There are actors on B'way that have to rehearse for months to give recitations that are far less dramatic than Colbert's monologues. It is amazing to see him do these so flawlessly given the few hours since they are written until he delivers them without a hiccup in the comedy timing. Huge campaign donations coming from corporations and foreign interests are "buying" our government, and thus, writing our laws. Both parties are guilty of this.

The only way that will change is when citizens contribute more campaign donations than businesses. Yes, this sounds extremely unlikely - and it currently is - but 50 years ago this was a real choice politicians had to make: Which money to take? Corporations or citizens? They knew that taking from both would upset them both. Sound impossible? I meant it to sound impossible, but it's true. Citizens were represented by unions - and this is why the GOP worked very hard to kill unions and turn the citizens against them.

The Senate vote is not about putting businesses ahead of individuals. It's about protecting individual rights. Ever heard of the Nuremburg Code? There's not one shred of logic behind vaccine mandates. The vaccines do NOT prevent the vaccinated from transmitting or contracting the virus. Why is this so hard to understand? If you want to take the "vaccine," and ad nauseum boosters, that's your choice. Go for it. But it should be obvious to everyone by now that these "vaccines" are not the way out of the pandemic. Countries with highly vaxxed populations have the highest case rates. Countries with low vax rates that have employed early treatment and prevention protocols are doing far, far better.

Of course those take time and since the current vaccine is still quit effective, it is better to give a booster to the most endangered. If big Pharma really wanted to make money, they would forget the vaccines and just focus on the treatments. There is big money in the treatments. The vaccines are much more cost effective.

I don't think I cried laughing harder than Fox News saying that their tree burning was a Hate Crime. I had to pause the video for a good 5 minutes to clear myself up because it was one of the stupidest things I had ever heard... And then it kept getting worst.
My favourite part was the Faux host saying this guy wasn't elegible for bail, but she should have said detention. She would probably associate that word with high school.
I used to hearing stupid things said on Fox. It's just the way Rupert wants Fox to be run. Too many dollars and absolutely no sense.
I don't think it's to the point where it's stupid enough to have to collect yourself. Pretty much all crimes are committed out of hate or at least negativity, stupidity, addiction, or narcissism, etc. You just don't like Fox News using your Hate Crime defense because you have a specific group or groups that that kind of crime can fall under. I would surmise that burning someone's Christmas tree down isn't done out of love. I would keep going but I don't want it to keep getting worst...

It is like a monarchy, with a separate head of state and government, but unlike a monarch, the President is political and cant serve as a apolitical unifying force. It's also rife for abuse, like Putin's Russia.
