Part of the downside is that he isn't a standout follower. Very interesting. I always liked him. Kept him as a follower until I added Grunt.
Even though Zaeed doesn’t have a proper dialogue tree, he’s still my favorite companion along with Garrus. His quips are the best.
I believe that's one of the best things about Zaeed. He doesn't need a dialogue tree. I honestly think that breadcrumbs of him talking let you know him better than you'd learn with a dialogue tree. He talks only when he's really got something to say. He's just a simple man making his way through the Galaxy.

To my opinion Zaeed had the best animated face in all off the series ... you just took a lot at it and thought ok this fellow has seen some bad shit and probably went through worse .... kinda handsome
Zaeed would be one of my favourite companions if he had full dialogue conversations. It's a shame because the way Bioware handled conversations with both Kasumi and him diminished their characters a lot. They aren't just as memorable as the rest of the crew, except Jacob. I really don't see why they wouldn't be on the base game with recruitment missions.
Get the fuck out of here Jacob was cool. I agree though I felt Zaeed and Katsumi were underutilized especially with Mass Effect 3 like there was so much more they could have said and done.

He was one of my favorites for sure, I loved everything about the character and he was a tank in combat to boot! Some of the best and most badass lines and moments and had some of the best dry humor you could ever write!
Best member of the team, no doubt about it. I love every character but Zaeed will always be my favorite.
Zaeed is the gold standard of the "Space Mercenary" archytype. Backed up by MASTERFUL voice performance.

I like Zaeed, reminds me of a guy I worked with in Morenci. He even has the same voice. I would've been nice to have a renegade dialog option when choosing to save the people in the refinery. Zaeed has some of the best lines in the series, had me laughing quite a few times.

I use Zaeed on every mission. There's so much comedy gold and baddass one-liners to be had.

Another excellent video. You have managed to capture every moment with this character. Still, as awesome as he is, it just isn't worth the price of buying him. His lines can all be summed up in a video barely under an hour. It's a real shame honestly because both him and Kasumi are interesting characters.
He is well worth his price. It was EA's stupid decision to put him behind paywall and to send Drew away from the studio. Jacob only wishes to be this cool. (or loyal..)
Mass Effect Trilogy (compilation for PS3 and others) had him included and so does Legendary Edition. So he definitely is worth the money.
Robin Sachs (R.I.P) who was Zaeed’s VA also voiced, among other things, that black air force of a Shark in Spongebob that replaced Mrs. Puff that one episode Seargent Roderick.
He was also the militia commander in Redcliffe in Dragon Age: Origins.
This voice actor was also the shark driving instructor in SpongeBob
You didn't go through the whole story of his rifle in ME2, or the email in ME3 that includes a repair kit for that rifle.

Never liked this guy in 2, just an old, grumpy, merc. Plus Im a lawful stupid paragon and his first actions, choosing to sacrifice dozens of people for revenge, didn't sit well with me. But I love Aussies, and Kano is my favorite MK character and Zaeed is basically a slightly nicer Kano, so I kept him around and used him on a lot of missions, and slowly his mannerisms grew on me. And then 3 came around, and oh boy does he become one of my favorites, playing claw for a kid who lost their credits, broing out with Garrus while boobytrapping your apartment, and flirting with Samara. Its all such a fun time with him around, love Zaeed.
Speaking of combat-savy Hanar, and i get it was just a joke, but are there Hanar, Elcor, and Volus who can fight? Armed or unarmed or whatever.
Several volus were at multiplayer of Mass Effect 3. Really good supporters. Those industrial combines they own can deliver great gear for them. Elcor-soldiers use big shoulder-mounted guns with VI-assist. Their enemies have called them "living tanks" and with other names less flattering. No mention about hanar as they are so enviromentally dependent. They are apex predators though and have enlisted drell to fight for them.

Ok, confession time, the first time I went on Zaeed's loyalty mission I flat out left him to burn. I have no problem with hardass but if you act so rash, so reckless and so self destructive on mission I don't care about your hang ups, you're out.

Sort of an Estuary English Accent (Think of it as a less cockney version of cockney) , but he pronounces his 'L''s and his 'T's a little with a little less glottle in some words which I imagine is closer to how Mr Sachs sounded.
