Sherlock : Jarvis , I really need the suit now
Jarvis: Sorry Sir, my servers won't go online for another century at least.
@@abdizur8765 😭😭😭
You have simultaneous ruined this clip, but also made it a million times better
Deploy! DEPLOY!
Thid made me think of Jarvis with an American accent
When you realize they were simply fighting over a remote control
To be fair, it was the first remote control
And wouldn't you fight over what you want to watch
Moriarty got the remote control, they were fighting over the cyanide containers.
Moriarty didn't wanted the control remote he wanted the poison as a base for his chemical weapons
The plot isn’t that hard to follow good lord.
Curious how both RDJ and Tom Holland unmasked an evil fake magician on top of the Tower Bridge.
While one fakes an English accent and the other fakes an American accent.
Isn’t it the same bridge?
Quite curious indeed Marble, it seems marvel made an allusion, perhaps
Tom Holland will play Holmes one day. Change my mind.
@@Alexanderbuilds2001 technically, no. The original Tower Bridge was sold to France I believe and the current one is a replica
I love how layered the dialogue is, Sherlock knows she's been blackmailed into working for someone whom she's terrified of, hence "did you take a wrong turning somewhere?"
Considering he looks bewildered just after observing the surroundings, and immediately after that he says that, makes me think it's a quip about the location / the spatial situation solely, rather than something with a symbolic meaning.
@@mRGuitarShow1 Exactly
...or it's not that deep and he actually doesn't know anything about her and only quipped about them turning out at the construction site
@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 I've seen your pic before...
If I'm not mistaken, in the comments section of a Massive Attack song(?).

i love his reaction to her being pushed. he didn't dramatically yell out a sustained no. it was more of an exclamation than anything. always logical and reasonable, even when the woman he loves is pushed off scaffolding.
also, from his perspective, he could presumably see better than Blackwood that there was an outcropping below irene- you can see it also in the wide-angle shot- so he might have seen her fall wasn't as long as blackwood was hoping and thus he was free to focus more on neutralising Blackwood first
In the books, Irene isn't someone he is in love with, so the concept of him being in love with Irene is alien to me
He didn't assume anything, he waited until he had enough information. Reading the stories, Watson-as-storyteller made it clear Holmes didn't care for opinions.
@@doodlearmy6640 Don't say stupid things.
@@scottchaison1001 He is right tho
Trope failure: villain is supposed to wait for the hero to say "let her go" so he can say "very poor choice of words" before tossing the damsel off the edge.
It doesn't work as well here, since he's not actually holding onto her.
... "Trope failure" aside, can you name three times that that's happened?
@@andrewmihovich4252 I've seen the Dark Knight 3 times recently, does that count? 🤔
@@andrewmihovich4252 narnia: Prince Caspian. "Drop him!"

Rachel McAdams made a great Irene Adler. Can't believe she survives this epic fall just to die in the first 10 minutes of the sequel. Whoever made that decision SUCKS.
0megacron true , will sherlock holmes 3 come? They say she will be alive there again somehow
You really believe she is dead? Did you miss the scene where Sherlock sniff the bloody handkerchief, and then throws it in the sea? I always assumed that's because he can tell it's red whine and not blood.
I didn't even realize that. He even detected the wine on paper so that is entirely plausible.
she's still alive and befriend another sherlock
My understanding is that Rachel McAdams didn't want to keep playing that part. So they wrote her out.
It's amazing how this movie trick us into seeing science as black magic.
I don't get what you mean. There was no tricking the audience, only the people in the movie. It should have been obvious from the time period and the visual cues what was going on.
Sufficiently advanced technology, plus sleight of hand
I think you miss the point completely. In a purely material-based universe (like ours) people still believe in magic, and those who prey on the gullible use *mundane means* to pull off magic-like feats, to trick the crowds. Less "science=black magic" and more "there's never anything supernatural, only things that seem to be."
@@user-gb7ji6xy5d That's what I meant, how something that can be so logically explained could be just misinterpreted as witchcraft. Because until this scene, you can see how everything was much simpler that it really was.
This movie was sponsored by the catholic faith
Mark Strong was really good in this movie
Math Blaster so was Jude Law, RDJ, and Rachel McAdams
Agreed. If nothing else, Strong should get any role that Anthony Hopkins is requested for but can't do.
That's like saying "the grass is green." He's really good in everything he's in.
I guess he wasn't Mark Weak
You could say he gave a STRONG performance ??????!!?!?!!
This was one of my favorite parts of the movie. It's totally in keeping with the original series which was often about science lay behind things that seemed magical/gothic. I mean, a lot of this science here is bullshit, but it's the principle of the thing.
If Andy Garcia & Stanley Tucci fused, you'd get Mark Strong.
Wolf7th brundle fly.
Damn, yes!
No wonder Dr. Strange doesnt get along with Tony Stark
James Kim but they’re both Holmes!

I'm not sure what's weirder, Robert's English accent as Sherlock, or Benedict's American accent as Stephen.

these movies are criminally underrated
1:54 does anyone else notice how blackwood just hands the machine part to holmes making it easy for him
Well he does need his hands to save himself
If he hadn't he would not to be able to pull himself and stuck to the woods
@@samyakjain584 I can see that but wouldn't he just drop it first
you really notice the ravens when you re watch this movie, they seem to show when death is around, also is blackwood using wastons cane?
I think blackwood also received the hidden-sword-cane in the army.
It think it was just quite common for people to have canes, not so sure about having a blade inside them, but who knows I didn't live then 😂
I read a comment that said the ravens seemed to show up where the sacrifices took place with Blackwood's being the last. So maybe unbeknown to him there was some magic after all.
yeah, you can see during the earlier fight scene with dredger that he drops it, and since blackwood was also fleeing through the sewers he might have come across it and picked it up as a weapon
Ravens do have a reputation for sensing impending death
"The devil is due a soul I'd say." Great line. Pity it's not part of this video.
Damn good, and underrated, movie.
Does anyone else think Mark Strong looks a little like Steve Carell in a vampire costume in this scene? I was waiting for him to break down and do some Halloween rendition of the Scarn at some point.
Has a hidden rapier - uses it like a longsword
Never bring a sword cane to a battle of wits. Especially when your opponent is Sherlock Holmes. You WILL lose.
I guess not everyone is experienced in sword fighting
Why she didn’t grab his cane is beyond me. That’s like basic instinct to reach out and grab something when you’re about to fall backwards.
love this movie so much, the sequel was awesome as well
Great final battle.
Clever use of (a minor version of) the Westminster chime within the music score.
We need a 3rd movie ASAP

I bet if Mark Strong could play Lord Blackwood in my opinion I think he would be the perfect role Abdul Gasazi.
Who is that?
I expected this to actually be the movie’s Riechenbach Fall
2 part of the same coin united in rotation
I have one simple question - why when someone pushing movieheroes with something (like Irene in that scene) they didn't just catch it and start hold it?
Because he will simply let go of it and she will fall anyway. And later Sherlock did the same and it just unsheathe his weapon ( I'm talking about just this scene)
@@Simonka476 I mean when she, for example in this moment, just catch his stick and hold it - she will win some time for more action to save herself. But nope, she just want to cosplay Inflatable Man or something like that.
@@The911Crow The cane is a sword so as he pushed her back, the cane part would be what she was holding not the sword part at the front that Blackwood is holding.

Somehow downey as a holmes more relatable than downey as a stark....
Downey lacks the dour selfrighteousness necessary to be a stark, or any northman, really. Could see him as a dornishman or lannister.

Ahh this is brilliant. Rly. I was watching some clips from the BBC series, kinda trying to figure out why it feels off. Some of the issues r:
1. Watson is dull. Don't come with "he shot ppl", "He is actually active" or "he is more realistic this way" blah blah. Sherlock is not realistic at all, so they could have given Watson more character for sure.
2. Sherlock is too much of a "rude genius". In the books he is described as a well mannered man. Adaptations don't need to follow the original work word by word, but in this case, they should have. Bc having a smart character was much more deeper than an edgy teen.
3. Intellect is not a superpower.
4. They made some characters too sexualized. Not cool, charismatic or smth. Just sexual. And it doesn't feel like a "oh waow, so hot!", It feels like...I'm watching edgy fantasies of an old, retired dull guy. Rather than 2 partners fighting crime.
5. The problem is not about 2 guys being sexual, but it feeling more like a "family guy fantasy" rather than hidden or open romance.
Sherlock Holmes and Spiderman defeated a fake magical man on the London Bridge.
Cutting it off before the explanation? Lame.
Oh come on... they left out the best part! The explanation!
Ugh... freakin Movieclips. Ah well. What can ya do.
Let's hope no one has a cigarette outside that office covered in flammable liquid
That liquid probably washed away quickly.
