If you put the subtitles on when the geordies are talking it's hilarious. That will be the first breakthrough for AI - geordie translation
Astounding that people live this kind of life style and are actually proud of it!
Mps do worse and are paid millions and its legalised theft.
Not that bright are they .
When you have nothing you will do anything to have something
Well they been to heaven and hell and they re still here to tell the story. The highs and lows of that life are very extreme, it takes a special kind of person for it
They are probably astounded that people follow the law.
Interesting and top dollar as always, I enjoy your work and presentation.

Lived in Newcastle all my life and a proud Geordie. I heard a story about one of the Sayers not long ago involving a friend, still a scary bunch and not far away from where i live. But Newcastle despite this documentary lol is a lovely place full of friendly people.
Sssshhhh! Keep the place a secret!
I remember going shopping in Newcastle one day with my girlfriend.
We had done our shop and was on the way back to the train station and decided to stop off at a typical Geordie Pub for a drink.
One room was the bar and the other room was the games room with the pool table.
I got the drinks in for my lass and myself and decided to put 10p up as a marker but wondered why it was taking so long so I decided to take a look. To my amazement the whole room had vacated and then I realised my 10p had vanished and that’s when I realised I was in the heart of Newcastle Gangland Territory.

The problem with these documentaries and even the books is that they can never get into the really juicy stuff, even now that members of the Sayers family are giving interviews, a lot goes unsaid. Why? Because no ones going to be stupid enough to fess up to crimes they haven´t been convicted of. If you were in the pubs and bars in the 80s and 90s I´m sure all sorts of things were known or suspected but not spoken of.
yh mate alot of shit is said by mouth about what happened and half of it is missed out in the video like some crazy crazy shit went down and people are dissing these ppl but have no clue what happened behind closed doors
Aye, no one talks about how the Sayers tried to use Lee Duffy against Viv Graham so they could take over the venues Graham looked after, and tried to use other villains to harm him or try to kill him, or how the Sayers are almost certainly the people who had Graham shot. And now they're twatting around giving interviews.
we grew up as kids; you're welcome Paddy.
I'm glad I live in Newcastle and my ears are adjusted to the local talk - otherwise I'd have a hard time understanding these gents. Captions may be a great idea for the non-Geordie folk 😉

Having had a misspent youth, I used to like cars I couldn't afford in the 80's. A lot of people I met in Low Newton and Deerbolt lived off the reputation of the people in this documentary. Probably never met any of the guys in the video. Surprised the Tam's weren't mentioned, went to school in Benwell with a few of them who also lived off the rep of their elders. As a Brit, I found it difficult too. Different regions have different dialects. You could go thirty miles down the road, and dialects and sayings would be completely different from each other. Paddy a great lad salt of the earth
I was a tad surprised that at LEAST 4 of the really top gun families werent shown in this video, well in hindsight that would have been a very stupid move on the makers of this series, to have named the real gang lords
Not that i have anything to do with underworld crime or gangster warfare, far from it
But im nothing to do with the police & law enforcement side either
However i do know about alot more notorious families in
Newcastle.
I think most people of my age knew, who was who, in the 1970s & 80s & apart from the Conroy family whos name cropped up here & there but they are small fry compared to the real Newcastle Mafia.
I doubt things have changed
With the criminal hierachy but
Sometimes good & effective well managed crime bosses are better at keeping riff raff out & watching for trouble much better than the police could dream of doing
I most probably think the police are of the same opinion that
The gang families of the past & exist today are better organisers & patrollers of the city & environs & leave it up to them!
Nothing like financial kickbacks
Its just common sense, the police just aggrevate situations & cock it up, whereas the crime bosses have it sewn up & anyone stepping out of line, KNOWS what to expect from the gang bosses
Its common sense really
Anyway thanks for the docu but its all wrong
🇬🇧👧
I agree. No gangster is going to talk openly like that - they're more the radgy loud bullies who grab at scraps thrown from a table on this show.
There are places where you'd not expect to see gangsters. There are estates where rich old grannies live along side younger gangster men. I once lived in such a place and oh my those gangsters can be spotted a mile off.
I'll also state that this video failed to speak to other radgy louder thugs also mentioned in it. I wonder why? It makes everything one sided and unfair.
