I’ve always wanted to skate with you bro… they just opened a really nice new park in Georgetown, Texas so if you come to Austin soon it’s about 30 min away.
I remember when they were called private skateparks, not training facilities. Other sports use TFs because they in fact are facilities aka multiple things to aid the athlete like PT, equipment, personnel, etc. This is just a personal skatepark.
reminds me of cream city skate park outside of Chicago. place was pretty much built for chaz ortiz when he was a kid and coming up. I skated it in 2008 and even saw chaz there. he was the only one skating without a helmet and he was like 14 haha.
i remember when i seen him at tampa back in 1999 wearing full pads doing shit over the box that i couldnt even do after 20 years of skating... his dad was like- take notice son.. my boy's going places. Well pops- you wasnt wrong!
Ryan Sheckler was in his peak during this time. That step-up looks like so much fun. He made skateboarding look cool and fun during this time long with Chris Cole. Shout out to him for getting me into skateboarding side note they should build a replica of this park for a best trick competition. I would really like to see who even has the skill to get buck like that these days
is it just me that finds these places horribly uninviting? everybodies "training facilities" back in the day looked like prisons lol. even the fantasy factory looked like some weird dystopian attempt at reminding u that skating outdoors once existed.
You probably just want an open air facility, like normal skate parks. The problem is leaving it open to element will make this hard to maintain and will shorten lifespan resulting in more maintenance and money. Because majority of these are made with wood. This being wood means they can easily shift things around if they choose to do so.
Good times!!
@ryan.sheckler
Thanks for being you Man
