- A compendium of five short but terrifying tales contained within a single full-length feature, this film conjures scares from traditional bogeymen and portents of doom. In one story, a monster escapes from its holding cell. Another focuses on a husband (Leslie Nielsen) with a creative way of getting back at his cheating wife. Other stories concern a rural man (Stephen King) and a visitor from outer space, and a homeowner (E.G. Marshall) with huge bug problems and a boozing corpse.

Director: George A. Romero

The one on the beach freaks me out the most. "If you can hold your breath..."
I think so too
I crack up every time Leslie Neilsen screams "I CAN HOLD MY BREATH FOR A LONG TIME!!!" Yeah good luck with that...😂
The goofy music after he says that makes me not surprised he turned to comedy
The part that always cracks me up is when Dex says “and I don’t even know what it wa-ha-ha-ha-aaaasss!!!” and “I guess he got his chance!” After he’s good and cracked. He played hysterical so well.
I love the look on his face when the first wave hits him.
Leslie Nielsen plays menacing here so effortlessly. One of my favorite roles of his.
A really fun reaction for a really fun movie, Showdown. Disco dancing Ed Harris, Stephen King playing the biggest rube imaginable in a performance Nicolas Cage would think went over the top, Frank Drebin killing Sam Malone in a truly fucked up way, Hal Holbrook feeding Adrienne Barbeau to a giant fanged ape, and a man v. cockroach showdown (ha!) that might be the best fifteen or twenty minutes George Romero ever directed. CREEPSHOW kind of has it all, really.
#classic
As one of the 7 millennials watching, that Jordy-grassman story still haunts me. Great reaction man, I never miss your videos 😂
I appreciate that !!
If you ask me, dancing like that, they had it coming 😁
lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Classic! Love Creepshow 2 as well. Also add Two Evil Eyes which has 2 stories.
One directed by George Romero which is my favorite part & features Adrienne Barbeau
and E. G. Marshall who played in the roach segment. Also George Romero's wife plays a nurse.
She also played a nurse in Monkey Shines by Romero. She was in The Crate segment of Creepshow.
I wanted the chimp Emma to kill her not the birdie
Ed Harris has been brilliant in many an intense role over the span of his career, but nothing can come close to matching the intensity, nay, the FEVER he produces with his Creepshow dance.
I love this movie. The holy trinity of horor collab - Romero/King/Savini. You can't go wrong. You simply can't. Such a loveletter to the trashy (I use the term with love) comics from back in the day. The cinematography, the editing, and particularly the lighting effects...its the best comic-come-to-life technique used in film then...and still is today IMO. And the cast. Just too damn stacked for its own good. This movie taught me so much as a little boy. Don't touch meteors, dont get married to Adrienne Barbeau, always answer the phone "Talk to me!" and never, EVER try to recreate Ed Harris' dance moves.
If only John Carpenter had followed your advice lol
a couple of my notes: (hal holbrook's friend who first found the beast) was played by fritz weaver-- i know him mainly from the twilight zone episode where he played opposite burgess meridith in "the obsolete man."
there's been a british film company, amicus productions, that about all they made was what they called "portmanteau" movies that were set up like creepshow: smaller tales wrapped around an overall story-- they did the first "tales from the crypt" movie, and followed it up with "the vault of horror." lot of old british actors chewing up the scenery.
"I CAN HOLD MY BREATH FOR A LOOOONNG TIIIIME!"
The tagline was certainly accurate, this movie was a lot of fun. And the cast is all perfect, they know exactly what kind of movie they're in (although I was impressed with how much Leslie Nielson held back, but like I said, perfect). The sequel is good too, though not quite AS good. It only has three stories (with an okay animated wraparound), but they're still effective.
THANK YOU
1. The little boy playing Billy is Owen King, Stephen's son.
2. There IS a CREEPSHOW II also by King. Same format but different stories. Great cast again.
3. King does cameos in many of his movies. This is my favorite performance by him.
4. Tom Atkins/Billy's dad played Rehme in "Escape from New York". Adrienne Bsrbeau 😇(the cage) also plays in it.
5. My favorite story is "The Crate".
CREEPSHOW II
czcams.com/video/31kmwfKGzU8/video.html
Creepshow II with the segment named "The Raft" is my favourite (and the most disturbing).
SHOWDOWN 🍿 🍿 🍿
Yes do creepshow 2!! All 3 stories in that one are really good.
Bro lookin like Kimbo Slices Dad I LOVE IT!!!
"Just let it call you Billie"
Creepshow (1982) is still one of my all time favorite from my childhood
loved it
"You know what Henry? You're a regular barnyard exhibit. Sheep's eyes, chicken guts, piggy friends... and SHIT for BRAINS!"
Fun Fact: During Fan Expo Canada 2015, George A. Romero had said that the cockroaches were the most expensive part of the movie, stating that the cockroaches cost fifty cents a piece, and they used more then two hundred fifty thousand of them, a grand total of one hundred twenty-five thousand dollars on roaches alone.
Cast Shenanigans One: During a break in filming, Stephen King took his son to a McDonald's, and as a joke, Joe was made-up with bruises, cuts, and scabs. The girl at the drive-thru window called the police when she saw him.
Cast Shenanigans Two: While he was all business in his scenes, Leslie Nielsen had a fart machine in his pocket during the shooting. He would let it go off during rehearsals, and just before "Action" would be called, causing Ted Danson and the crew to crack up with laughter.
Cast Shenanigans Three: Ted Danson, who played Harry Wentworth in "Something To Tide You Over" said in a television interview that his daughter was on the set during the scene where his character returns from the dead, encased in rotting flesh and seaweed. He purposefully tried avoiding his young daughter, out of fear of scaring her. Finally, despite his best efforts, she went up to him, looked at him and simply said: "Oh, hi, Dad."
I love Creepshow...I used to rent it at blockbuster
One of my favorite things about this movie is how they transition from real life to comic.
yeah that was pretty cool!
Hey Popcorn just finished watching your last upload 🙂 Very Creepy 😃😃 But I liked it. Can't wait to see what's next.Thank"s for Sharing
Glad you enjoyed it
Fun fact: During the filming of 'Something to Tide You Over', As much as he was all business during the filming scenes, Leslie Neilson kept a fart machine in his pocket that he would use before the 'action' cue to make Ted Danson and the whole crew Crack up laughing.
pretty cool
Classic 👍dope reaction 👌
I want my popcorn, Bedilia!
I was waiting on your reaction to "The Hitchhiker" but forgot that was Creepshow 2.
Absolutely hated that bug story, that was the worst!
The ted danson & his girlfriend zombie makeup was just latex brushed over cotton. No sculpting with clay, no molds or casting in rubber. Tom Savini is the man when it comes to making low budget monsters!
nice !!!!
This is one of those movies that if somebody comes over while you're watching it, you just stop the movie because they won't understand why you're watching it. It's good though. It's just for a certain audience.
This is the best Horror Anthology film ever. “Where’s my cake?!!!!”🤣👍
that stuck with me for A few days
Dude, I was laughing right along with you from the very beginning of this video to the very end! I have been dying for you to check this one out since I first discovered your channel; you did not disappoint!!!! One of my favorites. My favorite episodes are the cockroaches and the Ted Danson/Leslie Nielsen one, although the Stephen King episode is really good, too. Thanks for doing this one!!!!!
I still have a big VHS collection packed up somewhere and you bet I got this one in there XD
Awesome
I’m from the vhs era and this was popcorn good awesomeness (It really upset my little ass to know that TonSavini kept Fluffy’s head (the Crate Creature) on his dresser facing him in his own dam bedroom made me die but also when he was married to Adrienne Barbeau (Swamp Thing) would ask her into the room to kill a spider because John Carpenter was a horror master lmaooooo
John Carpenter couldn’t kill a spider *
My friends rented this in French on Beta. I was double terrified by the voices not synching with the lips. 😨🤣
hahaha!!!
Have seen this a couple times and they were all good stories. 👍
had a good time
I almost choked at Worcestershire sauce 😭 for the grown folk, indeed
😂😂😂😂
This movie was a great tribute to all those old scary comic books that I used to read at the drugstore down the road. Tales from the Crypt, The Vault of Horror, Weird Science, there were a bunch of them. Bernie Wrightson was probably the best artist from those stories. I loved the comics and I couldn't get to the theater fast enough to see this movie when it came out. Love your reactions! Oh yeah! Creepshow 2 is definitely worth a watch, but the ones after that are a letdown. Good to make fun of but nowhere near as good as the first two.
Cube is a good horror movie and The Collector. Definitely worth a watch.
ok cool will watch it
Yes! I wish someone would watch the "Cube" series!
One of my all time favorites. Saw it at the theater in 1982 with my aunt because my mom was too chicken. Thanks for the fun reaction! -E
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Does anyone remember when american dad referenced the hold your breath zombie people?
You know that was Stephen King’s son in the wrap around segment… Known author Joe Hill (aka JOE KING) Ha!
And yeah, Part 2 is a must for the channel. Though I gotta disagree with many here. 2 is fun but its not on par with 1. A) you get 5 vignettes, not 3...and the 3 in part 2 arent doing much more with the extra time to develop characters or anything. Its all still pretty one-note. Woodenhead goes on a one-by-one revenge tour. The lake monster/giant trash bag does his one-by-one thing and the hit and run dude gets smashed up, comes back, smashed up, comes back.
2) the cast in part 1 is WAYYYYY better. And not just bigger names...better acting. Part 1 feels like everyone is in on the gag, and it feels perfect when the acting is over the top. The acting in 2 is almost entirely just awful with no tongue-in-cheek. The three bad young men in Woodenhead, all four kids in the Raft and the main lady in the Hit and Run sketch...would have loved to seen Barbeau in that part.
3) Even the animation story linking the other tales together, better in 1.
That said, I still like Part 2, but I remember in the theater watching this saying out loud "what the fuck?" when th emovie was done after only three stories, thinking I was in for a couple more.
ok cool thank you !
I like Creepshow 2 itwould be great to see a reaction, you may also like to watch Cat's Eye (1985) which is another Stephan King scripted anthology movie. These are all nostalgic for me since I wasn't even 10 yet when these came out. My parents let me watch everything.
Creepshow 2 is my fav pretty underated in my opinion doesn't get much love
Tales From the Dark side the Movie is considered to be the real Creepshow 3
@@chrisbryz1652 the oil slick 😂
"Where's my cake Bedelia?!" I like Creepshow. This is always fun. Had to say this again. Sorry. I like all 5 stories. My favorite is the Leslie Nielsen one. He was funny.
loved it !!!!
THANK YOU BROTHER , ANOTHER ONE OFF THE MASTER-BAKER'S LIST
I appreciate that
That last part gave me nightmares
yes!
Love this reaction. I think this was my first horror film as a kid. Actually had the accompanying comic book for it. Gorgeous imagery. The Crate has haunted me all my life. Even now at 42, I'm wary of the space beneath staircases. Especially in commercial buildings 😂
Creepshow 2 is... kinda forgettable. It's not terrible but of the tales, only The Raft stands out. But it's worth watching just for that story alone.
Creepshow 3 is legendarily bad but Creepshow 2 is a solid sequel. The Raft story of Creepshow 2 scarred a lot of people back in the day, it has a pretty horrible monster.
nice, thank you !!!
Please consider THE DEAD ZONE with Christopher Walken
I've seen that one before
I like that your channel is just willing to go all in exploring more pulp style movies, regardless if they’re certain movies that typically get clicks or not.
It sets your channel apart from the dozens of reaction channels just watching
The Shawshank Redemption as if it was mandatory.
Failure to react The Shawshank Redemption risks your license as a movie reaction channel, LOL.
that is hilarious 😂😂😂😂 but true, I try to cover a little bit of everything
and thank you again
@@PopcornReactions Hey you know what movie I’d recommend that would keep in theme with the flavor of your channel.
The 1981 animated film,
“Heavy Metal”
A very influential cult classic.
If you don’t know anything about it, don’t research it. Just go in blind.
It’ll be a much funner reaction.
I think you’ll really dig it.
Omg this is the most fun I’ve had with you since you started the channel 😂 this is literally my favorite 80’s horror movie, it’s hilarious and entertaining on so many levels! I knowwwwwwwww you couldn’t handle those roaches 🪳 I think you were about to give up LOL 😆 JUST TELL IT TO CALL YOU BILLY OMG brilliant!
You're the best!
I love this movie. If you don't like that one about the bugs, then never watch "Joe's Apartment". If you enjoyed this maybe check out "Twilight Zone The Movie", "Tales From The Crypt", or "Deadtime Stories"? Great job.
thank you ! I remember Joe's Apartment with Jerry O'Connell !
Great movie check out part 2 really good
One of my favorite horror movies. Thank you 🍿
and thank you
Tell it to call you Billie!!! 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
I liked both Creep Show and Tales from the Crpyt. Now it's time to reminisce over some good old horror. Great reaction Showdown!👍🏾🍿🎥
Hope you enjoy it!
@@PopcornReactions I did. Thank you for your reviews. Are Mean Guns and Law Man w/ Stephen Segal: Episodes 1 & 2 still on your list of reviews?
Love Stephen King movies! Since Firestarter! Yeah, me and Drew Barrymore go way back!😂
I saw this in the theater way back when. Pretty 80's cheesy! Love your reaction.
very Cool, thanks again!
Watch Creepshow 2 next, it's good too!
14:19 - actually NO; Fritz Weaver starred in Creepshow; David Gale was in Re-Animator.
I know it's a bit late since you've watched RE-ANIMATOR since I've made this post lol
thank you
Millennials know what VHS are… we’re 28-41 years old. You meant Gen Z
I’m a millennial! Even had those Disney Clamshell cases

They redid the Creepshow series it's pretty good you should check it out..
Oooh maaan!! I loved this in 82. Holy crap I was 12. 😲

Meet Joe Black.
Creepshow 1 Was Good
In cinema terms this movie is a thoroughbred. Everyone who's anyone had a hand in it.
It's truly a masterpiece that brought together some of the best talents in the industry.
Hey showdown but tell me this didn't blockbuster or any video store have an eerie scary feeling when you went there?
Not to me, I lived inside video stores and hated leaving them
Creepshow 2 (1987)
Tom atkins dont fk around.
F roach mares lol!
1 is good but I think creepshow 2 ( 1987 ) is better . Catseye ( 1985 ) is another stephen king anthology and its really good too . Probably my favorite of the three .
🎉
I vote yes on Creepshow 2. It is better than this one. imo
Agreed

crazy movie
Smh 🤦♂️ roaches 🪳 damn gross!!
I know !!!!!
@@PopcornReactions some people call them mofo’s water bugs. Shid! They roaches lol 😆
😅😅😅😅
The little boy Billy is Stephen's son he even wrote The Black Phone with Ethan Hawke which is a pretty cool ass movie. So he's just as good of a writer and just as bad of an actor as his dad.
love this movie
