Great video mate thanks for all the info cant wait to get my 128 in March đ keep em coming
I'm a big fan of the interior
Might remember me from your last video đ have you managed to get Launch control to work yet? I've read in the manual it only works in dry conditions after a relatively long drive with good grip and after the running in period. I've done just under 1K miles, which is well under the running in period but for the first time, out of the blue, managed to get launch control to work, even in the rain. It seems really hit and miss though but my god it's a good, fun feeling đ I got dash cam footage of it if you want to see but thought you might have got to play with it. Otherwise, great video!
Of course buddy I do. If Iâm honest I tried it the other day but due to the weather being horrible the car literally has no grip and I think itâs down to my tyre as well as theyâre the standard nonperformance ones, with my previous F21 I had to wait until the running period was over as it doesnât unlock officially till then. Iâm currently at 620 miles. Iâm just over halfway there to unlocking it. I have noticed when youâre in sports mode accelerating the car keeps on giving the power I looked down at the speedo and I was at hundred plus at one point đ.
@@that_kaa Yeah you get that awful shudder type mess as the car tries lurching forward and has 0 grip? I get you. My manual says overall, the running period is roughly 2000 to 3000 miles? I hit 1000 today and after a 2 hour drive from London, decided to try it. Wouldn't play ball -_- Yes I've done that wayyyy too many times, only realise when I glance at the HUD or try breaking đđ I've hit 120 before realising just how fast I was going..
Just tried it again and it worked!! đđ Typical BMW, hit and miss
Enjoying your videos thank you...very helpful. Two questions in one:- Regarding tyres, did you go for the performance tyre option....and, if so, what tyres did it come with. If not the performance tyre option..what tyres did it come with.....are they run flats?
The tyres on my car aren't the performance ones & to my knowledge any new 1 series are no longer delivered with run flats anymore they include an inflator kit in the cubby hole in the boot. The tyre make is Bridgestone T005's 225/40Y18.
Nice review đ thanks . I have a question đ€ What mpg have 128ti on city driving. Thanks
Thank you for your feedback regarding the video the answer is between 28mpg to 32mpg I've seen her at.
Man !đ you are so funny i bet in daily life too, the way u talked about ur glasses lmao ... and the hips that u compare to the suspensions ..
well it was so nice, can u tell'me more about the power of the engine? i know u need to still go slowly with it .. but what about the speed sensation consumption too need to know please
It's 261 bhp (265ps) and goes from 0 to 62 mph (100kph) in 6.1 seconds. most reviewers say it does around 40mpg on a run, and 30 mpg city driving so average around 35mpg (UK gallons).
@@cmpillred277 You can kiss that MPG goodbye though if you use sports mode a lot. I've also found that 0-60 to be unreliable, I've done it quicker and slower all depending on circumstances
@@TwistedGamingCZcams And I bet it's tempting too, I never pay much attention to the published figures which I reckon are set with a downhill circuit with the wind behind them lol, but some private owners that have posted figures (and there aren't many) have said it can be economical if you try but as you said then why buy this kind of car.
@@cmpillred277 Well put it this way. I did a 200 mile round trip today. Northampton to Guildford, London to Croydon, back to Guildford then back to Northampton. Started with a full tank. Relatively normal driving but in sports mode.. as I pulled into my estate, the low fuel light came on. that's with premium fuel too. I won't complain, I love the car but do not buy it for a daily commuter, it will cost a fortune in fuel.
@@TwistedGamingCZcams What's that about 10 gallons for 200 miles? Christ that's terrible I have an I30N and I thought that was a bit of a drinker makes mine seem almost economical, I was thinking of getting a 128 myself in March you have made me think. Shows how the official figures are B****it!
Hey great video! Now we know fake interior noise can be reduced but not deleted all. But real exhaust sound changes too in sport mode right? (Must be a mechanical damper or something i think). By the way at minute 2.29 i cant hear the key word of your suspension comparation đ , what did y say? Thanks for info!
Yeah I compare it to a popular brand of mattress beginning with the letter T. I didnât want to be sued for copyright purposes so I blocked it out.
A vid on Costs and its car rivals!!
Car rivals will be coming soon, it's taking time because of the lockdown and dealerships not getting back to me.
What do you mean by âpassive set-upâ, Do you really think there is a real mechanical change in the car even without active dampers? đ€
In Germany I can not turn of the sound. Why? Can you help me? đ
what do u prefer between driving this and the f21?
Very good question, when I had my F21(120i Shadow edition 184bhp) my ownership with it was cut short roughly around 19,000 miles and I actually really lost trust in the car. It was eventually fixed on the warranty after two weeks of going back and forth with BMW service department. So that really dampened my mood towards the previous generation. It was a great car to own and to have experienced a rear wheel drive car is something else. It was FUN!
You can't really compare these cars like for like. As it is front wheel drive on the F40 128ti with 265bhp is a different kind of vehicle power wise this car is a lot safer to drive and you know that won't end up in a ditch if you take the corner too fast.
I feel the F40 generation is more of a grown-up design and practical vehicle that BMW has produced with the addition of a little bit of fun and more of safety features added to it.
The rear wheel drive car will be missed but safety, cheaper car insurance & practicality is more important for me nowadays. Plus the main thing that attracted me to the F40 variant is the newer technology that these cars come with and I actually like the design of it.
@@that_kaa thanks for your reply. I really like the new interior of today's BMWs, but still prefer the rear wheel drive, i think it's a very different feel
@@ChooseYourIllusion93 Have you considered the G20, thats still a rear wheel drive.
@@that_kaa yeah my dad has that car and it's amazing, maybe less sporty than the previous gen but globally improved.

@@that_kaa What happened with the F21?
1:13 the live cockpit looks different from the M135i !
This isn't the live cockpit, on the 128ti it's an optional extra which also includes a larger main infotainment screen. This car has the standard dials.
@@paulmansell8727 so theyâre real not digital ? I think I like these more
@@chakibabd1413 they're digital too but not customisable, only the middle screen between them shows extra stuff. Personally I'm not a fan of them which is why I upgraded to Live Cockpit Professional.
â@@chakibabd1413 So the only part thats digital in the analog cluster is the middle section, I think the standard 8 inch screen is more than sufficient size wise. Remember it's not how big it is, its how you use it that's important haha. The both had the same technology built into it it's just a different size. Plus you can save ÂŁ1000 and put that thousand pounds into a different options.
Spoke about this in my previous video and my thoughts on it. Here is the link to that video skip 5 minutes in czcams.com/video/duJl-NdeAjM/video.html
@@that_kaa Can you have a clear digital speedo showing in the centre panel?
