For anyone that's interested, there's a book called "Stop! Armed Police" by Stephen Smith. It contains a section about the Arifs and their illfated raid on the securicor van in 1990. Theres photos of the raid (taken by cops) so it's worth a rwad just for that.
Total setup by the cops from start to finish. Very reminiscent of the Woolwich raid in 1987 where Tony Ash was killed by the PT17 cops. Tonys body was left out for all to see - the message being put out by the state "if you're going to attempt armed robbery this is how you'll end up". Tonys brother stated as much.
