David makes it hard not to like him. Very down to earth and you can tell he genuinely cares for his fans
He’s changed a lot. In the early 00s he was NOT pleasant to be around or to his audience. Now it’s a complete 180
My strength and performance teacher who I had senior year of high school went to a Disturbed concert and actually shook his hand.
But in the early years he wasn't that nice to his fans. He got angry whenever he saw fans on their phones.
I don't know @prodigalbrock , I've worked around this guy for more than 20 years off and on. I can say he's been a solid dude throughout his career. With fans, and behind the scenes.
@@vw4517thats awesome man! are you a stage tech?
Most underrated band of all time. Seriously this man david draiman deserves all the recognition for the impact he has done for music genre.
Changed my life in highschool!
David is my idol, my hero, my inspiration as a human being in general. The music, the kind of person he is in general, and just the way he talks sometimes it feels like he's putting to words what i feel in my heart and cannot put into words myself.
Have you seen them live?
@@johnnyfamousI did. Mayhem ‘08
I actually met David a few times unbeknownst to me, when he was a nursing home administrator, where my grandmother was living. I never would have believed it if you told me what his true aspirations were headed toward. He’s a very intelligent, articulate, down to earth, and well-spoken man.
I just saw an interview where he talked about his time as nursing home administrator. I happen to live in Glenview, don't know if you are talking about the place in Niles he mentioned as it sounds like he worked at a couple places. Yes, that is hard to imagine! Genuinely good dude, outstanding at being interviewed as well.
Never heard of this guy until "Sound of Silence" and the more videos I see of him, the more I like him. He makes some very thoughtful and kind remarks to fans and takes time to actually connect. I'm becoming a fan much to the shock of my son.
Same!
Most of you hadn't until sos. But to really appreciate it helped to know them prior to that release. OMG!
Me too.....I was trying to find other version's of 'Sounds Of Silence', & discovered Disturbed. Have listened to some of his interviews & would love to attend a gig. Happy Earthday David for next week ♥️🔥♥️
I loved The Sound of Silence until I let my grandmother hear it, and she knew it word for word. I didn't know it was a remake. She and her singing group used to sing it all of the time. I immediately took to Twitter to tell them jokingly that they were no longer popular because my grandmother liked their music. 😂
The Sounds of Silence is the ONLY cover that in my mind is far better than the original, it sends tingles down my spine.
One of if not the best front men for a band. Love David Draiman, completely honest, humble and super talented. So wish I could meet him. Some of my other favorites are already gone, taken too early. One of those people you just want to shake their hand and tell them in person how much of a role they have in your life and how they made a better person for it.
Seen Disturbed for the 1st time in Orlando (2-26-2024)... I also was Blessed enough to do a Meet & Greet with them... The Best Show ever... I want to see them again so damn bad... Would live to talk to him more to finish our conversation we were having... Such a sweet man...❤😊
🙏💋🌹💯✌️
Man, he’s very humble, I like celebrities like these. he doesn’t let fame go to his head.
100% true, a real artist
Never heard of him, until Sound of Silence, fell in love. He is one of the most honest person I have ever heard.
How can you not adore this human ❤
Saw these guys for the first time last night, hell of a show. David is a huge advocate for mental health and fighting your demons, it was evident how many lives he’s touched.
So true!.
This man's been in my head recently, not for his music, but his personal message. He openly addresses a lot of very personal difficulties people are struggling with and takes time to give encouragement to them. He has also shared his personal struggles with mental health, and it just hit hard to listen to that. Music is probably one of the reasons I'm still on this planet. The message can be the medicine I need to get me through hours, days, and sometimes months. I think he's connected with his fans for this exact reason. The songs and the fans mean something to these guys. It's real and much appreciated.
100%! Even at my age today music is a major part of what keeps me going, it's helped get me through some incredibly dark moments since I was a kid. So I am so thankful for musicians like him! Like I posted in my own comment, he is an absolute GIFT!
Agree♥️
He's such a lovely man hit my ambition 2023 by seeing disturbed live at download in the UK who doesn't love David ❤️ xx
I. Love. This. Man.
Just discovered him and by way of his singing not being interviewed and within seconds he'd magnetically awoke me. I think he's a Star.
This man is a complete legend
Not liking David Draiman is a red flag. This man is so down to earth and real
They made this senior citizen feel life again. They made an old rocker come alive again.
Every time I see David interviewed, I gain more and more respect for him. I have never experienced an entertainer in any genre who is more real than this man. I also feel a real connection with David, as we share similar backgrounds. It was 10 years ago, and I had just entered the health care field as a personal support worker, when I discovered that the front man of my favorite band had been a director of long term care facilities in the Chicago area prior to making it big with Disturbed. If I were ever granted 3 wishes, one would certainly be to have a sit down, shoot the s**t session with David.
Thank you for making an older person feel live again
What a beautiful soul, I absolutely love Disturbed 🥰💜💜💜💜
This band saved my life. Especially David's personal words and experiences. Thankful and grateful. 💜🎶💜 And Sound of Silence was my spouses favorite song as a child, and he ended up loving your cover. It gave him comfort until the day he passed. Thank you.
Fck man what a great interviewer. The knowledge, the timing when to stop and allow him to express his ideas. Good job.
Thank you 🤘
Agree. Thats why I'm subscribing right now😊
Yeah when an actual Metal-Dietician interviews someone as opposed to some Normie
Eddie Trunk. He’s. Great.
How did I know he was a cantor? Such a beautiful voice and seems like such a mensch too. What a terrific interviewer to pull all these wonderful real person relatablilities onto the table and keep it cool. Kudos Rock Feed.
I saw Disturbed for the first when they opened for Slipknot and when they wheeled David out strapped to table and he had a Hannibal Lector mask on its something I'll never forget.
Slipknot is my favorite band and disturbed is a close 2nd, the 1st time I seen both bands was the same exact way.. When they rolled Dave out I went crazy 😂 It was at Mayhem fest Camden in 2008
Same here. 1st time seeing them was mayhem fest opening for Slipknot. Was awesome show that was!
@@alex86devapath I'm so happy I got to see them with Joey and paul..
@@PyramidHead-xs5gyI'm still wanting to go to see Slipknot live. I saw Disturbed back in 2016 at the Chicago Open Air Concert after a year of listening to them and they were amazing. I also was 13 about to be 14 on August 17th at the time. Now I'm 21, like holy shit time flies!
@@PyramidHead-xs5gyMy dude, check out the Howard Jones era of Killswitch Engage. 🤟
Such a cool dude. Great singer and a great band. Nice interview
What a fantastic human!
Thank you for delivering this interview. David has always been one front man you hear little from but when you do he has so much to say. Really respect it.
Dave's so humble when complimented, and gracious with his honesty, for me, that makes the music even more meaningful.
"Hold Onto Memories" always made me think of my favorite Aunt and others that I've lost. The song is perfect, touching, bittersweet.
My Mom died suddenly on September 30th, 2023. And i haven't been able to bring myself to listen to one of my all time favorite songs...
Thank-you David and the rest of Disturbed for sharing your talents and hard work with the world. Please know that you are cared for, even though we're strangers.
I can’t listen to this song without crying. Beautiful song❤
It is such a beautiful song. I’m so sorry about your mother and all the other loved ones you’ve lost. Know that you are cared for too and have been prayed for to receive strength and peace and God to carry you in Jesus’ name.❤️
@@imhungre789 Thank-you so much for your kindness. Please accept a virtual hug from an internet stranger 🤗
Disturbed was such an eye opener for me. I first heard them and I was like "this is me! They know who i am, they SEE me." I immediately ran out and bought every thing I could find!
I had the pleasure of meeting david at a concert. He is an amazing guy i got to talk to him for like 15 20 mins. He is a really is so down to earth and acts like hes just a normal non famous person. I hope to talk to him again someday
You’re so lucky!!! How did you get to do that?
David has been such an inspiration in my life for over 23 years now, I honestly don't know if I would still be alive. If it wasn't for Disturbed, their music lifted me up. When I was dealing with soul crushing problems. Their music pulled me out of the mud.
Got to meet David many years ago. His kindness has left a lifelong impression on me. One of the most down to earth rockstars out there!!!
Going to see Disturbed for the 15th time on February 26th. They get better every time. Great band. Great show.
I totally agree! They get better everytime I see them. ❤❤❤❤
I've met this man a few times. He's so down to earth and makes you feel at ease.
That was awesome. Long live Disturbed.
Always awesome to hear David speak. Such a talented singer and extremely well spoken and intelligent guy.
Thank you for signing my CD. I did your in-ear monitors. It’s funny because I did not know who you guys were. You guys gave me great seats and I was in Awe. I never saw somebody dance so cool to heavy music.
David seems like such a good guy. I will say he is one of the most unique vocalists. The first time I heard them I was like what the hell is this!!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention they continued to put out bangers every album cycle.
Ehhh they haven't really made anything I enjoyed since Immortalized and even that had a lot of stinkers
How humble, how devoted... this guy and his band impresses me.
You can tell David has gone through hell on his own, and has come back stronger to help others to get over it...his empathy comes from a true place of pain
Wow ...deep respect to David.
If more people were as humble and down to earth as David Draiman the world would be so much better off! He is an excellent example and model of who to be
I had the same stomach valve problem as he does. I doubt he'll ever see this, but that can be fixed now with a 'Linx device'. It's a titanium magnetic ring that's placed between the lower esophagus and the stomach. It opens when you eat or drink, stays closed when you're not. I was miserable for years. I had it done over a year ago, and I've never had a hint of heartburn or reflux. I had it done in Chicago.
Great talk with David,
I can remember playing shows with Disturbed back in the late 90s, they always treated everyone with respect and kindness. I knew they were something special for sure.
It makes me happy to see they’ve been flourishing all this time since. Easily one of the best frontman in rock and metal music hands down. “The Game” is still my favorite songs on the Sickness. 🤘
This is actually the most well put together and balanced interview I've seen of David. Not too heavy on the mental health stuff like in other interviews, but not totally neglecting the subject either. Just simply a good interview.
I love him. He is so intelligent and trained. Knowing his history (not by this) I LOVE that I don't love total head-banger all the time, but his VOICE. What a gift. I hear him as far as age. I use to be able to sing and not so much anymore.
David is such an incredible person and you can feel that when you go to a Disturbed concert! He and the band will go down in history as one of the best bands EVER! 🤘❤️
I am not disturbed by the music x I'm disturbed by listening to it over and over again x I love ❤ it and its not just for the young as I'm 74 x what a voice ❤ to you all x
what a man. never heard any rock star being so humble, honest and real. kudos
No smoking, no drinking, careful dietary, no partying or late nights - Impressive Frontman!
What a great grounded guy David Draiman is! Nice to see the someone besides the huge success could be such a humbled guy!
Absolutely love David Draiman, man. We got to see Disturbed in Charlotte, North Carolina last Summer along with Breaking Benjamin and Jinjer. It was a phenomenal show! Listening to David share his story hit home. I'm glad he's still with us, rocking out and rocking hard!
🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Wow. That's a hell of a lineup for a show!
I was at this exact same show, it was absolutely amazing! Real, authentic, and an absolute blast.
Great interview. Dave is such a humble , and down to earth guy! ❤
He's a great guy, he will stop the show to help out a fan who is struggling with something like the rest of us. He has my upmost respect.
Absolute all time favorite band. At the age of 2, my daughter would sit in the backseat of the car and say "momma play sickness, play sickness momma". She would sit there and headbang in her carseat and belt out every single word. She is now 22 and sickness is still her favorite song. My favorite is stupid. I literally just attended a disturbed concert on Jan 23rd at the Resch Center in Green Bay, WI.
Dudes always level headed, Great Voice, Humble, Down to Earth
Im 64, just got done with my fanatical dance/exercise routine to Stupify and Down With the Sickness. Then comes on this great interview with a wonderful man!!! Love it.
Fantastic interview! David is one of a kind and an absolute gift! Not just as a singer but as a human being! I can tell he cares from how he interacts with fans at shows and now hearing how he and Disturbed treat each other with such respect! I don't know if he'll be reading comments and I don't usually direct comments to someone in an interview, but if I could say anything to him is thank you for absolutely blessing us with his amazing talent and for being such a good human! We need more people like him in this world. To so positively affect so many people that don't personally know him nor ever have met him is incredible! I feel selfish being thankful for that considering how much he sacrifices to be able to continue singing but thank you to him and the rest of Disturbed! ❤
Literally just went to a Disturbed show last night, such good showmanship
One of the best frontmen ever
Absolutely love the band Disturbed, have all their albums. David has such a raw unique voice, love it.
2002-2008 was a magical period for young Rock and Metal fans 🤘thank U it was awesome
Thanks for mentioning The Warning. To the comment section, if you haven't been Warned yet, your time is fast approaching. Once they pull you in, there's no escape.
Fellow Warning Army here, rock on🤘🤘
Love The Warning! They're badass rockers!!
They held me captive until their last song. Pissed me off.

The knowledge and depth of this man is unmatched in the industry. Who he is as a human being....David is on a whole different level
Great interview, very well spoken and thought out questions. I truly enjoy hearing David speak, he is such a truly grounded, humble, and down to earth individual
David is a legend, always will be. Love watching him engage with the interview material, to grace us with his infinite wisdom. His music opened up my mind a long time ago, I wish I could hear it again for the first time.
Great interview. I’m glad you were able to recover it. I have so much respect for David and Disturbed for what they do for mental health awareness and their fans. I was lucky enough to be invited on stage in 2019 after sharing my story with them at the meet greet. If it wasn’t for their music, I’m not sure that I’d be here today.
Rock is dead? 😂😂😂😂 Love you David! ❤️🔥🤗💋🥰Thanks you for this interview.
David is so well spoken. And to think he can fuckin shred like he can too. Wild man.
7:26 This. So much this. Honesty throughout a piece of music - the lyric, the melody, the harmony, the rhythm - is so impossibly rare anymore. Disturbed has held true to their work, and that’s what makes them shine above the rest.
I KNEW IT! I love his singing voice and because I knew he was from an orthodox Jewish upbringing, I’ve always wanted to hear him sing the Mourner’s Kaddish! It must be BEAUTIFUL to listen to… Am Israel Chai!
DEFINITELY.... VERY good that Mr. Draiman disspells the myths about what happens backstage 💪!!!!
Such a great interview with David! He is one of a kind who is very generous, kind, and humble. He's not afraid to show vulnerability. That's a real man right there!
Disturbed is my favorite band of all time! Great songs and hope to see them in concert one day!
I'll never forget my 3 year old son was hiding from me and I was frantically looking for him. I went out in my front yard contemplating calling the police to report him missing when suddenly I hear him up in a grapefruit tree singing Down With The Sickness!
Absolutely come to really respect David wholeheartedly
This interview was awesome 👍 thanks
It is a great interview!!! 👍
David, I could sit and talk with you for hours. I love your honestly about how this can be a lonely road. I watch every interview this man does because of how genuine he is.
David is the most real and talented Rock Singer of the last 20 years
I had the pleasure and absolute honour to meet the band in Manchester. A great bunch of lads and so humbled. Disturbed have a lot of time for their fans. Full respect to them. 🤘🏼

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAVID!!! We appreciate and love you!
When I graduated bootcamp from the Corps in 01, Disturbed and Godsmack were the 2 CDs I bought from the PX and it was amazing.
Dang! Acid reflux? Loneliness?!! I'm gonna be praying for you David!! You're such a real and substance filled man!! Sooo love your voice!! If you dont sing, you can sure be a radio/talk show voice!!! ❤❤❤❤
I am SO obsessed with living in the moment...!!@@....!
David Draiman has had some of the largest influences on my life. He's an amazing artist, caring person, and just down right awesome. Loved growing up to Disturbed and still listen to them this day. Just a little sad I have yet to see these guys live myself.
I imagine him as a child, singing in a choir, knowing it's led to his incredible voice.
Magical.
Just an all round thoughtful and well rounded person. The world would be a better place with more like him.
Such a humble man. I love to hear him give his opinion and advice on anything.
This needs be be shared the hell out of! The interview hits on so many levels i strongly believe anyone who watches this will be in a better place.
So many like myself learned to sing in Church or whatever house of worship. I think that that is a cool side of what religion offers. Great interview❤❤❤
Awesome conversation. Great job dude. Love this band. Their music got me through tough times 🤘
Such a well put together person. Glad he's here.
I got my first tattoos with Ghost Flames and many more and counting with Disturbed playing in the background. I always requested their songs..true story!🖤❤️💯
He’s a cool dude, down to earth.
I got to meet him in okc and he was awesome. They all were. Amazing show
Great interview. Saw them at Mohegan Sun lastnight, it was an amazing show🤘🏼🤘🏼
I'm in my 60's and just found Disturbed when I heard your version of Sound Of Silence and I remember hearing the original. I love it! I think that both versions are awesome. It says the same thing though it's comes up to you at a different way. Love his voice! Since then I have come to know that I was listening to your band for a lot longer. Now I'm a lifer......
I loved collecting all of my Disturbed albums "CDs" as a kid growing up and reading all the lyrics while I listen along. Disturbed, Meshuggah, Slipknot and Static X and many more! Marilyn Manson was a big one. I carried a CD player and headphones to school and back, got me through alot of school days lol🤘🏻🤘🏻

What a great interview. Some powerful moments in there! The loneliness of the road, his son, and not living too in the moment and looking a thousand yards ahead stood out to me. 🤘
Appreciate you bro 🔥🤘
My first favorite band, and 1st live concert. Great memories attached to this band.
I love the how he focuses on the singers that still sing like he knows all the backin track singers
This interview was KILLAH! Blessings from New England.
