- Formula Renault was a big name back in the 00's, but with its demise at the turn of the decade, it has become a thing of the past. Despite it's popularity however, there were series that even time has forgotten, that more or less disappeared without anyone noticing.
Today's video features one of those series, 'Formula V6 Asia'. The Rejects series of videos focuses on championships that came and went with little fanfare, and this championship based in Asia is a perfect example of that.

Well a new Formula Renault series is gonna launch in 2020 using the regional f3 car (might be wrong) , might this be the start of an formula renault comeback?
So that is actually just a rebranding of the Asian Formula Renault 2.0 championship that already exists (separate series to the one in the video).
But so far since their announcement, I’ve seen no indication that they’ll actually be able to pull it off, especially since they’re already running a much older car and driver budgets for the series aren’t that high as it is.
I’d like to be proven wrong though, as it would be a proper resurgence of formula Renault in the region.
Two videos in two weeks, reminds me of when I first started!
Hope you enjoy the video and please look forward to the next in the series (or the next Introduction video, whichever comes first).
Great job
most underrated channel on CZcams
Hi. Nice video again as always! You do a great job of explaining other racing series, even though they aren't as known or popular. Appreciate your work, just subscribed. :)
Appreciate the kind words! I'll keep at it.
If you look closely at every tracks they raced on, the crowd stands are always empty
Don't have too look too hard though, unless you're looking for the one person spectating.
Bro, i didnt even know this existed, i was too young to know what was a feeder series
Edit: Good vid btw
I remember seeing this series when they were supporting the Super GT in their foreign race
And was surprised to read as well how it literally died in just a few years
Formula Renault AsiaCup is kinda the spiritual successor in the Asian region now with the Formula 3 Regional regulations
Yeah the economics around the series really fell apart from the get-go so I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.
@@JacobBosley It was a bridge too far yeah
3 years ain't that bad , there have been worse upstarts
Would A1GP count as a reject series?
It was a lot more successful than the last two videos I've done, but I would still consider it 'Rejected' by the end of it's lifetime. So yeah I already have the makings of a video for it.
Can you make a video about A1GP series?
Got one in the works!
@@JacobBosley thanks
