- Most of us, for all our daydreaming and late night Forza binges, will never know the feeling of being really, really fast. Let alone being hired to be fast. This is an honor typically reserved for racecar drivers.
But as our friend Kyle Marcelli explains, being a wheelman for a professional sports car racing team is harder than he makes it look. Like so many things, racing has come to revolve around the bottom line. And in a country where interest in motorsports ranks far below our national fascination with inflatable balls, the bottom line is more significant than ever.
Despite this, Kyle has spent the last decade-and-a-half of his life making racecar driving work, and as such, has some interesting insight into the process. We hope you enjoy.

A huge "thank you" to Kyle, Graeme, and all the R. Ferri guys for having us out to shoot. You guys made our first time filming a Prancing Horse totally unforgettable.

Hope you guys enjoyed this little snapshot! Let us know if you'd be interested in seeing more driver/racecar type features, cuz we'd certainly like to do them.
Gears and Gasoline , sorry we missed you guys. My son and I were in the Ferri garage late on Saturday night. nothing beats watching your six-year-old son climb into a an expensive Ferrari and putting a smile on everyone's face. We will be back at VIR this weekend for the HSR races, camping in the Hog Pen hopefully. :)
excellent video and keep up the good work.
Jerrad Campbell Stuff like that is why I think racing is healthy. If a track-prepped Ferrari can't get kids into cars, then nothing can.
racing is the most interesting kind of video you can make, you should make more more more of them!
Definitely yes!
Gears and Gasoline yes more plz
Since I am getting more and more into the car world I start to appreciate all the work you put in these videos more and more.
If you're interested in racing, I also recommend you to get into the world of GT3 racing.
Will check it out for sure. But two wheels still better than four for me ;)
Same for GTWorld, NismoTV and GTHub's discord ;)
IF u really want to get into car world, u should visit r/cars on reddit..
Krristos dude u like bikes better then car wow 😂
I think anyone would agree that this channel deserves 500k+ subs. The work and time into these videos needs to be noticed.
They have 500k now! 🙂
Now a strong 894k!!
And just when I thought that the production value of this channel couldn't go any higher, it does. Fantastic work as always, getting goosebumps !
Thank you! We'll try to keep the goose bumps coming!
these videos are art
You're too kind :)
i like how y'all go from wrenching on clapped out subarus to making visual art about motorsports
This is amazing the quality is getting better and better every time
The Matt Farah vid is what got me to to see your content for the first time, but this video made me subscribe. The editing really brings the stress level of being a race car driver to the surface even with him speaking so calmly about it. Really amazing job. Looking forward to more of your guys work!
This is where you guys shine, the story of the people and their connections with the car. Fantastic stuff as always
Can't believe you guys are at 72k subs now, I've been around since 800 subs. Great work guys, the quality just keeps getting better and better
Great video. Love the presentation and editing. Kyle is very good on camera and gives some awesome info for would-be racers. Thanks for posting!
Like Kyle said, being good on camera is important to being successful in the sport, and he's excellent at it.
Been subscribed to the channel since the XMas RX7 video... Wow, have you guys grown. Beautiful production quality, especially the cockpit shot at 3:40. Looks like something out of a Grand-Tour-like show. Keep going higher guys.
your video quality has progressed so much that you are better than some professional film companies. I find it amazing that you guys can produce such a fantastic quality of video in the short amount of time you have been on youtube. Keep up the good work and we will keep watching!
The quality of your work is top notch. Nice job guys!
I gotta track at VIR one of these days! Crazy video as usual dudes!
Damn this is a good video. Production quality is up there with the best. Subscribed
Awesome video! Super cool to see because my grandpa drove this team and these cars around to the different tracks in the big Ferrari transport!
Your videos are fantastic. All the detail is a breath of fresh air after watching all these car vloggers. Incredible job. Keep up the great work.
RMAuto I do not know who in their right minds think vlogs are cool. they're not. u just need a camera and shitty editing to be a vlogger (albeit not a successful one). This however is truly sensational and the multitude of different shots are super nice.
Great video as always
Really nice video. well put together. Beautiful shots
That was awesome, I'd love to see more features like this
This is great. you guys rock
keep up the good work guys!
I love that track. Good video!
Fantastic video. I love that the driver being interviewed is so candid about the realities of racing career.
Kyle is a really genuine, awesome guy. I've had the chance to talk to him on numerous occasions and he's been nothing short of kind and helpful. His attitude alone could take him very far, and I certainly hope it does.
1:05 scared the shit outta me 😂
Excellent video!
Great racing footage!
Great video guys! After seeing this I now really respect that 488! Wow what a car! What Kyle said at 7:27, "...persistence, it's a never give up attitude". That's inspirational, and I hope you guys do the same because the quality of work you put into this channel is fantastic! Keep up the great work! Also are you guys going to be Carlisle this weekend coming up?
No Carlisle for us this weekend. We'll be filming at Springfest in VA Beach.
Gears and Gasoline Oh nice! Have fun out there!
This is so well made
What an amazing video.
I love this channel
I love this comment
Absolutely beautiful
Máquina! just perfect 👌
It's a shame that the championship regulations limit the power of cars, an example is that the Ferrari 488 Challenge has 110hps more than the Ferrari 488 GT3. Because the Challenge category of Ferrari is not limited, but great video, very good content, incredible machine !!!
Every single regulation they have is there for a reason, COMPETITION
Could you upload these in 60 fps? That would just top it off, amazing work!
« This F 488 is a dream to drive »... and to set.
First day, put it on track, deflate tires, lower hardness of back suspension to avoid loss a traction and spins... ur (almost) done.
U can't explain how good this car drives.
Appreciate the intro music!
Trying something different! I really liked the vibe.
6:00-6:34 part gave me chills
The intro music made me want to rewatch "We Were Soldiers"
In America at racing do you able to brake or turn different corners?
So video on every Tuesday now?? And why the power down to 560BHP ? is it a race rule or something ?
how do they get downforce on the front? cause they have such big wings and the car has its engine in the back/middle of the car so id imagine its light on the steering, do they use weights to keep the front down or some kinda tubing or something inside the body?
APVX front splitter and canards
you should have more than 500k subs or at least 100k
That cars almost as beautiful as the guys who made the video
Dream track car for me is the 458 Risi Competzione
Damn, now y'all are doing videos on Ferrari drivers? y'all are stepping up the ladder really quickly.
We're happy doing Civics or Ferraris, just as long as they're cool cars with cool people.
Thank you.
Toronto!
So this is the 100th video on the channel?
A AAyyyeee he's from Toronto!!!
The starting music reminded me of filthy frank and insurgency
God, can you guys just get a Netflix series already?
Thumbs down? Must be Lamborghini nut swingers
Yea... it's not cheap at all. I tried but it just cost too much. Best to work and know people.
Get to know SmurfinWRX?
What type of Motorsport is this. What championship?
gt3 touring cars, pretty sure this is pirelli campionship??
More racing content.
I know the person who won 3rd place ar t Laguna Seca at the Ferrari Challenge event a few weeks agi

He can't be from "Toronto." It's "Toron-oh!"
Start at track day see if you like it. Move to go kart racing. Find and nail sponsors and get picked by one.
Stickers on the tires....
+helimx those aren't stickers, they're factory on Pirelli's race tires. They're different colors depending on the type of tire so they can see and change them quickly.
Gears and Gasoline
On the tread? Well I learned something new today. Thanks!
I don’t own it but I own the LEGO version 😁
Do you realize how much this car will be worth in 40 years
Turno or bi-tubo
Too bad the C7R kicks this car's ass every year in the IMSA championship lol
Dont play music when we can hear the car. Too much interview in the video.
In a lots of ways 458 was a much better performing car in WEC.
2019 too much talking
560 bhp ? only.... ?
