didn't have as good as a storyline as the older ones.

The STORY SUCKS! Gears of war day 1 was about humanity in gears of war 4 we're not concerned about humanity we are concerned about a girl and whether or not she will get too see her parent again!
It's a big thing to lose family damn I'm sure DOM and Marcus know, but the main driver for visible motivation is seeing her mother again. In my opinion not that strong, yet maybe that is because I'm a writer who figured out character circles and where each belongs.
The SWARM seemed to just be there and not pose a great presence as they should have much like the LOCUST did.
Finally I was very upset with the mechs..... for nearly 2 hours I was fighting mechs! 2 HOURS! Think about that, at the beginning of the game I'm fighting mechs.....for 2 hours!
If I wanted to fight mechs I would have popped in P.N.03, Transformers War for Cybertron, Fall of Cybertron, a GUNDAM game, Zone of the Enders1/2, Armored Core, Mass Effect 2/3, Halo 5 just to name a few.
I am tired of fighting mechs! I hope I've made my point! Also I liked kicking around the lifeless bodies of the locust or when they'd glitch and drag along.

I do try new things and for one I did a heck of a lot of research and figured out that there was not 7 deadly sins, but 16. It's an ass story and you need to get to grips with it much like I did with star wars force awakens, metroid other M (Metroid being my favourite series), and other shitty products or production. They're aiming for a mindless casual mainstream audience that will eat that shit up constantly as long it warrants the sales ergo you have shit like The Division, Halo and Gears of War in the market. Most JRPG's of today are shit, I agree. You don't have to remind me of diarrhea farts like Atelier Ayesha or modern Phantasy Star games. But Shin Megami Tensei series is a completely different beast. And I have high respect for WRPG's since table top pen and paper RPG's like D&D and CRPG's like Ultima actually inspired Japanese developers to make Dragon Quest. But you can't tell me with a straight face that Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition and Mass Effect 3 are good games since on their own they are piss-poor. And Persona 5 is more than just a standard JRPG since you fail on doing a simple research. And I'm not comparing JRPG's and WRPG's, I'm saying that Persona 5 is doing something differently compared to the casual market filled with mediocrity like linear set piece driven grim-dark shooters with only color variations being black, grey and brown. Mediocrity like COD, The Division and the rest of fratfuckery have an ageing formula that will not stand the test of time. I'm not like the majority of the mainstream audience who blindly follows a meaningless hype with a formulaic design.
Sorry, happy this is the best Gears of Wars has been in terms of polish, but it's the same exact game over and over. I don't buy every Madden, I got sick of Assassin's Creed, even Halo and COD are so boring now....shame, but this will be the first Gear of War game I don't buy because I just don't want to play that type of game...maybe ten years from now I might get an itch to relive it, but right now, I'm sick of cover shooters, no matter how polished. I was kinda hoping they would have made it more brutal like "The Last of Us" where you can't afford to screw up, but it's too.......casual and boring. 5/10 from me.

Honestly I thought ps4 won the era. but over time they went down. They have no real good games to offer besides uncharted 4 and the last of us. And this game looks great, a seasoned fan doesn't mean the review will be positive. look at judgement. All the gears vets hated it
Playstation won this gen already. I haven't played a great game on Xbox since the original 2 gears. Playstation always tries new ideas that's why I slowly shifted over. The new VR headset is getting amazing reviews and with some great new exclusives coming next year, also more and more third party titles getting pro support. No brainer for me.

I'm a gears of war fan up too Gears 3. We need to fucking boycott this garbage!! Same old shit. I Just just bought an xbox for this game. I go to play it and now I get the same old bullshit problems I use to get trying to play online games back on the 360 but only ITS FUCKING WORSE!! It's the same problem for single player campaign!!! WTF!!! We really need to star boycotting this who fking industry. The fucking repetitive games like assassins creed, the DLC scams, the meaningless 100 hour games. Mafia 3 got a 7.5 (which was more then they deserved in my opinion) and if should of easily been a 9.5 if it was fkin done right. It's as if they don't want to put out their best because they know suckers are ganna buy what ever CRAP they hype. I'm going to sell all my video games and learn an instrument and how to play poker profitably.
