    Back in 2012 Cadillac created a new starting point for its brand that they dubbed the ATS. It was a compact sport coupe and sedan that was designed to compete with the BMW 3 Series and 4 Series. It's been 8 years since then and it's time for some fresh blood... the ATS is out and this new CT4 is in. We're going to check out the spiciest version of this new car right now.

    GM vehicles lately have consistently had a very unique smoothness and polish to their handling and suspension - be it a Malibu or a big SUV like the Traverse. Terrific refinement in ride quality, and if this CT4 rides like anything like the rest of their cars (I'm sure it will), this is a winner.

    As a 61 year old ATS owner, this looks like the perfect step up in performance without moving into the full on boy racer ATS -V! This could be perfect for gentleman in my age group that want some performance without going to 500hp.Yeah, nice job Caddy!!!

    Nice clean review. Just a note though; Cadillac actually places the CT4 in the "subcompact" category, just as the CT5 will compete with the compacts even though it's much larger. So the CT4 does NOT compete against the 3 series, Benz C class, Genesis G70 and alike. This is a common misunderstanding of many journalists. Cheers.

    • @aluisious
      @aluisious Před 3 lety +3

      The CT5 is huge, it's not a compact, and the CT4 is not a subcompact. Cadillac can call it whatever they want, but it's bigger than an ATS.

    Your passenger-side mirror is not adjusted properly. You want to be able to see your blind spot ... not your rear fender. Your rear-view mirror shows you what is behind you; your side-side view should show you your side blind spot.

    Putting V badges on meh cars is a great way to destroy your own brand. It's like putting AMG badges on bog-standard CLA's or Ford calling a 4-banger turbo Mustang a "Cobra Series". Sad.
    And come on Autobytel, you could've jumped on the 73 (you were right next to it) and rung it out, to see the rolling to triple digits.

      @@blackgtp3220 I think my statement is clear and doesn't have anything to do with what I drive. Taking your premium brand and slapping the name on something below, is a great way to destroy your brand, plain and simple. Like I said, it's like putting AMG badges on a bog-standard CLA. It's NOT what that badge and brand represented, regardless of whether the car is "meh" or "wow, this is pretty nice for a 4-banger". This is about poor brand management, plain and simple. Hope that's clear.

      @@tonybarnes2920 I don't see that BMW, Mercedes or Audi have suffered by having two levels of their performance brands, why is Cadillac going to suffer? Everyone I know seems to be able to figure out that the new HiPo V will be "V Blackwing" and then there will be the "V" with somewhat less performance. And I've watched and read several CT4-V reviews and all have been positive - meaning Cadillac did a credible job. I think the V brand will be enhanced.

  • @doomtrooper2909

The CT4's interior is comparable in quality of materials to the 2 Series. And I haven't seen a single review out there saying otherwise.
