I live in Northern Ireland. It is all part of the one island of Ireland. However, the British rule the 6 northern counties. Catholics who want Ireland to be all Ireland dislike the British rule. The protestants who live here are loyal to Britain and see Northern Ireland as part of the UK. Because of this, Irish Catholics in Northern Ireland sometimes fly Palestinian flags. Protestants here in Northern Ireland sometimes retaliate by flying Israeli flags. Its ridiculous, but thats the world we live in - and this country is in a similar political deadlock.

@@DaReelSlimN80 Yep. It is referred to the "Flag Wars" here. Probably the least violent of our war, so it's not such a big deal - however there is a lot of solidarity and support amongst Ireland and the Irish people for Palestine. Equally, there is little love here for the Israeli government, particularly the military, specifically the IDF who spearhead the Palestinian genocide. People seem confused when we also say we love Jewish people. You are not an anti-semite just because you don't agree with a government or a military and their actions - it is not a reflection of all Jewish people, this is a political not cultural debate. :)

@@skeletalwreck The Irish *burn* Israeli flags. You forgot that part. It's not political when you target religious ethnic minorities. Linking Jews worldwide to the modern-state of Israel is Antisemitic AF. Rethink your values when you target the only nation in the Middle East that has equal rights for LGBTQ+, women, grants asylum to all of the ethnic minorities persecuted by Arabs (Druze, Kurds, Yazidis, etc), and has a somewhat functional democracy... Albeit a corrupted one... Just like every other country. It's crazy to pretend one country in the world is homogeneous politically and ideologically. There are dramatically different political parties, beliefs, and yes, even Arabs in the Knesset. It already exists, and to get rid of it results in genocide. Burning the flag is precisely WHY there will never be a 2-State solution again. You fuel so much hatred used by HAMAS, which they put into their "liberate Palestine from land to sea" propaganda. How can borders open when this fuels Hezbollah & HAMAS's terrorism? The stronger you make these groups, the more opressed Arab-Palestinian speech. They're not allowed to tell ANY Western media that they want 2-State. There are people on the ground covering this in real time, and no, they don't report for VICE, or DW, or Vox or MSNBC, ABC, CBC, BBC, or any other corporate or state media org, leaning "left" or right.
And to level those accusations is Holocaust denial. These aren't mere "flag wars" - they lead to direct violence & hate crimes. You deny Ireland's Jewish population outright, and they no longer feel safe there because they're NOT safe there OR in the UK (who created this mess in the middle east to begin with) - and when every nation closes it's borders to specifically Jewish emigrants yet again, where are they to to? This helps fuel the cycle of Antisemitism under the guise of "Anti-Zionism." Most Israelis aren't even Zionists, and the state of Israel was founded on deporting the European Holocaust survivors out of Europe where no country allowed their return out of "fear" they'd want their homes or property back.
The British Empire incited WWI with the primary goal of taking down the Ottoman Empire so they could take over their colonies. That's precisely what they did by offering the Arabs land in the British Mandate of Palestine if they fought as proxies for them against the Ottomans. Palestine was the name given to the entire region which encompasses modern day Jordan, Lebanon, part of Syria, the Sinai portion of Egypt, part of northern Iraq, and modern-day Israel by the Ottoman Turks when they colonized it after the Byzantine Empire of colonizers fell... From colonizer to colonizer... Until post-WWII Mandatory Palestine (modern-day Israel + Gaza & West Bank) was liberated by Anti-Fascist Jewish partisans because the British were sinking ships of Holocaust survivors trying to flee the Internment Camps in British Occupied Germany (imprisoned thru 1950 by British) to Palestine - the only option given EVERY country in the world closed its borders to Jews since the 30s, including the US under the Immigration Act of 1924. The 2 British Generals were taken out and they retreated. The same British military that put Arabs in internment camps during WWII. Israel is only the 2nd former-British colony to become fully sovereign of the British Empire, after the United States. You'd think the Irish would respect that, but they play into the hands of the British far too well. No one wants to take down Israel more than the British. They hold grudges for eternity and never ever let anything go. They're the real Empire, and the US provides the soldiers for this mess called NATO.
Don't believe me. Look-up "British Israelism" - Christian Identitarian movement started by the most influential in British society, to invent a "13th tribe of Israel" - aka them... These British Protestants/Evangelicals, and brand themselves "the real chosen people." Hence the Peale Commission, Balfour Declaration, and the horrible horrible Holocaust Reparations arrangement they made with Germany in order to approve the UN partition plan of 1947 making Israel a state... But only after ALL of the land was purchased from both the British, and then Arabs who couldn't tolerate living amongst Jewish emigrants and chose the new Arab state of Jordan instead. Holocaust reparations were given directly to the Government of Israel to finance it's infrastructure. The Holocaust survivors meanwhile never got a cent. Not even healthcare. Most of the Jewish European orphans lived homeless in Israel. Meanwhile, the state was under contract to use 30% of reparations to buy British Oil & 70% to German Steel corporations. This is called REPARATIONS PROFITEERING.
And look into the Evangelical "End of Times Prophecy" - all Zionists are CHRISTIANS. Christian-Zionists are behind boosting the most radical factions on both sides to bring about their "Holy War" which will bring on "Armageddon" and the "second coming." Allegedly. Their ideology requires all Jews on Earth go to Israel before this can happen. So they use people like you to make the rest of the world intolerant to Jews, forcing them to Israel, to bring about their Jesus.
If you want to know the history since 1948 as to how things got so bad between the Arab Nationalists & the Israelis, per first-hand accounts only on all sides, see: "The 50 Years War" 2-part PBS documentary that's on CZcams. Made in the early 2000s, but shows how Israel became ground zero in the many proxy wars of the ridiculous Cold War. Ever since, Israel has been used as a Western military foothold in the Middle East thanks to Netanyahu, a vicious Antisemite himself. He stopped the peace-deal along with the Muslim Brotherhood in the 90s after the Oslo Accords. Thanks to that psycho, all Jewish Israelis are forced to join the IDF at 18 for 4 years with no way out. The over 30% of Israelis that aren't Jewish, have the privilege of not being drafted just to fight and die in the crossfire of stupid wars between NATO and the Oil Sheiks.
See the recent documentary on called the Olso Diaries to see that hope and tragedy. President Sadat of Egypt and PM of Israel both killed to stop the peace deal. Egyptians also have a more restrictive border with Gaza and resent the so-called "Leaders" of Gaza for taking out the most popular Egyptian President in history. Everyone in Europe has no idea how people on the ground actually feel. The Palestinian Authority, the internationally recognized government of the West Bank which is it's own state under the Oslo Accords, but is currently at risk of being taken over by HAMAS. HAMAS steals all Palestinian aid, and marches with the same salute the Germans did. Funny how little people pay attention to actual footage inside Gaza. If you actually cared about Palestinians, who are also Jewish, Christian, and Atheists - while Egyptians (Arafat was literally EGYPTIAN), Jordanians, Syrians, and even some Mujadeen & Iranians pretend to be Palestinians for their own propaganda purposes - you'd worry more about what HAMAS is doing to the Palestinian Government in the West Bank. If they win, they will cease to have a government or any rights whatsoever.

They choose to ignore that people lived there and were forced out just for jews to take their place and basically fuck the inhabitants' fate and their families in perptuety . That's why it IS and always be an occupation. Since you're not the one who lost your ancestral home of course it's easy for you to forget or more like disregard.
Peace solutions were lost when a generation was born in Israel. Now we're here and whatever happens from here on out will be paid by Palestenian in their freedom and their pride.
And the most dangerous thing about Israel is that its people see themselves as the chosen ones and that ideology will always be the source of discrimination towards arabs, not to mention how many international laws they break but hey at least we know the U.S will veto whatever touches Israel.

I am also in a good position to actually do something about those crimes since Israel is completely dependent on the United States. The American people can make Israel behave relatively easily. I like that Israel is criticized, every country should be criticized. Israelis criticize their country too, all the time. But when you see lies being told about your country, and when you see people portraying an image about your country, saying all kinds of wrong things, and then you get out of your house and you see a COMPLETELY different reality, with Arabs and Jews living together, working in jobs together, serving each other, having mixed relationships, not only that this "criticism" won't work, it's also actually insulting. There's a difference between criticism and lies. Israel is working hard for equality and tolerance. Harder than any other country because when arabic and jewish Israelis go on the media and see people like you trying to separate us and trying to pour oil into the fire, and when they see that their country constantly suffers unprovoked attacks fro terrorist groups and even sometimes does not retaliate. And when they see people trying to spread lies about their country then yes, there's gonna be hatred. And as I said the country is working hard to kill that hatred with projects such as bringing Arab students to Jewish schools to study English together for example.

    • @Living_Dead_Girrl
      @Living_Dead_Girrl Před 2 lety +1

@@magicalplace3788 Amen. Unfortunately those of us outside Israel will never ever see reality portrayed in the media, regardless of whether it's Western or Eastern Media, corporate or state, so-called "liberal" leaning or right-wing - everyone's interests are in fueling war, targeting only the Jewish Israelis (everyone's oblivious to the existence of non-Jewish Israelis), having zero knowledge that the IDF is full of 18 yr olds conscripted into military service instead of going to college like most in most democracies, & the fact that only Jewish Israelis, besides Heredi, are forced to serve (and us diasporic Jews in the West are in the dark, otherwise most wouldn't make Aliya just to find out their children will be forced to join someday), etc. I'm a Jewish-American and it took A LOT for me to find resources to paint an accurate portrait of the conflict and Israeli life.
And further, to learn about the Christian-Zionists and "British Israelism" (the Christian Identity movement that drove the British Empire to take down the Ottomans in WWI so they could create the British Mandate of Palestine - aka the real Colonizers... And the fact that Palestine includes JORDAN) that claims the British Protestants and Evangelicals are "the real Chosen people" blah blah blah... Plus how Holocaust reparations were paid to the brand new Israeli government to build Israel's infrastructure, but with the promise to use 30% for British Oil & 70% for German steel contracts - allowing Holocaust reparations profiteering, etc.
The whole world's lost their minds, not that they ever had them. Antisemitism blinds those who want to be blinded, and if Jews weren't barred from returning home after the Holocaust, with all borders closed to them elsewhere, and even deported to Palestine from approx 1935-1939 by the Germans & British - there wouldn't have been a fight to create a Jewish state to begin with. When Jews are not allowed to exist anywhere else, the idea of a Jewish state that will never close it's borders to Jewish emigrants seemed like a solution. It was better than not having it. People don't know that Israel grants asylum to other persecuted ethnic minorities in the middle East like the Druze and LGBT Arabs. Most importantly, it's people living in nations founded upon real colonialism and imperialism, and actual removal of the indigenous population, that criticize the existence of the very young country of Israel above all else. Hypocrites. If Israel wasn't a Jewish state, people would be defending it just like all the other countries that ceased to exist, sometimes for centuries, and now have the entire world on their side when they're invaded yet again. i.e. Ukraine, Poland, Armenia, etc. ALL of those countries literally did not exist for over a century, and got their land back by force, but this time as Christian Theocracies. Nations that are reborn completely intolerant of their fellow Jews that lived there centuries longer than most of the people living there now, who wear their nationality as a cultural identity, that in their recounting of history were persecuted "just as bad as Jews were in the Holocaust." Everyone just needs to take a step back and be human beings, but history shows us that simply can't happen so long as nationalism exists anywhere.
And btw, I'm so tired of attempts by outsiders to create fighting and division amongst Jewish Israelis & the Jewish diaspora. I feel like I have no home. Nowhere to exist.
I live in a Christian nation that forces me to assimilate to Christian holidays and ways of life, that barely tolerates Jews anymore no matter how much we've contributed to the very foundation of modern American culture, society, art, science, language, etc - and as an Anarchist for most of my life, it kills me to see Antisemitism finding its way into leftist circles and thought now - ALWAYS using the "Palestinian conflict" as the singular pretense!!
It's the new McCarthyism this dual-loyalty trope. They demand Western Jews must denounce Israel as "occupied-Palestine" as a litmus test. It's so bigoted, no one even bothers coding their Antisemitism anymore. Non-Jews don't get interrogated about Israel. Forced to "pick a side." I side with reality. One that no one in the West cares to hear or believe. I really hope more Israelis speak up exactly like you did, because nobody GAF about what I have to say as an outsider. I just get Antisemitic responses, and it doesn't help that I try to pull back the history further to explain that the British were the colonizers, and before them the Ottomans, and before them the Byzantine Romans. The English translations of our prayers don't help either because they don't understand that millennia before we were called "Jews," we were simply "the people of the land of Israel." That's just the name of our people and our monotheistic God, identified by the land we lived on before WE were colonized and worse. They wrongly think we worship Israel lol. And I can't stand the Romanization of people calling us "Israelites" OMFG. That's a Greek-ism, and means something very different to Christians and hate groups.
If only people knew what it was like to live in a speck on planet Earth that could be wiped out at any time, and this threat is real and persists every day. It's taken advantage of by people like Netanyahu and the Lukkids. This danger increases because the US demands much in return for any military aid... For defense usually needed in direct correlation to the US War on Terror, and before that, the Cold War caused the proxy wars when the Arab nations worked with Soviets to invade Israel 3 TIMES.... Or that Iranian Nuclear deal that returned trillions in assets to Iran in exchange for returning 5 American civilians that were warned NOT to travel there, 3 of which were also dual-Iranian citizens, and 1 was a Christian missionary (lol of course they're going to arrest a missionary in Iran).
Whether or not anyone thinks Israel should exist - it ALREADY EXISTS. And to eradicate it = genocide. It's that simple. That's why this so-called "Anti-Zionism" is so blatantly Antisemitic. And BDS is specifically founded in the Boycott of Jewish businesses during and following the Anchluss. The only other time in history there was a multinational effort to boycott Jewish owned properties or businesses, was during the Holocaust.
      *This world drives me insane*

My friend is an American jew who made Aliya and he told me about last may when Gaza started firing rockets to Israel. His friends asked him "why does Israel always just fire Gaza?" and he was shocked. He's usually not really involved in politics but he was like "What do you mean?" he showed them videos THAT HE HIMSELF filmed and they were really surprised. They were sure Israel just bombs Gaza out of nowhere. It's sickening.
There is no "criticism" of Israel nowadays. Because when Israel is criticized by outsiders, it's always filled with lies. And it is because of those lies that Israel can't even prove itself and get better. How can Israel fix itself and make everyone like it back if it already doesn't do the things people say it does?
If people accuse an innocent person of being racist, there is no way for him to convince them that he's a better person now because he's already not racist.
