Super fun, but some of my worst skate injuries were skateboarding in the rain. Used to be a crazyyy hill near my house in my old neighborhood, and the concrete turns into a cheese grater even more when it’s wet. 😂

Listening to Chris talk about the cops busting the spot gave me mad nostalgia 😅. I grew up skating in the late 90s/early 2000s and it was the same way for us. I’ve gotten tickets, had my board taken to the police station where my friends mom had to pick them up for us and after a while we would just scatter when they showed up too. It was so bad that cops used to sit in their cruisers across the street and just watch us for hours sometimes to make sure we weren’t skating some spot. In my hometown skateboarding is actually still ILLEGAL to this day, there’s an actual law in the town bylaws and it’s an arrest-able offense. it’s fucking crazy that we got hassled so much for a SPORT that’s now in the fucking OLYMPICS. So all you kids that skate now don’t forget to thank an “old head” skater next time you see/talk to one for paving the way for you because you have NO IDEA how much it could suck to be a skater. 🛹
