    • @XiaoPangZi
      @XiaoPangZi Před 2 měsíci

I agree, however the reason why european nations don’t buy european military arms is because they simply don’t trust Europe. Take Poland as a best example, in a war with Russia they have to count on always getting more guns, repair supplies, ammunition, etc. Both Germany and France tried to make Ukraine give up in the start of the battle (not openly but it has been revealed they did). Germany (and EU) got dependent on Russian gas. Germany only wanted to send helmets to Ukraine, only relenting after being pressured by other wester nations. In a war Poland can never find themselves in a similar situation, so instead they buy US military gear.
On top of that like Russia can threaten smaller nations like Sweden if they supply military supplies to a nation they are in war with, but they can never threaten USA.
On top of all this a nation like SKorea can just supply military gear cheaper and much quicker than European nations, to buy the tanks or artillery from western nations would take many many more years than buying from SKorea. European military industry is just too small.
So while I agree that we need to buy our own military stuff, it’s also legit reasons why nations don’t. And European military producers only has themselves to blame. But we can change, and we should change. We need to stop fearing military, and realize it’s what makes democracy and freedom possible.

      1) France has the army they needed and still has more real soldiers ( with combat experience) than any current EU country.
      2) FR is the only EU country which makes its weapons and uses them. Moreover Fr is still present in many parts of the 🌍 globe, FR can't give away all its weapons like Denmark because it will be than naked. What the point to be the strongest EU army and been unable to defend itself in case of new troubles emerge.
      3) FR uses what it manufactures, as they are no real EU military joined industry ( everybody is buying American/ for protection guarantee) the quantities are small. FR can't give them away, it will take her a decade to replace them. FR can't be naked meanwhile.
      4) As mentioned above FR to be independent, produces most of its stuffs in little quantities because of a lack of EU market .SO all the weapons systems are french+/- , so FR can't give them away like that. It is easy to give away old soviet stuffs, and be paid by EU to buy new US weapons. If FR drops its stuffs, gets the money, FR will have to produce the replacement because FR DOESN'T BUY FULL US STUFFS.
      5) In this video, the guys mention "Billions giveaway" as if it was cupcakes😂. First, all countries are not in the same economical state, and giving more could have massive consequences in FR and empower oppositions ( far right and far left are supporting Putin in FR). GER can give more they are the 3rd economy in the world and has some kinda responsibility in this mess ( RUSSIA CHINA BUSINESS DEPENDENCY). Poland gives a lot, well it's economy is in a better shape than the French one and less debts. Plus Poland is directly involved in the matter. If Poland was located in Portugal, I'm not so sure Poles would give that much ( just saying😊).
      6) The only real & effective solution since the beginning is to generate Euro bonds for EU defense industries and to guarantee the orders for the manufacturers but since so far GER is not so keen on that, that why we are falling into this stupid contest of who gives what.

Pol produces less wealth, but has been growing fast for the last 2 decades with higher growth rates. And Pol has a lower debt level and a lower debt burden. The military surge that Russia has been enjoying since last year has not been due only to the lack of ammunition for Ukraine, but also by the supply of North Korean artillery shells to Russian troops. The country of Kim Jong Un have huge stockpiles of those shells. They can probably continue their deliveries at a high level for months, but probably not for years. Which has been clearly visible over the last 20 years. Poland and many other countries warned Germany and France about the threat. However, business with Russia was the most important thing. It was France and Germany that blocked Ukraine and Georgia from joining NATO.
It was Germany, despite warnings, that built gas pipelines under the Baltic Sea despite the clear opposition of Central Europe. This is nothing more than the arrogant attitude of the political and business elites towards the countries of Central Europe.

BUT, there is a catch - the 1,5 billion € was for 300.000 shells only, that means for the remaining 500.000 additional money needs to be collected...
In total, it should be around 6 billion €, as it contains the exact opposite of what you've said, namely 500.000 NATO standard 155mm shells and 300.000 152mm Soviet shells (really 152mm, not the mentioned 122mm)..
The first delivery of the 300.000 is mixed from 155mm and 152mm and it should be in Ukraine in 2 weeks.
And btw., no South Africa, Turkey or South Korea, but Philipines is the seller, as they have both the 155mm and 152mm ammo - they don't wan to be disclosed because of their troubles with China, but there is the Philipines presidents visit to Prague next week to sign the deal...

Americans have a problem with understanding Europe and its because of the English language.
      "Europe" is not one place.
We speak of 'the Americas' (plural). Which separates south, central and north America.
But 'Europe' is taken to be just one place. A singular name. So it must be just one place .... no, its not.
What if there was no difference between north, central and south America on maps.
We just have one big continental area called 'America'. From Canada to Argentina.
One day Brazil has a war with Chile, and we say 'what is the US doing' about this war? ...this war is an American problem, for Americans.
After all people in the US are Americans, Brazilians and Chileans are Americans, so its the US's responsibility.
      They're all Americans after all.
America is one place. From Canada down to Argentina. One continent.
Im in the EU, Im commonly referred to as a European.
People in parts of Turkey and Russia are also living in continental Europe, they're not referred to as Europeans.
Ukraine is in continental Europe, but are they called Europeans?.... they're not in the EU. UK was in the EU, now its not. Are they considered the same as EU Europeans?
There are ambiguous terms used when speaking about "Europe" and Europeans. And I see Americans come to some logical conclusions about who's responsible for what. But the same logic is based on false assumptions.
The EU wasn't part of the Budapest memorandum. US was. And UK.
A European in Portugal, Denmark, etc doesn't have the same legal obligations to Ukraine which Americans (US) have.
Not just because 'oh Ukraine is part of "Europe" '.
By that same logic of responsibility based on the name of your continent Washington is to blame for the Mexican cartels because Mexicans are continentally considered 'Americans'.
We in the EU (and UK) do have a responsibility to Ukraine, but its not because 'oh Ukraine is under the category of "Europe" '.

How many Abrams tanks did the Americans send to Ukraine, in what conditon and how long did it take to make the decision and get them delivered?
The UK and France delivered cruise missiles to Ukraine (seemingly with crews) and what did Washington do?
Did the US commit any F-16s to Ukraine?
So far, Washington is happy to press the Europeans into escalating the conflict and their involvement, while cheering them on from the sidelines. Biden has categorically rejected the idea of US boots in Ukraine. Dying and fighting would be a purely European thing.

Not high end systems. The 18 Leo-2 tanks were an exception. It took a year of discussions before sent to Ukraine. Everything delayed, . Or partially delivered. And last but not least: Germany counts not only what was delivered but also what they intent to deliver. For starters, it is true that Germany sends much of the basics like hundreds of transport vehicles and trucks and other basic military equipment for combat and logistics operations. I wouldn't downplay this component of the military aid as it is non the less an essential part of any military operation.
Secondly, I don't necessarily agree with your statement that Germany does not send high end systems apart form Leo 2...
Do MARS II, IRIS-T, Patriot batteries and radars, Stinger missiles, PHZ 2000, Biber Bridge layers, Vector reconnaissance drones, drone jammers, Skynex air defense system etc also count as "not high end"...?
Quote: _"And last but not least: Germany counts not only what was delivered but also what they intent to deliver."_
This is irrelevant, every government does this. That is why we have independent organizations like IFW that do a detailed book keeping of the military aid delivered. And from organizations like IFW we know that the Germans contribution was more than just promises.

Avdiivka was one of their more fortified positions and we have had countless statements saying that positions further behind are not at all fortified as they should be. So it's not like they're retreating to better positions.
If the losses were so few they also wouldn't have to be throwing just about all their reserves to hold back Russians including sacrificing the Abrams that they treasured and were holding back for future offense.
It's unlikely many positions will give them better than a 10:1 ratio. So they should have probably spent their man power counter attacking and retaking positions.
Or or maybe the ratio wasn't ever that wide? I recall how much people used to say "In Bakhmut we have such a massive advantage 5:1" but somehow we're supposed to imagine in here they were doing twice as good?
Now all we hear about Bakhmut is how Ukraine over committed and spent too nany resources there. That the reason the counter offensive failed was to lack of power and Bakhmut was to blame. You have to recognize that there are evil forces in this world that are not for peace. That there are aggressive forces, and unless you stop these aggressive forces, you are not going to have real peace.
You have to recognize that if you, in the name of peace, roll over in front of an aggressor. This may ensure peace maybe not in your time but our time, but it ensures war at a later time.
The Munich agreement is the prime example. I was always against appeasement, not because I was for war. But because I was for peace for a generation for a century rather than peace in my own time."

That is 5,000 per day are allowed to enter. Imagine if U.K. or France had 5,000 migrants enter a day. That's allowing over 1.75 million illegal crossings per year friends.

Considering USA isn't even present anymore?
Yeah I think we can say Europe is taking the lead.
Europe has a huge advantage in the form of being decentralized, when 51% of politicians in USA don't want to send more aid then no more aid is sent from USA, when 51% of politicians in Europe don't want to send more aid then Ukraine is still getting 49% of the aid.
But other than that, far more people and politicians in Europe are for aid anyway.
Europe will not stop helping Ukraine any time soon and is already locked on a path to much higher military production than Europe needs for itself, Ukraine will keep getting more munitions and at an increasing rate which will overtake Russias own production(if it hasn't already) with a rapidly expanding gap as the years continue.
While USA has abandoned Ukraine and Europe the rest of the West is firmly behind Ukraine, USA is not needed for Ukraine to win, but I hope that USA understands that Europe wont feel any obligation to help in a war in the pacific after this.
USA using its allies for its own expeditions to the sandbox for decades and then bailing from only sending material after less than 2 years the first time it was Europe asking for aid is really disappointing.

Unlike Europe, the US has to focus on multiple theatres of war halfway across the globe. Yet they just complain about what we do with our own money, despite all we've done for them throughout the cold war, post-cold war, and not to mention deterrence, etc. over the years. NATO societies fear NATO stepping in Ukraine...
It should have been done in 2014. Russia said those were not their troops so what would have been the issue ? All this tragedy would have been avoided. Hell, even a few divisions in Ukraine for " exercises " after the anexation would have been enough.
But no, appeasing tirants it is. When will people learn ? And now, not even proper miltiary support ( forget about intervention ) after two years from the wealthiest nations on the planet. Utterly umbarassing.
Like you said my polish friend, unwavering support from east NATO members is most likely what pulled everyhing into the right direction. I still think without it in the initial stages, Ukraine would have been thrown under the bus by weaker leaders from NATO.

That is quite a lot of negative talk about Germany and how Macron is filling the shoes of USA, very weird take as well when you follow it by pointing out how much more Germany has been showing with its actions.
Despite how undetermined Germany speaks and its weird reluctance on some niche cases it is definitely leading more than France when it comes to actions, though as you say Eastern and Northern Europe leads even more.
Germany doing far more than France also happens in a space where it is Germany that has been hurt most by sanctions and the gas situation out of all European countries, it is providing a substantial amount of aid despite also having to have subsidized its own energy market and industry by several hundred billion Euros as a direct consequence for having sided with Ukraine.
Also strange to single out Europe as being slow when you then present numbers showing that it has been increasing production of artillery shells at a faster pace than USA, definitely faster than Russia as well. Europe lacked stockpiles, that is the only reason there is a perception it is moving slowly, it is in fact moving faster and did move faster since the start than both USA and Russia.
Europe might be called slow but also definitely going at a determined pace towards peak production far higher than Russia, when you look at what Europe is actually doing instead of the surface level politics and sowing of doubt it is clear Europe is going for an Ukrainian victory and always has so.
