  • Today in HOI4 we will be ranking every single path Spain has to offer, not just the Nationalists and Republicans, but the Carlists, Anarchists and so on they will all be put to the test to determine which one is ultimately the best of them all.
    We will evaluate everything, national spirits, potential, how hard or easy the civil war is for each tree. No stone will be left unturned.

    I remember once trying to avoid a civil war by not doing either focus.
    The 1936 election event still happened, and about a year later all 7 spawned leaving me with Madrid and the surrounding area.
    Shortly afterwards the game crashed because the Nationalists tried to join the Axis via focus (for some reason the modifier which blocks them joining factions didn't get attached to them),
    However Germany had done "Oppose Hitler" and so there was no Axis to join which is probably why it crashed.
    I believe this was around the time Battle For The Bosporus came out so perhaps it's been patched since then.

  • @B-O-G
    @B-O-G Před rokem +42

    You've gotten a bit of an error at @15:57 saying that it costs 150 political power to core a territory. It's is true that it's 150 if you don't have any neighboring cores, but if the province neighbors one of your core territories (such as in southern France), it only costs 50 political power to core it. If it's somewhere else like in India, it means you can first core one province for 150 and then all of it's neighboring provinces for 50 each.
    Apart from that, the real drawback for Anarchists I've seen is that they're non-aligned, meaning they cannot justify wars unless world tension is at 50%. I ended up in a non-historical game where world tension didn't increase to that before 1945, which was annoying and a bit odd that anarchists would follow rules that strictly....

      @B-O-G Před rokem +10

      @@BubblesZest I think the limited pp gain is balanced out by the fact that you can finish the focus tree relatively quickly, omitting some focuses (like the fortification ones) and getting 1.80 pp per day with that one advisor. But yeah, biggest hurdle for me with the Anarchists is the justification limit since it makes it difficult to snipe some early conquests before WW2 takes off.

    The easiset thing to do with anarchist spain in regards to the political cost - buy one province that touches many others for the base 150pp, then after it cores you store up enough pp to buy all the cores around it at the same time. You can't go below 0pp, so if you spend it all on 6-8 provinces (300-400pp) you get a lot of cores for pretty much nothing.
    I use this when I play anarchist by attacking china right after the civil war is done and I control all of portugals former provinces, as I have land access now to guanxi clique. You can have some insane manpower pools, resources, and factories/build slots from doing this early on guanxi.

I had loads of fun playing that way, on historical. Also managed to outdo french industry thanks to total mob, which was nice I guess.
