In "The Battle For The Top 10 Greatest 360 Flips Of All Time" we attempt to conclude the recent ongoing debate over what is "the most famous 360 flip" or the gnarliest, best, highest, fastest, longest, wildest, whatever it may be. It's too difficult to narrow it down to one specific tre flip per person ,so we also through in sort of a "best of" per skater. The video ends with raw footage of Chris Joslin's epic battle versus the Davis Gap. We kicked off the 360 Flip saga with "100 Different Ways To Do A 360 Flip w/ Chris Joslin", followed it up with "Chris Joslin VS El Toro 20 Stair" and eventually that led us to "The Most Famous 360 Flip Ever Done" starring Chris Joslin and Chris Cole. These ten, in our eyes, stand out BUT something tells us that this debate will go on forever. So what are YOUR thoughts? What are the top ten greatest 360 flips of all time? Did we get it right? Did we get it wrong? Are we missing any? Be sure to subscribe for weekly content and check out the website for merchandise! Shop STORIED merchandise at www.storiedskateboarding.com

What are YOUR thoughts?? Did we get it right? Miss any?
I never see anyone talking about Joslin’s tre flip in New Geound (21:50) czcams.com/video/Ikk0EPK-e_0/video.htmlsi=4ywhqakTsUldqkxn
P-Rod switch 3flip down the Santa Monica triple set. Also Diego Najera's nollie tre down the same gap
Aurélien Giraud and Nicholas Dias, Dias has probably the craziest tre flip on flat ever documented (I tagged you on IG for the vid of it)
Another Chris Joslin 360 flip would be the triple set in the bust or bail contest. He clipped it, but that set is huge.
Josiah Gatlyn, Aurélien Giraud
Jason Lee not being in the top 10 should be a criminal offense.
😂😂
You mean Nate Jones? That’s what Jason a say.
Jason Lee's shit was not so great, even for the time. Yes he had "pop" that about covers it however.
@@DeanGoldbarry-jo7fd you’re either trolling or delusional. J Lee was waaay ahead of his time and has one of the most beautiful tre flips the world has ever seen.
@@DaytonJoey his name is Earl.
FULLY agree with Joslin’s. Can’t disregard the other fellas in clean beast tre flips but Joslin catches his in the air, locked in, so clean and massive that he owns the best 360 flip on record!
Aurelian was a leave out that deserves some recognition too.
Great show. Thanks!
🙏💪🙌
indeed, aurelien did some of the gnarliest 360flips ever. besides, good compilation.
Imagine landing a tre down a big gap and not catching it
Aurelian literally pops 20ft Tres in his compound like its nothing. Fucking insanity. Dude needs to get away from street league and absolutely smash it with a sick part
Herman catches his on that double set with them white shoes like it was magnets on his feet to the board.
Bro the 3 flip into the mega ramp!! 😅
🔥🔥🔥
So gnar
Insane
Can we push Enzo Cautela for beeing tied for the biggest Kickflip AND Hardflip and also some of nastiest 360 flips? This man deserves a spotlight
Yes
such a clean and stomped style, his arms barely move too
THANK YOU. Enzo is so underrated man smh
Who?
He’s highly underrated. Dude hucks
The one into the megaramp is one of the craziest to me. Imagine standing at the top of that thing and thinking of doing a flip trick into it lol it gives me chills.
Truth
This channel needs more subs. I hope you guys do well cause you guys busting out some great content. Love being a skate nerd diving into all this historical madness, this channel rips!
Thanks so much, we agree haha!
If you would use a video editor, you could easily add names, dates, and even video part names to the tricks. That context would help to teach and learn about the top 10 360 flips in that video. Also, why are multiple tricks in the top 3?
All of the credits are at the end and in the description 💪
Eric Kunmann’s 360 flip down Love Park is from his video part in Skatology Board Shops “Something Wild”. We released the video in fall of 2009. I did the majority of the filming and editing. His love park clip was filmed by Ant Travis and I believe John Note on the fisheye angle. Thanks for showing Eric love! He deserves it.
So sick!
@@storied_skateboarding for anyone curious to watch his full part - czcams.com/video/bhePWKHuDeE/video.htmlsi=NbYvR74M4OUK0XlF
The PJ Ladd one in the beginning is so sick because it’s absolutely perfect but he just did a line of like 10 tricks before and the tre flip concludes one of the best parts PJ Ladd’s Wonderful Horrible Life
💪
What other video has an ender of a flat ground trey? Only pj Ladd. That’s how legendary that trick was.
The fact he threw in a frontside 360 heelflip down a set in the middle of that part still baffles me to this day.
Awesome compilation! Thanks for putting that together
Thank you!
Thank you!
Awesome edit! 👏
There's such great talent and skill beyond this short video, yet it encapsulated this tiny niche which I've always enjoyed.
Please next do Hardflips 😉
💪🙌
This was dope, man. Thanks.
🙌💪
Thank you!
needs a disclaimer for the last eltoro clip ;)
Haha 😅
He landed that I dont care what anyone says
@@infamousskater05 If his board broke and he couldn't ride away you probably wouldn't say it's a make. How is the truck any different?
@@E-Bizzy because when a board breaks, they go down instantly, and there’s no way to possibly know whether they actually could’ve landed or not if that didn’t happen. In fact, they probably wouldn’t have landed it on most board break attempts because a board most often breaks when you land on it improperly. In this case, he actually rode away for a few feet before the broken truck caused him to pivot out of control. So there’s definitely a pretty decent difference because he provably had it if it weren’t for the truck breaking.
I don’t think it’s something that Chris Joslin or really any pro would or should be satisfied with, but at the same time I can’t fully take that away from him.
@@danvitty5442 yeah i get what you mean, but we are talking dude if this didnt happen or if this didnt happen. but it did. it happened. his truck broke and he couldnt ride away. trust me i wish he landed it but i just cant count it in my mind. i mean just watch the clip, no one yells "FUUUUCK" when they have landed something lol
Really hard to make a list like this. Smart keeping it vague. Since you have to factor in the style, the spot, and the size. Obviously you can’t include everybody. Lot of names I’d include if this were “best looking”. But you have to factor in when and where it was done.
Great work as always Chase
Very difficult. Thank you!
Thanks!!
Thank you for this edit. Amazing job adding other tre flips from these legends especially joslin. He has so many iconic tres including the el toro that we all NEED to see him land!
🙌💪
He caught it bolts and landed it... his truck broke as he was rolling away 🤷♂️
@@diegorobles6628 ****roll away from because yes he definitely did
That was a land. His truck broke.
Solid list and editing, though as a follow-up, I think it would have been worth including other stances as well. I guess if we did, it'd be feature-length though.
Just ultimately an appreciation for the trick. Thanks for the series.
True! Room for more
This is, without a doubt, one of the greatest videos of any kind I've ever seen.
🙏🙏🙏
I believe you should've put a note at the end saying the El Toro treflip of Joslin isn't actually real. Everyone should know this sure, but it might fool some people into thinking this is genuine footage.
👀👀
This is that quality content that channels like Ride, Transworld & thrasher used to post ! much luv mate
🙌💪
Honourable mentions:
- Cameo Wilson, tre flip Black Ice in Vancouver
- Jordan Trahan, tre flip a picnic table on flat
- Noah Nayef, tre flip from that brick tree planter over the bench
True!!
This was so well-made. Had a lot of clips I nearly forgot about. Westgate, Joslin, and Dylan Rieder have my favorite tres. Felipe Gustavo and Dennis Busenitz would be good in here too
Thank you!!
This Channel actually Berrics 2.0, Good stuff cant wait to see the growth ;)
🫡
This channel is NOT the berrics thank GOD.
Very solid list. I feel like Aurelien Giraud, Dylan Rieder and Felipe Gustavo would’ve been cool as honorable mentions. Maybe even Gustavo Ribeiro too. And Johnny Layton’s carlsbad switch tre too maybe.
JLay’s is amazing but it is a switch tre. Dylan is in there
Totally agree with those 3
Yeah, it was switch, but that J Lay clip is unreal. No one has that trick like him.
Nick Fiorini's tre flip always going to be one of the cleanest I've seen IMO. Levi Brown has got a crazy flick too that make them sooo good looking.
Very true
Antwuan Dixon's tre flip in the beginning of his Baker 3 part is probably one of my favorite flatground tre flips.
True
Same here. Also TJ Rogers after he switch 180s El Toro he does a buttery ass tre flip.
Great music great edit great video! Thanks.
Thank you!
Great video. Probably should have ended after the Davis gap. No disrespect but we all know deep down Joslin was not 100% satisfied with how el toro ended.
🙌💪
1:16 was just beautiful! - and gliding into water was just icing on the cake.
🙌
Excellent selection! Though since you had Westgate on the list already, you should've also included his Stay Gold ender.
True!
Epic montage at the beginning for real🙌🙌
🙌
Malto's Tre is def in my top 10. That one is iconic.
💪
Westgate and RD (and PJ, NH, and CJ) - just embody the tre.
This is what makes skateboarding so perfect - tre steez on flat or off something giant, it's still just a tre. But every one of these clips span time/locations/individuals, and it still means everything to us, and what is the same, becomes infinitely unique. Love u, skateboarding. Gratitude.
🙌💪
Man the PJ Ladd one makes me super nostalgic, that's still probably my favorite part ever.
🙌
The last clip was edited. He never landed the the Tre down El Toro
👀
@storied_skateboarding Seriously. Unless you know, there's no way you can tell it apart from real clips. Using this clip here isn't totally honest imo.
We posted the editing of this clip to the channel, people know it's an edit @@francoismartineau2519
He landed it. Idc what nobody say
😍
You should do top 10 full cabs feel like that’s an underrated trick. That would be such a cool video
💪
I wish the footage of the Markovich 360 flip off the curb cut was played raw, like in the original video. It’s so clean you can literally hear his feet catch the board.
True - we originally had it that way but the audio was so muddled that it sounded like an error
That tre Hawkins did has so much god damn style. The slight tweak. So good
🙏🙌🙌
they are all my fav!!
That works!
I had forgot many of these but I have to say Rowley's from the 411 is my favorite, just the way it flips, the almost 270 degree catch and everything. Joslin definitely has the gnarliest ones though
So iconic
There was one done down a big set, in the beginning of H-street’s Hocus Pokus, that should have been mentioned.
True!
Down an 7 set in the 80's. That's wild. And in his part he does a proper catch on a flip down those stairs. Blew my mind as a kid how he could stop the board from spinning in the air.
My favorite 360 flip ever is the one PJ Ladd does down a small set before the heel back 5-0, 180.
I’ve never wanted to do a tee flip so bad and there’s a foot of snow today
Hahaha
Snowskate ?
The speed, style, height, and length of Joslin's tres are just unparalleled. He's the fucking man. I can't stand the front foot catch that people do these days. Joslin does them properly with a FWAP sound as both his feet connect with the board mid air. Fucking love that. FUEGO!
🙌
Daewon should be way higher. It is such a memorable footage. It is in the heads of everyone that grew up at that time. Inovation on its finest.
True!
Joslin tre flip at devis was other thing man, always great content chase 🤘
Thank you!
Thanks!!
YESSSSS I’m asking my self this whole video “where tf is kalis” and then boom #3 the fucking 🐐 great list
Haha thank you!!
Thanks!
I love they showed marovich off that curb cut
One of my favorites
💪💪💪
0:39 I totally support Malto's 360 flip as a contender, mainly because the gap itself is so damn cool!
🙏🙌
The best 36 flip from flat to flat without a doubt and wade desarmo. 🥋🥋
Could be true!
No. Its Jeremy Wray. Probably.
Nick Palmquist has some big beautiful treflips too.
💪
Totally agree with the #1
🙌
Those Josh Kalis tre flips were like whoa.
📈
i wouldve like to see Kareem Campbell from trilogy at night that is a sick one!!!!
Ahhh ya, so iconic
There are definitely a lot of monumental ones that are more important than this. But I remember the first time watching the Kayo video, I rewinded Kelly harts tre flip in Barcelona like 50 times. So buttery
True!
Black Label 25 Years | Shuriken Shannon had a great tre flip at the end and
also Danny Wainwright Profile 411VM Issue #31
Great callouts
I'm glad this list isn't just gap skaters. Josh Kalis definitely deserves a top spot for best tre flip of all time.
🙌💪
The Tre flip over that tall ass fence. Always look sicker on the height stuff than the drops.
🙏💪
Solid too 10🔥 sheckler's bust or bail from back in the day, could be argued for a higher spot placement 🤷🏽♂️ all in all no complaints 💪🏽
Thank you!
I agree with the list, however Geoff Rowley has my favorite one
Epic
I'm from Liverpool same era. It was weird skating there, and there was this little kid from city, who was already better than most pros I'd watched in video. It seemed to take forever for the industry, to get on the fact that he was so good. It's like, if this kid can't get sponsored, what chance have I got lol. I believe though it was that 360 flip that got usa to take notice. Second try I believe. Back when people didn't go that big. He used to do it in England. Massive stuff, no cameras, no filming, just for the hell of it.
same here. blew my mind that it was just another trick in a montage in 1994. love the little "oh so dodgy" or whatever British thing he says after landing it
360 flip is my favourite move i can still do them after 10 plus years of not skateboarding because i spent so much time on that one trick Chris Joslin hands down is the king if tre flips
💪💪
Nice to see Josh Kasper finally get some respect for the Carlsbad 360 flip
Yup
A bit of context such as names and which video it was would be sick, and Dylan was definitely missed out somehere
All credits at the end and in the description 💪 Dylan is in there
Chris Cole Wallenberg is my fav of all time. But bob doing the one into the mega quarter is the most insane one.
Very good one!
I will always love a Trey the best cause you catch them on the front foot. It looks so damn good.
💪
Who is the one at 3:15 ? That was perfect.
All were good. Some were extra smooth.
💪
Nice list. What the criteria? Biggest? Steeziest? My fav are j Lee, appleyard, markovich, York
All of the above, just ‘great’
Tre flip is the new kickflip, I remember thinking I would get sponsored because I could do tre's and hardflips consistently haha that was sadly almost 20 years ago.
Haha
I did see a Jason Lee one at about 1.50. He did excellent ones but just not off anything notable. The same goes for Ocean Howell. As in not down a big drop or gap, but he was a pioneer, and did them so good in 1990. By 91 possibly earlier, but certainly by end of 91 he was doing 540 kickflips and backside 360 kickflip. Also i don't remember seeing Jeremy wray.
🙌
What about Matt Hensley's treflip montage on the mini ramp?
Ooo true
Danny Way’s switch tre fakie in the DC Video is def one of the sexiest tres ever delivered.
🙌
Anyone know what song is playing at 3:00?
is this about which tre flip was the best or who has the best tre flips in general? Irvine kf was indeed really epic but there were so many at this bottom/middle of this list that are arguably sick af for all time. Nick Fiorini and Chris Cole 3flips are timeless. Also, people like Bherm, figgy, and ryan decenzo can literally drop 3flips anywhere. They have them so good that they can probably film a whole part consisting of entirely 3flip hammers. But they only limit their footage to just a couple 3flips because they don't want to bore us.
Up for debate!
Malto’s tre was sick. When I saw the picture I couldn’t believe my eyes.
True!
No, Paul’s switch 360 flip down the Santa Monica triple set ??
Switch though
@@storied_skateboarding still a 360 flip
Oh boy
Im just happy they dont include the near make at el toro, so many people have debated it but no he did not l and it.
I personally love that one persons arguement was "his truck bent when he landed." Well a lot of other shit has gone done there that was rode out clean
Land*
Well…we kind of did 😎
2:16 I've practically never seen a more well centered landing than that.
🙏🙏🙏
2:57 over table from flat was by far the most impressive to me. The sheer hight is insanity
Unbelievable
Lot of beauts in there. One of the sickest tricks for sure. So much steez
🙌🙌🙌
What a beautiful trick
Agreed
Koston switch on Emb was pretty insane too
True! But switch
Would rank Westgate at number 4 overall and number 1 in beauty. He makes that trick look like fine art.
Glad to see Decenzo get some love for his hard work. Dude is in his 30s killin' it.
Would also love a flatground-only list.
Either way, I really enjoyed this.
Thank you! Good call
Was Mike Mo in any of these clips or did I miss him? Always had some steezy Tres
Amazing but this is not switch tres, only regular
Tre flipping the mega ramp is insane
💪
Dylan Rieder, Kalis, Jason Lee 💪😉 yup! agree Joslin's beast tre
🙌💪
Would’ve been nice to have the names of the skaters/ year these went all went down.
True! This is a miss on our end. All names are in credits and description
Jason Lee’s 360 flips on flat look better than all of these! Respect the man!
🙌🙌🙌
Yeah, he deserves much respect but you don't gotta give him a handie to show it..
Nick Fiorini’s will prolly always be my favorite
Shuriken Shannon's tre flip ender from the Black Label video should have made this list for sure....
Very true. Missed one
1:42 bony front foot catch insane.
🙌
I miss the Jordam Hoffart tre flip
I’m surprised Mike Mo wasn’t mentioned! He had some of the best 360 flips ever!😱
Good call out!
In Josh Kalis' I think you guys forgot the sunset one in Heavy Metal
It’s in there!
hahaha, that was some good editing on joslins el toro land
👀👀
Brandon Westgate will always have my favorite style Tre flips
🙏
There’s so many skaters who have thrown down the 360 flip, it’s impossible to say who’s the BEST. For reason IMO, Chris Cole @ Wallenburg. I had the poster from thrasher in my room as a kid.
🙌💪
1:34 , 1:41 , 1:44 ... those are up there for me.. I could watch those over and over.. and I did.. lol, on VHS and DVD haha
for looks.. my favorites are Janoski, Kalis, Desarmo, Appleyard.. but yes, Joslin wins.. for El Toro and Davis for sure
💪
