    Lumbar support isn't that, if you spec lumbar you get it for driver and passenger as I have it, that's side bolster support. Also, welcome carpet light you showed is only on driver's side on all BMW (came from the bmw 7 series first and that's the same), a little driver special it's meant to be anyway. I've changed the passenger puddle lights to LED projector ones that are nice and easy to fix that. Nice car and overview, I like it 👍

    Very informative video. I'm on the verge of ordering one also in black. In your honest opinion could this be a daily driver & the ride overly firm?

    @burso83 Před 3 lety +1

    Before you mentioned the missing BMW logo light on the passenger side I have not noticed that :D It's the same on the 2 series GC. The missing trim around the passenger vent does not bother me tbh.
    The two things I find annoying are:
    1) Passenger side wing mirror reverse parking kerb view, angle is not adjustable by the driver. This was a feature on the 2013 Mk7 VW Golf, so surprised BMW missed this. For me it turns down too much and I ended up not using it at all. I have adjusted the mirror in the default position in a way I can see a bit of the kerb when parking. If the angle is not adjustable, I think it defeats the object.
    2) The gap that wipers leave on the right hand side of the windscreen is massive and if dust gathers there (when wiped) it further expands the non visibility through the A pillar, which I find a safety issue. IMHO the wipers should cover a wider area on the driver side to leave a smaller strip of dirt there.
    Could you answer one question for me please. I have not been able to get a positive confirmation on the boot opening mechanism. When you press the boot button on the key fob to unlock the boot, does this automatically open wide fully or does it only unlock and opens the boot door ajar and you then have to use your hand/arm to fully open the boot?
    Thanks

    • @that_kaa
      @that_kaa  Před 3 lety +1

      Cars that aren't spect with the electronic boot, only unlocks the boot and opens it up till it's resting on top of the lock then you need to physically lift it up with your arms fully.

    • @burso83
      @burso83 Před 3 lety +1

      @@that_kaa that's a bit of a shame, the GC bootlid opens fully when unlocked with the keyfob. Must be a different mechanism altogether. Thanks for the quick reply.

      @that_kaa  Před 3 lety +1

      @@burso83 I just googled the boot opening for your car and the boot mechanism is completely different. I think too overcome this down the line I might either retrofit the Electric tailgate or even purchase stronger struts.

    Awesome video! Few things I picked up on having just brought the 128ti as soon as it launched in the uk;
    Passenger lumbar: Mine has it? Not sure if it's because I have the comfort pack, but the buttons are deffo there for driver and passenger and even with the seats being electric, the only thing is the passenger doesn't have memory.
    MPG: How often do you drive in sports with manual gears? I drive 90% in sport with flappy paddles, and my MPG is like, 12.. although that may be my driving 😂
    Parcel shelf: I never knew about that and it's so cool! That's an awesome feature you never knew you needed.
    I totally agree with the 2nd and 3rd dislikes though, I only noticed the 3rd yesterday when a friend asked why I didn't have them and I realised it was only on the drivers side.

    • @that_kaa
      @that_kaa  Před 3 lety +1

      Cheers buddy, I believe if you spec the car with the comfort pack 2 it comes with the passenger-side electronic lumbar support option the memory seat is only for the driver side.
      MPG: Sports mode if honest I haven’t done an journey with it fully on. Plus if I drove in sports mode all the time I wouldn’t really care about my mpg. I was like that in my previous car.
      I’m glad you liked and enjoyed the video thank you very much. There are more videos coming.

    Great video, taught me a couple of things I’ve overlooked on my 128ti. On the subject of fuel economy; was the 38mpg you’ve achieved at steady dual carriageway speeds or urban cycle? I’ve covered 230 miles in 11 days of ownership and the best average I’ve managed is 31, 80% city driving and some pretty blatant hooning.

    • @that_kaa
      @that_kaa  Před 3 lety +1

      I haven't had the chance to hoon mine yet. I am taking it easy for a few more miles still running it in. 38mpg was achieved on A Roads & the Motorway. Urban driving I have seen her at 32mpg in ECO Pro mode because I'm an old fart! 🤣😂🤣

    • @AbsoluteZero1974
      @AbsoluteZero1974 Před 3 lety +1

      @@that_kaa my 31mpg was in ECO Pro as well 😂 I'm also in the older age bracket (46) so I really should know better. My last car was a 2014 A5 Black Edition diesel which regularly returned 32mpg in rush hour traffic, I suspect I'm going to have to be more gentle with the 128ti 🧐

    • @AbsoluteZero1974
      @AbsoluteZero1974 Před 3 lety +1

      @@that_kaa The A5 was getting a little long in the tooth and I'd promised myself one last hoorah before succumbing to an EV. Original plan was to get a two year old S5 as my ICE swansong, but BMW threw in a curve ball with some very generous deposit offers. The new 4 Series was on my radar but rear wheel drive would've made annual trips to Download Festival tricky (first sign of rain and it's always the RWD cars that end up having to be towed out of the car park field at Donnington). The 128ti ticks every box for practicality and usable performance, it's quicker than my friend's Porsche and I believe it represents better value for money than the M135i.
      Also, my local Audi dealer didn't seem interested in sourcing a car for me so I walked away.
      My only regret is not coming over to BMW much sooner, I feel like I've missed all the fun 😂

    • @that_kaa
      @that_kaa  Před 3 lety

      Good question & true. The APR rate doesn't look as appealing on a used vehicle versus a brand-new one @2.9% with Dealership contributions added on top you can get them cheaper for less then 40 grand.
      My previous vehicle was on 0% finance which was great. The lowest used APR I found on a m140 was 6.5% and the highest was 10.9% from bmw dealership but haggled it down to about 8.9%.
      Yes doesn't have a six cylinder engine and yes it's not rear wheel drive. I've test driven and m140i they are lovely cars to have but too expensive to run. Plus you have to consider the extension for the warranty.
      I like that new car feeling plus was impressed with the courtesy car that I got given whilst my F21 was in for warranty issues.
