boomerhgt I’ve been thinking of getting gears 5 because of emile and well I’ve watched a lot of gameplay should I get it? Or should I wait until it’s on sale?
One of my favorite series of all time; the fact that I could play through the entire series leading up to this release and still not feel burned out speaks droves to the addictive nature of its story, world and gunplay.
Best game of the year so far. Visuals are the best on console and PC. And the changes to gameplay are fantastic. By far the best gears game. And one of the best MS exclusives ever made period. What a game. On Act 3 currently.
Guys spread the word we as xbox fans dont hype our games up much thats the problem. Let's do everything we can to get this game of the year for gears 5. Spread the word let's get them votes when the voting comes. Let's make it happen it's about time an xbox exclusive got its recognition.

I don't understand why they feel the need to change the main character again for the third time. Another example of big companies bowing down to the alphabet people.
They definitely need to fix their campaign issues. I completed the game on insane and my campaign says it on each chapter yet my achievement says it's on 86%. This seems to be a big issue
Is this a review or overview? The reviewer spends more time telling you about details of the story and gameplay than deep diving into the technical aspects that combine together to make a game. Talk about graphics, animation, sound etc, not story details etc. Save those things for the gamer to discover.
Judgment had top tier visuals for its time and it had good action in it. It was a very focused campaign that was just about providing interesting, varied, and frenetic combat encounters. Don’t get all the Judgment hate. It’s a good game. Better campaign than 4. 4’s campaign was a straight dumpster fire.
So was this one all the characters felt the same and killing off one of them was easy Del the most annoying and useless cant shot can’t take cover gets snatched all the time
5 or 10 stars - the trouble with ratings is that people stop listening to what is actually good and bad about the game and just want to boil it down to a simple number.
So 4 out of 5 stars = 8 out of 10. If that’s correct then this game is easily worth a 9+ EASILY! meaning it should score atleast 4 and a half stars! Games that are no where near as good as gears 5 have scored better!
indeed and 5 star doesn't allow for in-betweens. From what I've enjoyed so far this isn't an 8/10 but an easy 9+. Anyway it doesn't matter of course because fans decide just how good it is

I dont like that the classes are tied to characters they should be separate or make it were you can have duplicate classes. Since I dont want to use any other weapon other than the classic load out of lancer, gnasher, snub.
Question for anybody out there that got the Ultimate Edition from Best Buy where in the world is the Lancer skin code doesn't appear to be on any receipt or within the games case any ideas guys?
@Walter the Wobot, I agree with May Hardy, Coalition have worked so hard on this to keep things fresh and to keep the fans happy who don’t like complete change! (Genius) They have also pulled out all the stops to make it look as gorgeous as they can with 4K and locked at 60fps! (Again Genius) while still making it look amazing on the standard Xbox one at a locked 30fps! Those guys deserve every bit of praise! And it sounds to me like you are just unwilling to give it a chance.

I bought a playstation 3 after gears 2 as I went through 3 360s in two years and Microsoft was kind enough to say no we aren't going to repair the ring of death anymore and that it was my fault in some way for buying it.So after two I never had the chance to play one again,I however really really do miss them .

You were very unlucky there, my first white (second wave) of 360’s lasted 5/6 years bought the same looking black version then the slick shiny one and they are still working to this day
i got the RROD and sent it in. It came back a month later still broken. Returned it again, very upset, pissed and eventually a month later got a new one.
After the horrible games they have come out with this generation, it doesn't take much to improve. They should have been working on another Fable game instead of Gears or Crackdown 3. They could have had another Zelda hit on their hands with that game!
You do know there is more than one studio right. Gears has nothig to do with Fable or crackdowns success. And no, I'd take a new Gears over Fable anyday.

Its clear with the ending, just like everything friggin else (movies etc) that they are replacing male characters with females because of all this female empowerment bs. Even the character of kait seems like a forced unnecessary emo feminist. I wouldve preferred anya or some other cool looking chic. Why not just make an original third person shooter with female leads? Why hijack well established franchises? Especially ones like gears that was always about buffed up super soldiers? Ill keep playing gow 1 to 3 i suppose.
They could have put any other character as the main and I might be interested in this. Probably just going to get it on game pass for $2, beat it, and never go back.

So this is a 12 hour campaign with 4 1/2 hours being cutscenes according to MKIceAndFire video. So basically 33 percent of the game is cutscenes but you don't hear any complaining from xbots at all but heaven forbid a sony exclusive being cutscene heavy then all hell breaks loose. Xbots acting like this game is the second coming of christ when over at Sony it's SOP......Standard Operating Procedure rolling out great AAA exclusives every 6 months.

Gears hasn't been innovative since Gears 3. Microsoft and their studios spend so much time playing catch up to be like everyone else, it's a wonder to so many why Microsofts first-party titles struggle to find review success forever keeping Microsoft consoles in dead last, the Switch gaining on Xbox in sales, despite having "the most power gaming console to date" which is easy to claim after the competition have been on the market for several years. That's pretty much it. Microsoft are too busy trying to keep with the trends to be like Naughty Dog instead of going their own way to set trends, including going with the same old same old voice talent, Laura Bailey is used by everyone like a prostitute. Naughty Dog goes after Ashley and Graham uh, see innovative but Microsoft wants to be like everyone else, same is same and isn't as interesting or exciting. Microsoft are even launching on a Friday, like Sony with a first-party game, they just can't think for themselves. Microsoft in EVERY division of the corporation have been like this. It's their business strategy since day one as all their staff were much too busy at frat parties during college rather than studying and learning how to innovate, plain and simple. They're suits, not artists and will remain third best until they learn to sit down and think creatively. Sadly, in the hardware department anyway, Sony have divorced themselves of Kutaragi and his mentality opting to go for off the shelf components that will forever have their hardware on par with others, a sad shame, rather than being industry leaders, that's right, even ahead of the PC whose modern hardware borrows from the PS3 way of doing things.

It does run at 60fps on Xbox One X at 4K. On base Xbox One Im not sure if its running 30fps or 60fps at 1080p
Base Xbox 30fs with no drops but pushes graphics that some are shocked by.

Naughty Dog goes after Ashley and Graham uh, see innovative but Microsoft wants to be like everyone else, same is same and isn't as interesting or exciting. Microsoft are even launching on a Friday, like Sony with a first-party game, they just can't think for themselves. Microsoft in EVERY division of the corporation have been like this. It's their business strategy since day one as all their staff were much too busy at frat parties during college rather than studying and learning how to innovate, plain and simple. They're suits, not artists and will remain third best until they learn to sit down and think creatively. Sadly, in the hardware department anyway, Sony have divorced themselves of Kutaragi and his mentality opting to go for off the shelf components that will forever have their hardware on par with others, a sad shame, rather than being industry leaders, that's right, even ahead of the PC whose modern hardware borrows from the PS3 way of doing things.

Sony games are the least innovative games in the industry. They piggy back everything.
And ESPECIALLY Naughty Dog. They are the very least innovative out of any of the Sony studios.
