    Nicky Scarfo was not ever responsible for Angelo Bruno's death. Caponegro was! Get the facts straight. Scarfo became boss after the death of Phil Testa by Pete Casella and Chickie Narducci.

      Nicky Scarfo was not responsible for Bruno's death. But Scarfo and Bruno were feuding close to the Bruno hit. They were feuding over Atlantic City which was Scarfo territory. Bruno once apparently sent an American Irish thug to try and rough up or threaten Scarfo. Scarfo caught wind of this and thought the guy was out to kill him. He relayed a message to the thug threatening to carve up his body and send it to Bruno in several bin bags. He then told Bruno to his face that he'd sever his thug's arm off and deliver it to him. But there's not really much else suggesting that Scarfo was in on the hit let alone knew anything about it. It was known within the family that a lot of the guys were disgruntled with Bruno's ban on drug dealing. The issue was Bruno allowed dealing on his family's territory and kept all the money to himself.

    100% False, when they say Scarffo was behind Bruno's death. Anyone that knows a little bit about LCN , knows that Tony Bananas was behind Bruno's death, but Tony was then killed on orders of Chin Gigante boss of the Genovese family. Killing a boss without Commison approval, is punished by death, and Tony didn't have the approval. he thought he did, but was tripled crossed by Frank Tieri, a close friend of Gigante. It's a long story, But after Bruno, the next boss was Philip Testa, and he too! was murdered, without Commission approval, and later on, those that killed Testa were also killed,. So now enters Scarffo into power, placed there by the Commison, wich was mainly the Genovese family, they had the most force from the other families, at that point.. When you see that drawing of the hand pulling the puppet strings on the Godfather title letters, Well, that's exactly what the Genovese leadership did.. I left out a few little things, but fcck you, it's a long story...

      His quick jaunt off to NYC after the bombing always felt like a power grab to me rather then a set-the-record-straight moment. He took control of Salvi and then used him like a weapon till ultimately having him whacked too. Well, I guess (non-lawyer) the FBI would have to present evidence before a judge that the lawyer's office was being used as a mob meeting place, above and beyond the normal criminal law practice. I believe these were private meetings that did not involve the attorneys. I don't think it's illegal for the the attorney to leave his mob clients in a room alone.

    • @ixxieangel
      @ixxieangel Před rokem +3

      It does technically violate attorney client privilege and may not be admissible in court if these meetings were between the attorney and the client. Any evidence they gained from the wire taps could be ruled forbidden fruit and inadmissible as well unless the FBI could prove they had ample opportunities to gain the evidence without the wire tap in question. If the meetings were in an open public area (not within a private building/office) then there would be no expectation of privacy so overhearing couldn't violate attorney-client privilege. If there was also a third party in the meetings between attorney and client then there would also not be an expectation of privacy or privilege between attorney and client.
      If like Ralphie mentioned that these were mob meetings using the law offices but not official meetings between attorney and client then it would be extremely difficult to attach privilege to just the offices and the information gathered could be admissible at trial.

They feuding over Atlantic City which was under Scarfo's control. It went so far as to have Bruno sent some goons to Atlantic City in an attempt to rough up or threaten Scarfo. @@PlanetNinetyTwo Yep I heard all about those issues in stories from my uncles -- Uncle Angelo & Nicky had a love-hate relationship, & it was Uncle Angelo who more or less banished Nicky to AC as punishment for the Oregon Diner situation (among other things) -- but then they did time together in '71-'73 & kinda patched things up somewhat, but Scarfo continued to have trouble in AC...However as it turned out, once casino gambling was legalized in '79 & things in AC turned around, that led to a whole new set of problems & tensions between them...And it was know throughout Philly & South Jersey that there were a lot of rumblings that Uncle Angelo was too greedy, too old, etc....And the code is that Nicky couldn't have said anything even if he heard things

Scarfo was violent ( but not tough) and rude and any of those young inmates could have beaten him to death. For this reason , he had to stay in protected custody. Joey Merlino was one of the most polite inmates and acted like a human being.
      In all the time I worked around famous gangsters only one was a real tough guy. That was Delecroach, he didn't need a weapon to hurt a guy. The feds will have a snitch housed with a target so that later he can lie in court and say "So and so told me ...." Delecroach tortured and fucked up the snitch. That is why Delecroach was later moved to my unit.

    Scarfo seemed to know all of the inner workings of the mob and the rules and making great connections with the Genovese Family and other NYC families. But he went way too far in his own family where guys that were loyal to him were getting clipped for any little thing. To the point where guys started to think it was only a matter of time until they got "the sign of the gun" for doing next to nothing. The Salvie Testa hit was the beginning of the end. Fear is one thing but guys started to distrust him and despise him for all of these needless hits that weren't justified at all and were no mafia rule was broken. As Phil Leonetti said in an interview "he started killing his own guys".
