- @JamesReeves is at SHOT Show 2024 with Mossberg to discuss two European military contract breacher shotguns that were designed to spces requested by two high-profile European units. There's a Mossberg 590M variant and a simpler, less expensive (and less frills) Shockwave version. Both will be released to the civilian market shortly. Check the video for details.

The "ergo grip" screams SAS and UKSF because of its use on the C8 and LMT guns in inventory.
there are a lot of mil contract breacher shotguns coming out. what are they planning? iran or your own backyard?
@@cagneybillingsley2165a lot of potential places for urban combat nowadays
It has an nsn number defo uk sf
@@stiffchocolate7546 interesting
I’m a simple man, I see smol shotties, I watch 👌
It's a breaching shotgun made for a British SF unit, highly likely the SAS or SBS
@@BasedPatriot-USA But not for the suppressors you're allowed to freely and cheaply have
@@BasedPatriot-USA lmfao
@@BasedPatriot-USA😂😂😂
“I loik to keep this for close ‘ncounahs.”
I figured it was idf since they didn’t want to say it
I actually hope they bring this to market
It's LE only meaning. Law Enforcement has been showing interest in breaching doors lately, I wouldn't get too excited if you're a pro-2A pro-freedom American.
Please tell us about the doors you're taking down
@@MrSwccguyor he can tell you how cool it would be to own and shoot and short barrel shotgun just because it’s meant for breaching doesn’t mean people are willing to buy it for breaching in the market 🤦🏽♂️
4:54 “Optic rail. [Because] you gotta mind your offset when shooting a door hinge [from point blank range].” lol 😂
this is for uk sf they aren't using these just for breaching like Americans
Friggin redcoats
put a m16 carry handle on it
I was thinking a hi lum spot light to blind opposition rather than a laser.
That thing with a thin, flip out stock would be ballin
I'm sure/hope Chisel Machining will be on the case there. They already have a near ready solution.
always appreciate the vendors talking about the engineering behind the design, are those the typical 590M mags?
they look like it
I think so
I played with the tan one and it was very cool. The action is extremely smooth.
Mossberg should seriously consider selling these front ends to people that want to form 1 their own super shorties
I haven't successfully gotten a mag tube to loosen from a Mossy... rumor is it *can* be done.
But 100% agreed.
@@hateferlife it has red locktite , just heat it up a little
My thoughts exactly, SBS's are peak form 1, and this would be a great candidate.
@@publicpersuaders I was only able to get it up to ~300º workable temp in the oven. I'm sure if I had used a torch things would've gone better.
Oh well. After much cursing and brute force I got the mag follower out.
More like an AOW w/a $5 stamp
That safety should work its way into some regular models.
Nah
James could breach *my* door with a kind word...
Only if it’s a back door
Thanks for getting this interview. Well done.
I'd like to see the new safety on a full size 590.
And slide release
I'd agree. I just want some of the new features, like the safety or magazine guide, on a "more legal" shockwave/full-size shotgun. I'm not a fan of the single piece barrel, tho, I feel like a strength of using a shotgun is the adaptability of the platform, and non-swappable chokes doesn't play well with that MO.
@@aaronpaine1053 When you have a barrel that short you don't need different chokes.
@@KaBar762 "on a "more legal" shockwave/full-size shotgun"
I feel like that new safety would only work well on a pistol gripped platform.
WOW...very cool interview and very cool tools of the trade. Awesome.
It sounds like a lot more useful than what PTR is doing by sawing down Mossberg 88s. The breaching choke device is also a good touch since it digs into wood well, I've nicked a good piece of my door once with mine 😂.
It’s a cool development. Although the mag seems excessively big and bulky while only providing two additional rounds over traditional tube feeding.
The mag will probably have comparability with their larger 12ga shotgun mags
It's also faster to reload.
Breachers usually have their mag tubes empty until they are about to breach for safety so this may be better and more efficient
Ok, so the massive nutsack of a mag is bulky. How does it actually impact use as intended?
@@SurmaSampo excellent point. Probably not much of an issue if used as intended (something you won't likely put many rounds through because it's only for breaching doors). As a primary, it would suck because you can't store a lot of these unless you want a jangly duffle bag, and it probably takes a tole shooting a lot of these.
Thanks. Good review.
Mossberg makes these Breacher barrels in 18.5”
Yep, the Thunder Ranch 590 comes with one. I'm guessing Clint Smith wanted it on there for pain compliance.
Mossberg should should sell these receivers
Psa is going to do it for them
This is badass. I’d like one.
Mossberg if you are reading this I was looking for this exact configuration as an aow. The market is there.
Perfect for what I needed it for, thanks.
Such a Great Show !!!!!!!!!!
the pic rail on top would probably have a light on it and the pump/slide would get a vertical grip.
Exactly. A breacher shotgun needs two firm handles/grips
I had an idea for a breacher variant of the Mossberg 590M a few months ago. I had the idea because I'd seen several videos of people who served in the US military bemoaning the replacement of the Mossberg 590 with the M26. A modified 590M seemed like the obvious solution. Little did I know, Mossberg had been working on that exact thing for years. I'm still surprised it wasn't at the request of the US military, though.
in my country guns arent allowed, but james and mr stafford make me really interested in something i cant have
Which country is this?
@@Erik-wm6ee a beta one
Most countries allow some kind if gun ownership. If you let me know your country of origin I might be able to find something cool you can legally own.
@@Erik-wm6ee probably the same country commissioning this shotgun lol
@@tweakingheavilyescape my bro/sis come to America the land of jeeps and clapping cheeks
cool offerings
This is similar to what I'm currently doing to my 590M: I have a 14" front end, Magpul furniture, and I'm planning a ghost ring/red dot set up and getting it threaded for Remchokes.
I would love that safety lever for pistol-grip setups
Gee, my pump shotgun has had a mag since the 80s.
*Laughs in Italian*
but is it double stack....
@@LyleH-13 actually they're unobtainum. Waaay better than a double stack fat boy.
Also, it's not hard to modify saiga mags to go in the Valtro, so I imagine I've got some drummies with a little work.
If that takes the existing 10, 15, 20 rd mags... it raises the bar farther. I like the birdshead version...the magazine frame addition to aid in loading the mag should be on both. That is very nice add.
Love this over the current config
edit: the first one with the different ergonomics
Ive always loved the Ergo grips
Mossberg, put those out for the public, please
That mag though seen less bulky mags straight stack could Cary two for the size of that on mag
I love it! The only thing I'd change is the fore grip. Get rid of the mlok silliness and add a eotech or surefire fore grip light.
Where can I get that fde version
Any idea if the Surefire DSF would work on either of these?
I would buy one! I have the Chainsaw Breacher and love it! Would that pistol grip fit on the Chainsaw?
Can you chose to use the magazine tube too?
I'd like to request all the intro, transitions, and closing music in a Spotify playlist. Thanks
that's a home defense shotgun if I've ever seen one
The Mossbros strike again.
Mossberg FTW!!!!
M-Loc would be handy for a vert grip and then you could add a light if needed.
That's what I was thinking too
So the contract price is around $75k USD each?
On a related note, they missed the opportunity to name it the "Lock Knocker".
Is the barrel shorter than the regular 590M ?
Built
My own out of a Charles daily pistol grip breacher choke tube flashlight etc on it
I love the fencing so much! Finally a pump gun with a detachable magazine 😵😵😵
Need one!
For vertical front grip while putting lights and lasers on side I guess, that’s why mlok
That pistol grip boi would be a welcome addition to my collection. Booty shorts and breacher shotguns is a deadly combo. Isn’t that right, James?
At the range you'd use that, the pic-rail on top would be a good place for a laser/light combo.
I want the mil model safety/release on their other 88s/500s/590s.
This be BUSSIN
These are legal in Canada. Bring em in!!!
Good Bully I liked seeing these.
Super cool stuff.....
Where can I buy it? Thx
These are sick!
If you lose the mags you can't tube load it??
Reminds me of the Crusher shotgun from cyberpunk.
Wrist gone be jello
got a vid on how to "Breach proof a door for home defense"?
That decked out breacher is sick.
Dear TFBTV, if you can would you tell me the make/model of the shirt Jeremy is wearing please? Thank you.
that thang is bad ass
Hopefully they can sell conversion kits for shockwaves. The sling looks nice
Honey! I found the universal key!
The picatinny trail is for the light/laser. Flashlight is extremely important on a breaching shotgun. On a gun that small the only place you can put it is on top of the receiver. If you put it on the barrel it will get in the way against the door. No point in putting sites on such a short shotgun.
Seems like a lot of extra bulk for a tertiary weapons systems. I hope that breacher barrel makes it to the regular 590 though.
Yeah, the gen12 seems like the better option
@@pablojosediablothe gen 12 is short recoil operated, pushing the barrel against a door would take it out of battery.
@@Blaidd7542 i was under the impression the huxwrx suppressor for the gen 12 would serve as a standoff device as well as suppressor. If im wrong about that then id agree with you the gen 12 would NOT be the ideal option.
Are these in Canada yet
i would do the paperwork to get the pistol grip version
This would be a day 1 buy for me if it ever reached civilian markets, fde lookin tasty too
crazy how Mossberg execs played starfield saw the Pacifier and were like "thats a fantastic idea"
Essa semana eu estava pensando que ainda tinha feito esses magazine com muita capacidade
Nice
I question the desire for a box magazine, but their customer knows what they want. My point of reference is a green beret, if the speculation on this being for the _other_ green berets then they have their own proceedures.
How many doors do you really need to breach that you require that much magazine capacity?
My appreciation is that you would only get to breach 3 doors with a full mag and one in the tube if you have to hit 2 hinges, and IIRC, breachers usually have the tube empty for safety reasons until they hit a door. So 2 doors with hinges or 5 for locking mechanisms (door knobs/deadbolts). Not a lot, which is why this makes so much sense.
What a bad ass little shotgun very good work Mossberg thank you for the video. Have a great day.🤘☘️🇺🇸⚡️⚡️
I'd buy the fde one
Still wondering why I cannot buy a new barrel for my 590A1
drool 🤤
BUT
If the magazine hasn't changed, they take 2 3/4" cartridges, and they are vewy _vewy_ picky about the finished shell length they will eat. There is a difference between roll-crimped and star-crimped shells, for example.
So what shotshells are specified? (plz)
Is that considered a short barrel rifle?
AOW right here. I like this thing.
strong flash light on rale
Add A Magpul Stock & Form 1
It Into A SBS & Add A Streamlight TL-RACKER Forearm Light...
Yeah, I dont see these being used in any CQC scenario besides just for breaching.
Best applied as a tool on a squad member.
That is a very cool Breacher with a pistol grip with the AR type of safety selector is a real nice looking weapon that I hope Mossberg makes available for civilians sales . It is nice that the Mossberg is using the same Breacher muzzle device that they use in their other Breacher model which I own the 18.5 inch barrel model.
This is the guy that parks in the handi-cap parking space, ain’t he.
This guy is the Billy Mays of shot show 2024
Want one.
That's very cool, but i want the 3rd verson. I dont wanna pay for a super shorty
Would be cool in a "firearm" config. You could use the mlok to put a foregrip sideways
Want it.
I’d love to know what military they are talking about
Now to make a breacher proof door.
Then you'd need breacher proof walls, and after that, a breacher proof roof😂
I’ll take two.
Im pretty sure that FDE gun can be sold in the US as a non-NFA "Firearm" if a folding brace were added.
I want one
