While parked on a Brooklyn street, Gas-pipe is enjoying a "late night ice cream". You couldn't make this shit up if you tried...'real life', is far more intriguing than that of imagination.

Following his arrest in 1993, Casso became one of the highest-ranking members of the Mafia to turn informant. After taking a plea agreement, he was placed in the witness protection program, however, in 1998, it was rescinded and Casso was dropped from the program after several infractions. Later that year, a federal judge sentenced him to 455 years in prison for racketeering, extortion, and murder. Casso died in prison custody from complications related to COVID-19 on December 15, 2020.
Yep. Bullets couldn't kill him but covid 19 could. I've heard a little conspiracy type talk that part of the reason that the feds dropped Casso from the program was his 302's directly contracted Sammy Gravano's 302's and the feds couldn't have the statements of their star witness against Gotti jeopardized, it would mean that Sammys testimony would have to be thrown out and Gotti would walk. I don't know. There might be something to that. I've wondered about it. Tommy Dades and his team was albe to corroborate some of what Casso said when he flipped, at least with concern to the mafia cops they did.
@@jaywinn1198 : No, he wanted Luongo as boss, but Buddy got killed by Casso & Amuso. Tony Ducks was already in prison by then , to avoid further internal conflicts he made Amuso the boss ( because Casso didn´t want the top position , just like they said in the Vvdeo ). Bad mistake.
Cosa Nostra would of been so much different if Buddy Luongo became boss (which he rightfully should have). Amuso and Gaspipe should have been clipped for the unsanctioned hit on him, but they couldn't b/c there was no body, so no murder.
@@AndrewBradshaw3 the section in the “Five Families” book on Vic and Gas is amazing. They killed like 45 ppl during their rise to power. He also killed random ppl that his neighbors had disputes with- one of his neighbors went to him because his wife was cheating on him and Gaspipe ordered his wife’s lover be killed. I remember watching a doc on PBS some years ago about the mob and the mafia commission trials and how all of its leadership was now getting jailed. At one part they were talking about Tony "Ducks" Corallo. They showed how the car at 2:21 got bugged. After parking the car TD got out and left to do dome business. There were two men he left behind whose sole purpose was to make sure NO ONE could get to the car; to steal it, or to bug it. Apparently bored, these two guard/protectors left the car unattended. WE can't hear them, but they probably said something like "fuck it, let's go, we'll be back in a few and nobody's gonna fuck with the car while were gone." The tapes show them walking away, and here come the the FBI agents springing into action; they had been tailing TD for some time just for this opportunity. TD always feared saying anything on tape at home, or at the businesses he frequented. He discussed business only in his car, it was safe. He thought. After all, he had his own car under surveillance FULL TIME by his OWN MEN. The FBI was of course quick, and the plant was made. TD got nailed. I often wonder what ever happened to those would be "made men." After the tapes had been public released these guys either became informants, or fled. Surely the FBI told them after arresting TD that they'd better run or else. Letting your boss getting nailed like this would have been an automatic clip on these guys. They are either dead men, rats, or living in Arizona under aliases.
This is when the family's power-base shifted from the Bronx (where it had usually been) to Brooklyn. I wonder what role Chirstie "Tick" Furnari had in pushing for Amuso and Casso to helm the family and why Tony Ducks ultimately selected them. This was and still is one of the smaller families, but still, it had a reputation for being stable (pre Casso/Amuso era) and earning ("punching above its weight" so to speak) -- with that sort of legacy, there must have been members more suitable for leadership. Even Vinny, the guy who put too many onions in the sauce would have probably made a better boss:)
It wasn't considered a "smaller family". Ofc the Genovese & the Gambinos are the two biggest however, the Lucchese family had around 150-180 made members which is not considered small. The Bonnanos had around 90-110, the Colombos, 110-130 so they are not considered small in my opinion. They are the five families so they are big in general and you also have to keep in mind that every year or two, every family get to make 10-20 guys depending on their family.
They shouldn’t have become bosses. Corallo made a big mistake. These mob documentaries make me sigh and laugh. The Columbos just killed each other. The Luchesse bosses just killed their own men. The Bonanos got an FBI agent into their family. The Gambino had idiotic bosses due to favoritism after Gambino and ruined the family. The Genovese family is the only family that gets it right!
Gaspipe was by far one of the shittiest mobsters of all time. Just goes to show no one had the balls to step up and do something. Dude should've been dealt with long before.
As Soon as Casso Started to Knock off One after the other Like Lego/Jenga Block's Few Capo's-Solider's/Amuso should have Shelved him/Saw his Eradicate Behavior for what it is, I could see Few Guy's Operating as Covert Informant's (Low Lvl Associates),But they just did it if they had a Dream without no Evidence if Guy had Flipped least get a Cop Paided off for a List of who is & Isn't there was even a Rumor Lucchese Family had a Corrupt Agent on there Pay-Roll not Hard to believe since the Colombo's had the Same in the 3rd War with Greg Scarpa Sr. & His Handler.
Gotti brought his own family down with all the publicity he brought. Then talking about murders all the time on the same apartment all the time which was bugged. Big dumbass
@@ellemathews9840 Did you watch the video? This guy single handedly destroyed the Lucchese family through murder, causing rebellion, causing multiple people to flip. What did Gotti do? Incriminate himself on some wiretaps? Gotti's underboss took apart the Gambino family, first by going after some of their best Capos, killing them, and taking their rackets(like Gaspipe), then when he got caught, testified against dozens of the Gambino captains and soldiers, and even bosses of other families, leading to dozens of immediate convictions.
Fast forward today- Vic Amuso still controls the Lucchese Family behind bars and recently replaced Bronx-based Acting Boss Matthew Madonna with Brooklyn-based Michael DeSantis. Mickey Paradiso is now a part of the Gambino admin.
That life has been on the decline because they started to recruit college educated members who had a better way of thinking and didn't look bad. That was the beginning of the fall of them.

If you choose to be an Achilles, meaning controlled by your emotions, overly ambitious and eager to do anything to live the "good" life... you will be met by an unfortunate end... that could be death or suffering for the rest of your life. You can't just hurt all these people and get away with it... life will come back at you, one way or another...
Didnt Achilles kill Hector??? LOL
Hector died against achillis
Yes but there is Stalin, there is Fidel Castro, there is Mao. From history. Right now, there is Maduro, there is Putin. And there is still a dictator in Cuba, and in China. The 'religious' dictatorship in Iran doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Same with Syria.
You'd like to think that the score gets evened out in that person's lifetime but it doesn't always work out that way. Then again, maybe they had private, immense suffering that they could barely manage, for a very long time. Like hell on earth.
Most of the time, you're right, the score gets evened out in the perp's lifetime. Sometimes slowly. Sometimes quickly.

Casso had completely manipulated Amuso. Amuso wasn't interested in the intricacies of the mob and Casso was a master of it and constantly active. Gaspipe was absolutely a ruthless psychopath but had incredible street smarts.

He probably just died of old age and other diseases. They just liked saying that all deaths were from Covid.
I don't know why I watch all this gangland stuff. But I can't get enough of it! Lol 😋☺️

Salvatore was an associate, he was in the remedial mafia.
Gaspipe and Amuso were the 2 worst bosses in mafia history. Somebody should have clipped them both before they went on the run

Gaspipe even killed the contractor who he hired to build his home because he was afraid he would leak the layout of his house to the FBI so they knew where to plant a bug. He also killed random ppl that his neighbors had disputes with- one of his neighbors went to him because his wife was cheating on him and Gaspipe ordered his wife’s lover be killed. a lot of this documentary is wrong he was on the street and exited out the passenger side, Hydell's pulled up right on top of him and he wasnt able to exit the car as his door was stuck by gases car, and Gas didnt passout he went into the freezer and hide out for awhile before going to the hospital
Justin Lambert how is he your friend?

It was still a very good sauce
It wasn't considered a "smaller family". Ofc the Genovese & the Gambinos are the two biggest however, the Lucchese family had around 150-180 made members which is not considered small. The Bonnanos had around 90-110, the Colombos, 110-130 so they are not considered small in my opinion. They are the five families so they are big in general and you also have to keep in mind that every year or two, every family get to make 10-20 guys depending on their family.
Think you don't know shit. Casso was a MAJOR earner my friend. He even healmed one of the biggest scores crew ever in the US. The bypass gang

They said that the American mafia didn't use bombs. Well they did in the 1970's. I thought they did in the 1980's also.
Yes they used the bomb to make the gambino's think it was members of Paul castellano family that done it. And it worked!!
So noone in Chicago ever used bombs?
Cleveland family loved to use bombs so did Kansas city

Never let the muscle be the brains
John Gotti probably couldn't believe his luck. A hit he sanctioned drove Gas into insanity which in turn snowballed into Gas tearing apart the family.
Gotti brought his own family down with all the publicity he brought. Then talking about murders all the time on the same apartment all the time which was bugged. Big dumbass
John alite says John never got pay back for that. Alite be talking alot shit
Good point
@@ellemathews9840 Did you watch the video? This guy single handedly destroyed the Lucchese family through murder, causing rebellion, causing multiple people to flip.
What did Gotti do? Incriminate himself on some wiretaps? Gotti's underboss took apart the Gambino family, first by going after some of their best Capos, killing them, and taking their rackets(like Gaspipe), then when he got caught, testified against dozens of the Gambino captains and soldiers, and even bosses of other families, leading to dozens of immediate convictions.
Interesting perspective
Dave you hit the bulls eye their everywhere.
As the years went on from the 1920's - 1930's your chances of getting whacked by your boss, best friend or being flipped on got higher and higher as time went on, loyalty and respect has went out the window. Everyone is greedy and wants the throne for themselves. Nobody is happy being a under boss or under. Most of the bosses from the 1980's and after are paranoid and are killing the whole family out of paranoia.
