    2015 Q50 Premium AWD owner here. Got some beefy 19 inch wheels installed and have some rubbing when hitting bumps and what not with stock suspension. I know these coilovers can lower your vehicle but can it be adjusted to stay at factory height? Im just worried there will be the same amount or more rubbing if I get these installed at the lowered ride height. Do/Did you experience any rubbing with your tires after the coilover install?
    And before you ask, yes, I already have a fender roller tool on the way to get the fenders rolled haha. Thanks for your videos man!!

    • @SpeedCultureStudios
      @SpeedCultureStudios  Před 2 lety +3

      I believe I mentioned this in the video-or maybe it was cut out lol-but you cannot get it to factory ride height with these. You’ll get some natural negative camber when lowering so that might help a little bit adjustable control arms are best bet

    • @SpeedCultureStudios
      @SpeedCultureStudios  Před rokem

      If you’re into pushing the car or you like to be able to make adjustments and try new settings then it’s worth going coils especially considering the age of the suspension. But if you’re not too worried about it and you’re going for a little more nimble feel and nice stance, then a good set of springs is fine.

    • @noluck8613
      @noluck8613 Před rokem

      These without stressing them should last about 35k miles
      Cheaper than this would be about 15k miles or less
      Lowering spring definitely last longer, but won’t give you a stiff ride, just the aesthetic of your car being low

    Sounds like the solution to alot of the issues you have had eith the BC Coilovers may be able to be solved with rhe DS series or even just a swiss spring upgrade. The BR series arent really meant to be driven hard on consistently, being a street biased coilover as opposed being a track or track/street oriented.

    • @SpeedCultureStudios
      @SpeedCultureStudios  Před 2 lety

      That’s right. I did mention that there are variations that are more track oriented, however I did not discuss some of the feedback I’ve received which is that they aren’t all that much better on track than the BR and that if you really do regular track driving a more advanced Coilover is probably the best bet.

    Pretty sure Godspeed and Megan racing coilovers are the same and are made by bc. Bc is known to private label and it just so happens that those 2 companies are manufactured in the same country as bc and have almost identical features to each other except one is blue and one is pink. I could be wrong but if bc is private labeling, someone has to be doing it through them 🤷🏽‍♂️

      I don’t know if I’d do 20k on a daily honestly. If it wasn’t a commuter I’d consider 18k. Really pleased with ride quality overall just surprised they sag like they do, especially in the rear. I’m actually going to do some experimenting with preload as well. I think they could use a bit more than what is instructed, which may also help.

      @verefiedxL Před rokem +2

      @@SpeedCultureStudios I’m suspicious the root of all my dampers blowing out in less than a year has to do with spring preload. I remember when taking all the advice from everywhere (including BC) that you just need to tighten it a few mm (“when the spanner fits between the perches blah blah”), I was extremely skeptical of it. You think that has anything to do with the stress on the dampers (regardless of settings)?

      With a proper alignment, you shouldn't have any unusual tire wear. If you run a specific alignment setting that falls outside of factory spec, you might notice some faster wear, but I don't associate that specifically to coilovers.

  • @jeremymccullough-eu1uh

    You stated you'll give up ride quality. That's indicative of a BC coil. Silvers did not give up ride quality. More planted ride without harshness.
