The absolute legend Ryan “Ashphalt” Decenzo
NEVER TRUST A CANADIAN
😂❤
thats how we say it up in Canada lol. Gotta be better than ass-fault tho right??
Ashphalt Yacht Club
Decenzo is low key a skate cyborg
Dern Bros I Hope Ya'll Keep This Series Going Long As Possible 🙏
I love this shit!
I agree bro. I look forward to this series every week. It’s cool to see a spot from so many different angles
Literally my favorite series on CZcams and I don’t skate anymore lol
For real !!! These videos are amazing and 💯 % for the viewers enjoyment
Yea we love this series it’s sure to go far for a long time cuz if you think about it there’s 100s of classic skate spot around the world that have been in multiple video parts
That Melon by Dalton was insane, so clean like that could've been an ender in any video part. I think that trick alone deserves 100k subs.
A melon down 18 stairs is gnarly but not close to an ender
i like that it had a little tweak to it.., almost like a Method air
Fucking awesome
@@lamBETTERthanY0Ustfu bro 😂😂😂 wtf r u yapping about. Everyone has different abilities and everyone can have different Enders.. shit was fucking insane. Let’s see u hit this
It should be noted that there are 10 years between Chad Fernandez lipslide and the other three tricks. The lipslide is from Globe - Opinion which came out in 2001, and the others are from his Skatestache Part which came out in 2011 when he was 35 years(!) old.
His part in OSIRIS The Storm WAS PRETTY SAVAGE!
He was also in the movie Grind! Legend!
Impressive skate memory. 100% I remember the lipslide and the other tricks were definitely way later on.
Chad Fernandez is the king of this spot. that nose grind is insane if you think about.... very underrated imo
Savage
I swear every spot had a gnarly Decenzo trick ! He deserve the skater of the decade award
True, but then Nyjah.
@@thehandleiwantedwasntavailable Yeah, every one of these spot histories they casually mention Nyah with the gnarliest trick.
"it feels so big.. it hurts the insides." -dalton dern 2024
lol
This was one of the best episodes so far! The Sean Malto interview was awesome. Dalton pulled off a insane melon down the 18 & it was cool hearing Kanaan explain his set up & methods on how he grinds down the wall rails!
Yeah that confetti story was pretty sweet!
Garretts gnarely bro, man down played 50-50ing that rail. its no joke
You’re correct. It’s scary either way 5050 or not. Hell 95% of us would break our shit BAD even attempting anything
Measurements! This channel is the fucking best.
this is the best series on youtube atm, hands down. love the addition of the measurements and its awesome to hear intricate details about the spot like decenxo fronside flip pre bondo is nuts. you guys are fucking insane, this channel is about to blow
the best series on youtube rn
25:13 ben kadow skated the rail in his Hockey II part. He grinded up the rail and grinded back down. In a local video called 'Cruel Kindness' a couple other guys skated up the rail and in to the back.
they find the most obscure footage of random people and miss this
That melon down the set was awesome. I literally punched the air when he got it.
Likewise! The footage that set it up gave us (the viewer) a small sense of being there for it. Such an awesome crew.
With keys in his pocket lmao the man's a beast 🔑
Damn, Dalton stomped that.
Desendzo is sneaky a legend. He's kinda Reynolds level.
Yeah but I don’t like that he mis represented the 18 Reynolds frontside flipped that and landed it years before Ryan got his 18 stair f/s flip and then he said that’s the most stairs after Reynolds 17… but that’s an 18! And even saying the most stairs tre flipped is debatable after Hoskins three second rule el Toros tre flip
He is the best skater to come out of Canada he just dont boast about iy
Dalton is such a beast. Just casually ollie the 18. Does the tail drop at Encenitas bank.
Malto and Decenzo this show is some premium stuff!
that set is a monster.... huge props Dalton, for having the guts to throw down. and extra points for style.... love these videos...
Damn Sean Malto is ageless. Dude looks like he's in his early 20s still. Good for him!
This series is pretty profound. It is not only the history of skateboarding, but also the history of architecture and urban design (in California at least) and the history of the relationship between skateboarding and architecture. In the video about a big ledge (Oceanside?), some people give the filmers an odd look and they say something like "I bet those people are thinking 'What are those guys doing?'" It illustrates well how from one perspective, these stairs, rails, ledges, etc. are pretty unremarkable features of a space that the designers probably didn't give much thought to other than that they were needed to get people from one level to another, but in their interaction with skateboarding they become something incredible, magical, challenging, etc. Great work. I hope that the series continues.
Great words!
Cool comment man
@Dern Brothers - Ben K does a 50-50 up and back down in Hockey II on the James Martin up rail, just like Kanaan's @29:44. Great video as always and keep up the excellent work!!
That’s what I was thinking to
Sage elsesser also did fifty up, front 180 into the bank but I can’t remember the video
@@pluecherry7 it was in cherry. Super sick clip
This series has everything, the history of tricks done on a spot, interviews with the skaters who actually did the tricks, and also a gnarly trick done on the spot on the gnarly set. So fire
If you calculate the hypotenuse of that stair gap, that's about a 19.5' jump! I know mountain bikers sometimes measure gaps that way by accommodating both length and height of a feature.
Stoked that Dalton sent it! He made it look way too easy.
The best series keeps getting better
the Malto overcrook is sooooo stylish, my fav trick on a rail especially the angles they have in the video part, you literally couldn't do a riskier trick than back overcrook
yeah the way his arms are so still and steezed out is just crazy, so sick...
What a dangerous trick to attempt and even on his bails he kept from beating himself up too bad. Freaky trick
Decenzo tre flip is to nice
Love the spot histories! I haven't skated in over 20 years but these videos give me inspiration for my own life. The creativity and confidence is incredible.
i hope this series never ends. Dalton is insane. Doing measurements is sick af also.
Killin it with this series. Spots, guests, the measurements is a good addition too.
Decenzo has one of the best F/s Flips!! Dude is dope.
This series is gold. I'd love to see this continue across the globe.
The inside stories on all these spots/tricks are so enlightening.
Really great to have this.
There have got to be thousands of spots
That Melon was insane. Thank you for that. That was fun to watch. Wow that grab was on some Jaws level.
So stoked you found Alonzo’s wall rail back 50, such a genuine dude and so gnarly. He was like 16 or 17 when he did that too. Rest in piece my brother
This series has come to be one I look forward to. Keep up the great work. Would love to see one on the Burbank 16!
BEST SKATEBOARDING SERIES 9N CZcams!! Keep killing it fellas!!
yeah, the specs of the spot are a good idea, keep doing it please.
For an 18 that set is huge! BTW that melon was so clean that it looked like he could have melon wall ride that stair set!
so sick how these vids are blowing up and you guys are getting more and more resources. props for all the work that goes into these
I'm a skateboarding fan from Brazil and been loving this series about spots history, but today I got to watch some Kanaan skate parts and it blew my fkn mind, he's an absolute beast, that Zero roughcut on Thrasher is absurd, max respect! Cheers from Brazil
The 5-0 up against the wall is awesome!
Best CZcams channel hands down
I love everything you do. I really like the exact measurements touch. You should keep like a spreadsheet of all the spots and do stuff at the end like "And this spot comes in 8th for vertical drop and 8th for horizontal gap" and show the other spots just ahead and behind so we can get an idea of how it compares to the other spots. Especially the Davis Gap, now I'm dying to know the measurements of that one so we can compare it to this one. Great video!
Measurements is Genius idea. Please continue
Definitely like the measurements wouldnt mind if you giys did them in future videos. Also what a good video never heard of this spot before😮
You guys make Wednesdays great! Love these videos
I'll say it again. This channel is the best skating content on the interweb right now. Melon 18 stair for YT is wild.
,, Good Small 18 stairs´´ :D Great Video guys !!!
That front 5.0 on the wall rail is off tapppppp!
P.s. love this channel, best free skate content on the tube. Bless 🙏
Greatest show in skateboarding.
You guy’s rock for these videos. You have no idea how much I appreciate them. Growing up seeing these spots, it’s history.
its so insane that he ollied that for a youtube video. props to dalton that was insane
I really like you guys doing the measurements! That set is insanely big! Dalton, you're an animal! Loving this series, guys!
Kanaan and Dalton's trick's combined are basically what I've dreamed of being able to do my whole skate career. Handrails and hucking.
Thank you for sending that dalton!!
The Dern bros never disappoint. Dalton is a beast, so rad !!
You know what would be really cool for your gap measurements? You could superimpose the triangles of each gap on top of each other once you get enough data. Use something famous like the original Carlsbad as your gold standard and overlap it with other gaps and stair sets like this. A simple graphic would make it easy to appreciate how gnarly some of these gaps are.
You guys are killing! Love the concept you’ve come up with, so enjoyable to watch the history and hopefully get a trick at the spot 👍👍
Best series ever. I say if you run out in CA (would take forever) just keep it going U.S. with the other famous spots in Arizona and even east coast stuff. Cyclops rail ATL, courthouse and Blubba in NYC etc... I know that takes some traveling but it'd be sic
This is my favourite CZcams series without question. You guys produce excellence. Thank you!
27:27 That literally sent a chill through my forehead and down my shoulders. Well done.
EPIC, GNARLY, STEEZY... Dern Bro's shredding is next level. Mad Respect.
I seriously love these series so much! Thank you so much for your work on these!
This is such a sick video. Garrett Ginner is who got me into CZcams skate videos way back in the day, now I watch the Dern Bros religiously and Decenzo is my favorite skater. So sick
That was soooo sick seeing your boy bomb down that huge set!!! And with hella style! I love all your videos but the last couple that I’ve seen where one of your bros did that one push to Ollie on to that tall double kinked rail to 50-50 then to smith was so sick and then of course this video and I love seeing your clips🤘 you and your brother fuckn rip!!
Awesome spot history video. Love the tape measure and the melon!! Insane. Gotta see someone grind up that rail into the bank.
Joslin hardflip❤ what a beast! One of the best to ever do it!
Noice! Kannan is so gnarly lol.
Wall rail grind was sick!
Also the measuring is dope, it puts a real world measurement instead of random amount of stairs, witch can vary in hight and length. 👊👍🤙😁
These spot history videos are my favorite videos that come up on my notification 🔔 ❤
The best channel atm for skate entertainment and how did he Ollie that with keys in his pocket 🔥🔥🔥
Hahaha such a surprise to see Garrett Ginner appear! I used to watch every one of that dudes videos! Awesome.
so glad i found these im pretty sure i have seen every video so far now and i have something to look forward to every wednesday
Bro that 18 stair is insane! You did that shit
I love these videos. Thanks for the great content. Keep measuring the stairs!
BEST EPISODE YET!!! Loved the Malto commentary:)
Love this series boys.
Keep up the gnar work.
this is so awesome, great series ! you guys rock
Love this series!
these are my favorite videos on the internet right now. by far
Always good to see Malto.
This is the best series on youtube
Loving this series, crazy how big the set and rail are, and how much has gone down on both!
Maybe something to consider for the future: when showing the tricks, possibly listing what video/part they were used in for those who want to check it out further can watch after. Otherwise, I look forward to more from this series!
Epic as always Dern bros! Keep up the killer content
Love this series
CLASSIC EPISODE AGAIN! 🔥🔥🔥
love these series🎉 well done !
Excellent Video. And Pls do the "Costco Gap" Next that Sheckler kickflip? Dying to see that!
This is a great series guys - keep it up. Also love the measurements.
26:35 "This feels so big... it hurts the insides, like..." 💀Congratulations though, holy shit 😲
Nyjah never fails to blow my mind with how robotic and perfect he can make INSANE difficulty look. Now there's a lot of youngsters that are like that. Skateboarding is a different world compared to my time, man. I started getting into skating in the mid 90s when I was little and through the 2000s I already felt the skill of pros getting exponentially higher. Now it's just mindblowing to someone like me.
You guys are doing god's work, awesome stuff! Also love the measurements, really helps put a behemoth of a spot like this into perspective.
Absolutely awesome, what an amazing story of events and a killer ending,
These vids are so amazing, thank you
Best one yet thanks for these videos
Best skate channel. Love this series.
This series rules. Keep up the great work
Stamped it!!!! What a good ender!! Props on the clean Ollie!!!
I absolutely love these videos. Keep ot up DernBoyz
❤Happy Valentine's Day Dern Bros.!❤
Thank you Dalton! Damn that melon was INSANE! 😮🫢😵
Loveee you guys sooo much 💯
These are so fun to watch and all the research is really appreciated. Please keep measuring the spots and making these
Love seeing you measure it...gotta get that data!
