Kay made her cheese sauce, literally in reverse order đ€Ł Melt butter and then add flour to make a roux. Then you add your milk slowly! Then finish off by adding the cheese to melt it. That's why you could see huge chunks of butter just floating in the milk
That whole section was making me yell at my screen.

flour, milk, butter, cheese? So a cheese béchamel. A really... REALLY thick béchamel. Given the other things she's eaten/cooked on this channel, this is probably the most advanced cooking she's done so it's only natural she's blown away.
I always thought it was called a roux. The google machine says theyâre pretty similar. I learned something new today!
@@thepolyneer6242 pretty certain a roux is just flour and butter (aka fat). Which can be added to any other liquid to help thicken it. Once you add milk/cream, then itâs technically a bĂ©chamel sauce; she added cheese so itâs bĂ©chamel with cheese (so a sort of Alfredo-ish sauce haha). Cooking is fun and thereâs a lot of technical difference between some stuff, it can get really complicated.

She was a wee bit heavy on the flour and it wasnât in order but most likely somewhat edible.

Spaghetti Dogs actually sound like it could be a hallway decent dish, put some spaghetti in the bun and on top of the hot dog and eat it
Hallway decent sounds about right. Probably why itâs wrinkled
Thereâs an awesome hot dog joint near me that does creative dogs, like the Eddie Spaghetti dog. Itâs a garlic butter bun with Italian sausage, sketti, marinara and mozzarella. Havenât tried it but their Mile High dog topped with rare roast beef and horseradish is amazeballs.

The sauce , if done correctly with only that ingredients, actually is delicious. Is a basic white sauce. I just recommend adding a pinch of nutmeg and melting the butter in a pan, so the flour. Add the milk little by litttle and stir quickly and between the flour addings. After the sauce thickens, add the cheese , mix until combined,and adjust the salt only in the end.
leave the cheese and it's a bog standart béchamel sauce....

We did this with hotdogs and spaghetti when our kids were little. We'd stick the noodles through the hotdogs and boil it. But our noodles were not in just one spot đ It was actually good and the kids loved it đ

I recently made oatmeal with rolled oats, coconut milk, ginger, cinnamon, and applesauce in a small slow cooker. It was really good. Simple too.
Anytime I watch Kay, it reminds me of how I used to cook when my parents were not home and I was hungry so I would just combine things that id think would go well together and hald the time it tasted so gross that even the dogs wont eat it lol

That sauce she made is just a standard white sauce and you add the cheese in when it is cooking (though it shouldn't be lumpy). It is a very common sauce, it is the same sauce used in macaroni cheese. Another wonderful master cooking class with Kay đ, who knew putting spaghetti through hot dogs is a thing...đ

You add the cheese in small amounts at a time, once it's off the heat, so it doesn't separate and get that grainy texture.
She made her own type of Alfredo sauce .I LOVE Alfredo sauce , as long as it's made right...

As a bad cook myself, I'll admit that this one actually looked edible and I'm even considering attempting it.
And about 9:40, I'm 99% sure that what she put on that plate is just a poorly-mixed, clumpy, still-raw bechamel (flour, butter, milk). I think she was _supposed_ to make a bechamel proper then stir the cheese in to make mornay (cheese sauce) but instead she made this half-assed bechamel and put a put of cheese on top on the plate.

Wrinkly cooked hotdogs happen when you use too much oil to fry them, then keep them frying in the pan for too long.
Wrinkly uncooked hotdogs, means that the factory didn't put enough extenders or meat fillers in the wrapper to fill it up completely.
Some stuff for curious people who are just learning how to cook.

When making Alfredo, youâre actually supposed to do the butter and the flour first and then you add the milk and cheese. She boiled her too long and thatâs why it came out so thick.
Ok to be fair to Kay, I have done this idea when my kids were little. Noodles and hot dogs are like kid heaven. I let them stick the spaghetti and they had a blast, just happy to help dad cook. Just boil it down and bless it with some kind of sauce, cheese and done. Kids fed and had fun with dad, mission accomplished!
