They could've sold those bikes to other states, or even countries. Then that money could've been used for important issues. Destroying anything is rediculous, & wasteful.

@@flone9872 exactly, there's a million things that could've been done with them. Many countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, etc these bikes are very popular. Send them to California, Colorado, etc out west. I'm in rural Missouri, & they'd sell quick here. They didn't have to stay in NYC. They could've used the money for a million things. They then turn around, & ask for more money in the budget. Hey dumba$$, the bikes would've paid for that. It just proves cops are dumb, & they'd rather get a shock reaction, than being useful. In Germany, they did a tax reduction for the oil companies. The price went down for about a week, and now it's been pushed even higher. Handing corporations tax breaks does not benefit consumers. They should give money to consumers and place price controls on gas. These companies are making record profits
Price controls also doesn't work in Hungary. Inflation is rapiding than other nearby country.

2,000 bikes crushed? They could have sold each bike out of state for $1,000+ and made $2,000,000+ for their city. Just one company should go against the grain and lower their gas prices. They would still make ridiculous profits but it would win over every American.
Wonderful idea!
I feel like that’s sooooooorta happening around where I live (Baltimore + surrounding) but only on a very small scale. Tho you can def tell which stations are early adopters for price drops and those are my favorites now for sure
That reminds me of a story I heard about a gas station manager who got fired after mistakenly marking the gas prices of his station from $6.70/gal to $0.67/gal for three hours, thus losing the station more that $20,000 in profits that day. He said that for those three hours, he had more customers than he’s ever seen before. Then he started a Go Fund Me to raise enough money to pay the owner back and got the remount repaid back in no time.

I don’t particularly care what adults put in their bodies as long as it isn’t marketed to them falsely- meaning they are given the full rundown of known health effects. Marketing and advertising shapes our culture in undeniably massive ways. We all recognize a jingle or the Golden Arches from MCD. If the issue with juul is that they advertised to children and made false claims etc- and the effort was drummed up as it was, it’s a waste of time if no policy change is made imo. $0.18 cents! What will we do with all the money saved!? 🤣
Eighteen cents is 0.18 of a dollar, not .18 cents.
Ask the adults in charge of your home. They will understand how it adds up.
@Candice Lynn You do not know how decimals work?
Eighteen cents is .18 of one dollar. The reason a cent is so called is that it is 1/100 of one dollar.
To write '.18 cents' is to indicate 1.8 tenths or 18 one hundredths of one cent.
@Candice Lynn This has absolutely nothing to do with 'nuance' and I comprehend fully that you do not understand how simple decimals work.
The OP wrote, _".18 cents! What will we do with all the money saved!?"_
You answered with the following gibberish: _" I'm pretty sure the "1" in front of the ".18" was implied. "1.18" = one dollar and eighteen cents. Ergo, ".18" the way he wrote it was meant to mean "18 cents". That's how I read it, anyway. 🙃"_
There was no ""1" in front of the ".18"" whether implied or otherwise. The OP wrote ".18 cents".
To write .18 dollar or $.18 is to indicate eighteen cents which could also be expressed as eighteen one hundredths of one dollar.
That is why the original one cent coins of 1793 bore the inscription 1/100 and the half cent coins 1/200.
To write .18 cents is to write eighteen one hundredths of one cent which may also be expressed as 1.8 tenths of one cent or $.0018
@Candice Lynn The sign did not read ".87 _cents",_ did it?
"Grownups" know the difference between $.18 and .18 cents. Apparently you do not.

“Sometimes i feel like Americans want to protect the constitution more than they want to protect Americans the constitution is supposed to protect”
The Constitution is a defense against the government from infringing on your natural rights. Yeah, it's definitely worth protecting at all costs.
@@Armadan7 Well, if the government presents the only (or at least dominant) danger for its citizens, then you are fully right. I had some idiotic notion that the constitution represents a set of basic rules and principles a group of people wants to follow in order for society to function normally. Now it turns out to be a defence contract.
Especially the sacred 2nd Amendment. That's why when it comes to gun issues, America will never be able to deal with it effectively. Because they're trying their hardest to work "around the guns" instead of on the guns itself.
@@Armadan7 way to complete miss the point of the statement, believe it or not though goverment is the least of our worries in this country right now. most people cant afford medication, food, or gas and companies are seeing record profits, do you really think thats a coincidence? do you really think nothing needs to change? or are you so brainwashed that you think this is normal?
@@sagehogan6680 who do you think allowed inflation to get so bad? The government actors who are in the pocket of the debt holding companies. If the mayor had used his brains, what about selling the bikes.
Please do segment on the recent supreme court vote that taxpayers have to pay for private religious schools with our tax money separation of church and state is disappearing
That may backfire. There's a similar law in Britain (because the church of England is part of the state and it runs schools, other faiths must be treated equally). In short, we need some Islamic schools to receive state funds on the same basis.
One little thing happens and everyone runs in circles yelling that their entire way of life is disintegrating. Both sides of the political wahoo do this, I swear. If the money can be used at other private schools, it’s unjust to say it can’t be used at religious schools. If the money can’t be used at any private schools, then that should include religious private schools. It’s not about religion until someone makes it about religion. If the law said the money could go to private schools but not religious schools, that discrimination.
@@BeeWhistler exactly, and that’s the principle difference between public and private schools: funding. Thus it’s unconstitutional. We aren’t the UK, but the church in the USA wishes they had the power like those in the UK and have been funding tons of politicians hoping for this exact type of sway in legislation.
Yeah it's terrifying but people are finally waking up
If a church takes government money, that church should be forced to pay all federal, state, and local taxes as well.
Still 18 yrs old?? They can’t legally drink but can buy a gun?
Well… then the age for enlisting would have to change as well. (I’m not arguing btw- just my two cents as to why they won’t make that change. Or maybe eventually they will make it so you can only buy a gun at 18 if you enlist- I’m sure the recruiters would love a fresh selling point to push to 16 year olds in high school cafeterias)
@@mikalin9286 this argument has been knocked down by veterans from every single branch of the military. To start: we have an all-volunteer military, as there’s no more draft where we shove weapons of war into the arms of unprepared kids. Then they have to go through basic training. Then on base, even after training and years of experience, they’re not allowed to carry their own weapons. They are taught proper gun safety and storage, and are dinged for it when they make mistakes. Because mistakes are the last thing you want in a real fight.
