    Okay so I’m gonna show you guys my absolute favourite way of cooking dumplings. The extremely thin batter will reduce into a crispy savoury base that adds crunch and flavour to dumplings regardless of the filling of the dumpling. This method works for both frozen and fresh dumplings the only thing to think about is the cooking time and how much of the batter to use, these depend on the size of the pan and how dense the dumplings are.
    Batter recipe:
    200g cold water
    1 tbsp cooking oil
    1 tbsp corn starch
    1 1/2 tbsp all purpose flour
    1 tsp chicken bouillon (or 1/2 tsp salt)
    Mix all the ingredients together. Boom! Batter is done.
    To cook the dumplings:
    Pan fry the fresh or frozen dumplings (okay to cook frozen, no need to thaw) with neutral oil (1 tbsp) for 2 min to get some browning on the base. Pour in the batter (for fresh dumplings I used 3/4 of the total batter, for frozen use all). Cover the pan with a lid and cook on medium-low for 10min (15-18min for frozen). Uncover the lid and let the liquid cook out (approx another 8-10min).
    Release the edges of the crepe from the pan and using a fish slice get underneath to release the entire thing. Flip the dumplings over onto your serving plate. ENJOY! ✨
