Yea $200 where in hell did you find it for that
It’s $329 at academy
@@alphawolf-cu6pl yea that’s about right!!
@@alphawolf-cu6pl thanks for the video!! I will pick one up soon
After trying a .22, .380, and 9mm and doing a ridiculous amount of research, I just bought my first gun at the tender young age of 76 - a TX22. I got it solely for home defense with no intention of carrying. I paid $280 online and recently saw the same gun in a local shop for $400. After a few lessons at the range, I'm sure I made a wise decision.
Do you have arthritis issues? My father does and his 9mm I too much for him thinking of getting him something better than the old .22 huntsman he keeps in a drawer

Anyone who REALLY knows their guns, KNOWS that a 22 CAN & WILL take someone down. Close range whether its a 9mm or 22, if you shoot off 4-5 rounds of the 22, it WILL take them down.
Love mine so much, I purchased a second.
Ammo quality can be an issue, especially when you get a few hundred rounds in.
Bore brush her well, or your accuracy deteriorates quite a bit. Bolt face gets powdered/waxed up as well. A little maintenance goes a long way.
Great for accuracy @ 30 feet up to around 4-500 rounds. Good after that.
Put over 10,000 rounds through my first, and around 5000 through my second.
Only have issues when I get to the above stated threshold.
Note-if you are in stale air (no breeze), the 'gunsmoke' will affect your accuracy..as with all shooting.
At around $.06 a round, you can't beat the economic value for training.
Excellent trainer, would trust as a daily carry as well.
I have always had a passion for 22. First rifle just so happened to be the first thing i ever fixed. Winchester model 250 dad bought at a tire shop in 63. The takedown pin had broke in the middle of the trigger linkage causing it to go off unexpectedly on my dad. He had taken it to a gunsmith in town and the guy kept it a week, returned it and told my dad the trigger sear was bad. Curious 8 year old me tore it apart one day and found the first thing in dissassembly was broken. Checked the rest out, all else was good to go. Made another pin out of a piece of dowel rod until dad machined me a nice solid stainless one. After that it was my rifle and i commensed to wear it out. 2 bricks of thunderbolts a week dang consistently from the age of 8-16. Come to find out you can still get parts for those unlike what the lazy lying “gunsmith “ told us. Im currently on the 3rd takedown pin, 3rd firing pin, 2nd extractor, and second lock up mechanism. I slowed down shooting alot as an adult because time constraints and other obligations, but i still love it. Hands down my favoritest firearm ever. I still drag it out and plink in the back yard with it every time im home at 42 years old. Having gotten robbed right at the beginning of the pandemic, the bastards took my entire arsenal and my safe, but fortunately left my winchester 22, my grandads 410, and the mossberg maverick that would have been waiting for their punk asses had I been home. Anyhow there for a couple years only thing i had and had much ammo for was my old trusty 22. It reignited that love of such a simple effective firearm. I might have went a bit overboard on 22 buildings my arsenal back. The Taurus tx 22 is definitely one i picked up and haven’t regretted. I daily carry a ruger lcp in 22 and feel more than adequately armed with it in my pocket loaded with 11 round of federal punch. It is hard to beat the underrated, underestimated 22lr.
Good, concise review. I've had two of these for a couple of years and they are so much fun. I get out with friends and family for training, and the low cost of ammo is a big plus. Can't beat CCI ammo for these imho.
I love mine. It shoots great.
Thanks for the review.
It's recently upgraded to have a red dot mount and threaded barrel as standard now.
It's an even better package now than it was when it was released
Good review thanks
my buddy and I picked these up about 2 years ago. We stopped counting at 6k rounds each , over 400 reloading of the magazines, no issues, accuracy is amazing, great training. I purposely did not clean mine waiting until see the round count before the first failure to feed or eject. Well, about 2k rounds of plated HV I had a failure to fully feed. Toothbrush bolt face, solvent patch feed ramp and chamber, two minutes later I continued my range day! We average about 300 rounds a month or more, so, I may have over 7k rounds thru it now. Great Video, fits in the Glock holsters , trigger and grip helps transition to Glock or small frame Sig 250/320.
Does it really fit G19 holsters?
@@DTWCT Hey, I have a Don Hume JIT holster, which I now use exclusively for all my carry. Been using them for off duty then ccw since about 2005? I also have the GLOCK polymer holster , that funny looking cheap looking thing that you cut the tabs out of to match your carry style and belt width; no retention strap, almost snaps in. It Really works. SO, when we first got the tx22's I happened to have a JIT and wearing my Glock polymer holster , ccw with my g23. Just for convenience I inserted the tx22 in both. Practicing draw and fire. Yup, fits great, no wobble, no snagging etc. I gifted my JIT to my shooting buddy and later got him the JIT for his birthday!
Is the TX22 ammo picky? I have a ton of Walmart Automatch and Goldenbullets...thanks.
Since the automatch is not standard velocity, right? should function just fine. We just push a small solvent amount thru the bore once in a while , brush the bolt face and the extractor. and make sure the feed ramp and chamber are pretty clean then we go for another 1500-2k rounds. We guestimated we have 8k rounds thru ours since yesterday of 100 rounds.@@AzPauly
we honestly don't clean until an extraction or feed issue arises, after maybe 1500 rounds, quick clean er upper and off we go, easily done at the range! We dont even disassemble, don't have to!
I'll take cheap & fun over cool though. Haha
I agree about some people's safety.
Mine would get extreme lead fouling with Winchester Western. Changed it to CCI and now runs perfectly.
I own the TX22 and an additional TX22 Competition slide and love it/them. I have never seen it for $200.00 though.
Where are you finding this for $200? Everywhere I see it, it's minimum $300
Bidenomics doing its thing!
Academy sports
Mine was 299
Just left the gun shop bought a new shotgun then I asked to check out some other firearms when I picked this up I was like Holly crap I love how this feels and it was super light
your videos are improving... don't forget us small guys when you get big
I am waiting for the TX 22 Lr compact. I have not seen it at Academy yet.
Finally got one. $250. Fifty dollars off. Sale at Scheels in Iowa. Wanted one for 2 years. My new boss who is a veteran and ex policeman said he put about 1000 rounds through his. No hiccups. I also purchased a Galloway Precision stainless steel guide rod and spring. Have not shot it yet.
Its a great gun and wont break the bank buying or shooting it. Those who knock the .22lr for stopping power are just Internet Tough Guys. I promise you if you get shot center mass with a .22lr round from pistol-fighting range, it will be the worst day of your life -- if you live to tell about it. Folks talk about .22lr like its a damn airsoft round. The Va Tech mass murderer put half his victims down with a Walther P22. If you can shoot a .22lr on target and do so effectively more than other calibers, you should shoot the .22lr for self defense. A 22.lr on target beats a .45ACP that misses or scrapes.
Agree. The human body by design only comes with so many holes at birth, adding more by way of lead from any caliber isn't advisable. We all understand the argument of bigger, better, faster but accuracy > caliber and this little round can still very much ruin a bad guys day.
swear people have no idea what they’re doing when they edc pistols bigger than 9mm.
Nice work Elliott👍 thanks.
The TX22 grip angle looks very similar to CZ grip angle. That would be awesome for training purposes.
I love mine
More expensive in stores * still not too bad
I have the compact version.
In my country it's almost 3X price.. but I'm gonna buy it anyway.. Philippines has a pricey imports.. hope we can buy some accessories and suppressor's as well.. in here it's not impossible if you'll wait 5-10 years 😅😅
Like your review and direct explanation of the pistol but my only question is you mention a few times “cost “ where is it for $200 I have one and it was over $200 like little over $300 and others maybe wonder as well so be sure of cost or where to get for what you say $200?. But thanks for good review.
Rual king $229
Sportsman's Warehouse
Where did you find it for $200?
Following
I definitely payed $300 for mine
He said around $200. You know like $300 is kinda near $200
250 is about as cheap as it gets. Family friendly firearms has one for 249.99 plus 19.99 shipping. Then ffl fee. My lgs had one for 325 and that was close enough for me.
They could be had for around $200 years ago…but not anymore.
$288 here in florida for the none safety od green splatter 😊
Cant wait for the weekend! 🐿 - - - 🔫 pew pew...oh wait there made here 😂😉😝🤫
I dead accurate with my 22
I had 1 --- traded it ---- took the barrel out and the rifling was EXTREMELY BAD ---- almost nonexistant on one side and ~4 times as thick on the other side ----- no wonder I couldn't hit shit (broad side of a barn) with it ----- point of impact was horribly different each shot. I'll never buy another unless I can check the rifling out before I buy! Guess I just got a BAD/LEMON TX22
Should have contacted them they have pretty dang good customer service.
These cost about €850 ($930) in Ireland
$200? 🤔 The Lord knows when we lie Elliott
Check out tandemized TX22's, oof

Where did you find it for $200
Probably more expensive nowadays
Sportsman's Warehouse
I gave 350
Think this is a good truck gun. Like I carry a 9mm but this would be perfect for me to like shoot snakes while fishing, weedeating cutting grass. Keeps my nicer carry gun cleaner lol and like this guy said it’s fun to shoot
Why the hell do you need to shoot snakes?!😂 do you eat them or something?
@@Respect.The.Grind.. water moccasins and rattle snakes where I live are deadly. Fishing and stuff or they’re in your yard you shoot them. I’m from the south man we try to hit snakes crossing the road. They’re everywhere. Only good ones are king snakes
@@ghilliemanreviews they’re all good snakes bro, they’re a part of the ecosystem. If you have time to pull your gun out and aim , you have time to walk away and leave it alone. I get it if one is in your yard or something. But I fish along side rattlesnakes all the time in central oregon. Never bother me. It’s not like they’re gonna chase ya down and come at you.
I just bought this for 296 bucks..
22's are more cool lol. I just got 1k rounds for $60. Im a have fun next week
I paid $310
And, I don't think you can find any pistol, in any caliber, for $200. Maybe hi point. Please don't assume.
oi hi is chain
:3
Yeah, I've been trying to find that. Gun for 200 hundred dollars and it's not happening. .
Have1,, 2 mags split down the back,, Taurus will not warranty them,, less than a year old! Love the gun,, Hate their customer service!
340$ for mine
They are $299.99 ! No where you can find one for $200.00 gotta get story right if you going to do a video.. I just bought one today..
THE NEW COMPACT IS NICER
$200 hmm $299 for mine
He is dry firing a 22 that gun is going to be messed up 22s are rimfire guns not center fire so it’s going to mess up his firing pin
Not this gun. Taurus specifically says you can dry fire it all you want.
So your not going to shoot it
200 😂 lol
Lol @ 200$😂🤣 its 300+
Just got one from Sportsman’s Supply for $249
@@williamcarter1381 i picked up mine at academy for 279$ plus tax… but its currently selling for 329$ in the same fde color
@Petr Was Robbed whatever price you can pick it up for… under 300$ is fair, the gun shoots great i took it out this weekend and performed flawlessly. Very accurate, very reliable.
It was $197 at buds guns this morning, for very short time.

One of the things I don't like is reviewers not reviewing their own content and leaving mistakes in the vid without an edit. @3:19 you meant mag release, not safety. Also, never have I seen a 200 tx22. You must live in magic rainbow land where they grow on trees.
Lol sorry dad I’ll do better next time
Dude… did he not correct himself though? Okay Karen🥱😂
Do you have Law Enforcement or Military background?
why would you shoot a possum? rats rabbits pests I can understand but opossums to more good than bad.
Possums are harmless
They are 280 now lol and don't sell your land to bill gates! Save a farm delete bill😂
More like $300ish
Dude what are you wearing ?
It was a old bird hunting shirt.
Wermaht uniform

Question: Other than the obvious fact that you have a lot of money to spend on guns and gear, what actual experience do you have that makes you such the expert on weapons reviews? Just curious is all.
