being an end-game focus doesn't really stop it from being stupid, really what's the point? at least with the byzantine path of greece, you annex, integrate and then the cycle repeats until you integrate the entire empire it would have been just better if they given you a formable with multiple decisions for each hispanic colony, and given "reassert american dominance" a bonus that allows you to justify against american countries faster rather than to gather them up all together so your manpower goes to absolute zero

Thankfully, the Decisions from Reassert American Dominance are just that: Decisions. You can choose not to do any of them, and try the old trick of declaring on all of the required countries while you're at war with the U.S., though that requires the good luck of the U.S. and the Western Hemisphere countries starting a faction. Still, it's VERY frustrating that there are no similar decisions for annexing your Western Hemisphere puppets. It's one of those not-so-little oversights that makes the game more frustrating than it should be.

The final focus should probably be more generous and allow you to take it if all countries are either annexed or integrated puppets, so that it's still late game but not end game and that it could be useful if you need to fight some supercharged faction.

What is the point of the focus if it doesn't have the achievement? If you ate up that many countries it is already a world conquest so this focus won't make you progress the game at all. It is like Imperial Federation with UK. If you won't "cheat" it to speedrun and get cores fast you will finish it by the time the game is essentially over

With a nation like Argentina able to get cores on South America and Spain, it was extremely weird that Spain didn't have a path to get cores on South America. Argentina was better at Spain than actual Spain. I'm glad they addressed that.

Debatably. Still, a La Resistance path got buffed. Which is something different, would this have been the one I'd have changed first? Probably not, but here we are with it changed now. That's Paradox for ya.

The best way I found of doing the non-communist Russia is to actually go democratic. The game doesn't want you to, and has no actual path for it, but you can. Ban fascism as soon as you can. Only do the civil war tree up to Unification of the Exiles, then go full onto the right part with the Article 124 and down even before the civil war begins. Don't pick the Chita decision. Trigger the war through paranoia going over 90%, best way is to get it to 60% and then wait for Stalin to do the Terrorist Center focus. You get a random spawn for your capital, which can potentially be right next to Moscow (I once spawned in Nizhniy Novgorod for example, which is damn close). With this path, you can start the civil war in the summer of 36 and potentially win it before spring of 37 (though this one's down to luck and exploits, still, most of the time I managed it in autumn of 37 at the latest). You skip the entire left side of the political branch of the tree while moving ahead with the other half, so Zemsky Sobor doesn't take half a year to get to. You get all the monarchist focuses but a democratic tension limit and alliances. It's still significantly shittier than any of the communist paths, but it's better than non-aligned or fascist.
