    Cadillac is practically defined by the big Escalade these days. It also makes some excellent sedans. Remember those? Sedans? The smallest one in the Cadillac lineup is the CT4 which replaces the ATS. It can be had in sport attitude as the CT4 V. Tom Voelk tests a Premium Luxury model with the optional dual volute turbocharged 2.7-liter four cylinder. All sorts of tech is available, including Super Cruise. But can it match the refinement of the European completion? Depends on what you’re after. Tom Voelk checks out an AWD model.

    Excellent review, and finally someone noticed the downscale filler panels on either side of the infotainment screen. They really stick out in an otherwise nice interior. But Cadillac was kind enough to spare us the overwrought C-pillar designs of the CT5 and 2021 Escalade. The least expensive Cadillac is also the most tastefully rendered.

  • @tyler6636
    @tyler6636 Před 3 lety

    I drive a 2014 Cadillac ATS! The predecessor to this vehicle. Here are my takes:
    1. Cabin quality has not improved and in some areas has diminished substantially!
    My cabin definitely has a more cut & sewn vibe to it. This looks more like a Chevy Cruze inside. In 2020, Cadillac should have given the CT4 a full digital gauges like every other competitor. Also, door pockets NEED velvet lining in them in a luxury vehicle.
    2. The exterior design is less appealing to me.
    While I like the slight length increase & prays that it goes to rear seat occupants, I am a little disheartened that Cadillac chose to cheaply add length in the overhangs as opposed to a wheel base increase; as this devalues the proportions of the vehicle, which in a premium product, is important. Also, I dislike Cadillac’s switch to horizontal lighting! The vertical stacked lights were uniquely cadillac, not a single other manufacturer did that. It just seems like change for the sake of change, meanwhile the segment leading germans are very consistent with their product styling. A 15 year old BMW or Audi product still largely resembles the products today. The same can’t be said for Cadillac, brand loyalists like consistency!
    3. Hate the new cadillac ‘shield’; I want my crest & wreath. If they wanted something ‘new’, Cadillac should have went with the 60’s style ‘V’ bottom crest as a throwback.
    I might skip this generation of CT4 unless they rectify some of these problems. The gauges & headlight styling are my biggest gripes with this generation.
    As always, thank you Tom for the wonderfully informative interview ❤️ I hope you are safe and sound ;)

    At 7:53 is reported that it has 10.7 cubic feet or 302 liters of trunk or boot space. This is the typical FAKE GOURMET sedan, the one that comes ready to be swallowed by an SUV. In the ranking of decent sedans (TOP 500 SEDANS) with a trunk capacity above 500 liters or 17.6 cubic feet it does not enter. The trunk of this car is smaller than the trunk of the Renault Megane, a HATCHBACK sold in Australia which has a trunk of 434 liters or 15.3 cubic feet of capacity. In other words, it is a shame for a Cadillac (GM luxury brand) to have such a small trunk. Thanks Tom Voelk this time you did it right. ha ha ha
