- Our Kiger went for its 3rd free service at approximately 19000 Kms. We recorded most of what was done there and sharing with you for reference.
Here's what was done as part of this service (in-order of appearance in the video, almost):
1. Rear disc brakes inspection and lubrication
2. Front disc brakes inspection
3. Wheel balancing and alignment
4. Engine oil change
5. Engine oil filter change
6. Air filter change
7. A/C filter change
8. Car wash and polish
We had paid for a maintenance package last year so it cost us just 235 rupees, which was for the weights used for wheel balancing. It took about 4 hours for the entire service from start to finish.

Hi, my budget is 15L. Is it good to go for Kiger top variant CVT for 13.5 or middle variant of Sonet/Venue. What would be your advice?
Without a doubt you should go for Sonet or Venue (Sonet would be my suggestion). The quality is so much better that you will not regret it. The only reason that I bought this car was because I got it for 10.9 lacs on-road. But Kiger is completely unworthy of a price more than 11 lacs in my opinion. The materials, interior, engine, NVH, and almost all other things are very upmarket in the Kia / Hyundai sisters as compared to the Kiger. And this is my objective opinion as having seen both Kiger and Sonet in detail. If Kia had offered Sonet in the same price range when I bought the Kiger, I would have gone for it. I do not like the Venue design do I personally would never go for it but that is subjective so you can take your pick.

Short answer..
OK OK. I knew what I was going for so I am not disappointed.
If you have enough money go for Sonet.
Long answer..
I will try to tell you the various factors that are important to me.
Initial price: When I purchased this, it was a very value for money option for me. It gave me all the features that mattered to me at a very low price compared to the competition.
Quality: The low price comes at the cost of quality. The car does not feel as premium as the competing cars (Nexon, Sonet, Brezza and Fronx). To me the quality is acceptable. There are a few rattling sounds, not too many but they are there. The seat belt sockets are quite deep and every single person notice this instantly, once you get used to it this is not much of an issue.
Performance: Engine is powerful (I have turbo) and if you don’t care about bad mileage then you can enjoy pretty strong output. However at low RPMs it has vibrations. Clutch is hard (go for CVT if you can).
Mileage: I drive it mostly quite sedately and can get 13-14 in city and 15-17 on highway. If there is a lot of traffic this can go down to 10-11 as-well. My mileage figures are extremely accurate.
Design: This is subjective but my family loved it and it is very spacious as compared to its competitors. Seats are pretty comfortable.
Maintenance: Maintenance has not been too costly until now.
